Hey gang,

In COD4 the last week or so I have been getting numerous comments that "Damn Wildfire, your mic is messed up". Apparently lots of static and it is a bit annoying to teammates. And I don't want to get muted anymore than I already have. It is kinda like being married, she doesn't listen to me either.

I have an older Sennheiser U320 USB gaming headset/mic. So I unplugged it, plugged it back in, rebooted. Still same issue. So think it is time for a new one.

In an ideal world I would prefer in ear earbuds with an attached mic and connected thru USB. I can't find anything that is USB, but I found this Razer Blackshark V2 USB headset on Amazon.

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B0B7KKD78B/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3DWYIK6Y9EEQB&th=1

Price is right, reviews are OK.

Any comments and or suggestions.

I feel the same way. But I can't seem to find in ear/mic combo that plug into USB. I found some that plug into 3.5 mm but they aren't getting very good reviews.

Thanks Crack. Thanks for the suggestions.

I found the Gamecon 818 on eBay but with shipping it is more than the Razer. And I found the Razer at a local electronics store. I think they have a 30 day return policy so I am going to give the Razer a try.

I will report back and maybe with new headphones I can channel some Crack like kills.

@Wild Fire I had trouble with my headset microphone. I bought a microphone with an arm for about 40 bucks and I’ve never had anyone complain about mine.  Was cheaper than buying an entire new headset.

Wild Fire

Look here  before your money away   or replace old headset wiring for the ground is broke or mic was incerted in the speaker output and blew mic windings making open circuit that rubs voice coil gets static.

I'm with Shadow  running JBL Quantum 810 wireless USB  christmas got them half  price  only issue is the preset tone is just abit too bassey had to lower volume to stop ears ringing after using them an adjust the equilizer to my liking (too powerful) and Noise Cancelling that kills sound of the fans running outside of headset,  are durable for sat on them an survived.

Note: 7.1  surround is a gimic for the ear cups need more than 1 driver per cup, 1990's forgot model of true surround headset Plantronics that had 6 drivers per cup,  they were heavy to ware. shame that Plantronics left the gaming world and sold out to Polycom who lost old school values and cater to biz world.

if can go to local computer store to test run a pair do so

Hey Rea, do you have a link to the microphone you bought?

Hey Hoth, thanks for the suggestion.

I wonder in the mic on the cord is sufficient for gaming or would it pick up all the ambient noise. Do you have any experience with that?

A small amount of experience with a set. I mostly used them for work. I didn't have many issues. Not the greatest sound quality as expected but for a long gaming session nothing is on your head at least.

I have the Razer Kraken. And the mic doesn't seem to work on my laptop because no one seems to hear me.  Not sure why.  It works fine on my desktop.

Have you tried adjusting the setting in sound under Control Panel.
