  3. Had the day off yesterday and decided to go on a BIF (Bird In Flight) expedition for the day. I thought, there is no better place to do BIF photography, than Conowingo Dam on the Susquehanna river that borders Maryland and Pennsylvania. This time of year, Conowingo is home to the largest population of migrating Bald Eagles east of the Mississippi river. It's not unusual to see several hundred of them. I recently bought the Canon EOS R6 full-frame mirrorless body and wanted to test it out with my Canon EF 500 f/4L USM IS lens and 1.4x III teleconverter (700mm effective focal length). The focus on the EOS R6 has 'eyeball' tracking setting for animals and people, so I wanted to put it (and the 20 frames per second) to the test. I am extremely impressed with the capabilities of this camera. I would usually only walk away with maybe 1/3 of my images being keepers (with my Canon 5D Mark IV)...to over 80% being keepers with the R6. I must confess that even with a wimberly, my skills at BIF acquisition with a long lens and panning need honing. But I will get there. All in all I am pleased with the camera and the shots I grabbed yesterday. If you're in the area of MD/PA/VA and are into bird photography, you really should go checkout Conowingo Dam. Just get there early because the place fills up quick!

    Yop yop/Hello all

Yop yop. I have been registered for almost 10 years now, and I have been playing on some of your servers for quite a long time now, so I guess it is about time to come and say yop yop, formally this time. My first name is Nicolas, I am French (crévindiou !), from east part of France. I've been playing Cod4 for about ten years now, after a career on Unreal Tournament 2004 (hence my tag, standing for European Sniper Gathering, an old UT99/2k4 clan, with X-locators and sniper-machine-guns) Some of the people met there (for some, almost 15 years ago!) are still around, on CoD4 now, and I salute them especially. (Gothic, MikZzona, GodSpawn, BlackRose, ...) I hunt atmospheric optics and practice astronomy/photography/house keeping/DIY in my spare time, when I am not fro(a?)gging (mostly thawing now) here and there. Thaw you around ! Goku

  8. Copy & paste that? Original content, unless you count my interpretation of knowledge I acquired in the '90s while taking nursing curricula. Biology, A&P courses, Several psychology courses. Comical that you assume my intelligence or knowledge when you don't even know me; or that you feel motivated to question it. Would could hang out some time; then I could even chat with you about Adenosine Triphosphate while I write out the Krebs Cycle for you, if it'll make you feel better about the whole thing. Or we could chat about Themistocles & how he's underappreciated in helping save much of western civilization's culture. Maybe the Fertile Crescent & the establishment of uniform curricula across city-states, irrigation, the wheel, writing? The Code of Hammurabi?. Classical vs. Operant Conditioning & it's practical application in everyday life? I usually don't 'use big words', especially in-game, because 1. I'm there to have fun & blow-off steam; not to display my not inconsiderable wealth of knowledge, or edify people on relatively inconsequential facts & opinions just because I find them interesting. 2. 'Big words', out of context are unnecessary, & most people, expectedly, don't wanna hear it. How about different coffees of the world, different flavors & roasting profiles? Wet vs. dry process? Jung & Archetypes? Egypt & it's geography allowing it's culture to flourish as it did. The Roman Dynasty from establishment, Kingdom to republic, empire & collapse. The simple stirrup & it's influence on the fall of Rome. The similarities & differences between say, a nice Blue Mountain & a Kona? Semi precious stones? agate, nephrite jade, jadeite jade? Mafic rocks? Slip faults? Spooky Entaglement? Einstein watching a clock tower from the back of a cart & musing about relativity? The stages of elements as fuel during the evolution of different mass stars? A proclivity for goofing around doesn't preclude an appreciation of a broad sweep of topics or one's intelligence. How about a nice game of chess? English is my favorite book as White. Sicilian (Accelerated Dragon) & Nimzo-Indian as Black. Knight outposts are underappreciated. You only know people as well as they choose to allow, & certainly not through a venue such as an online fps. How about the roux, bechamel & the five mother sauces? How to make a great Ny-style pie? The contribution of different yeasts to a crust's flavor? Drawing a thread using the spoon test to determine the stage of your confection? Mychorrhizae & plant health & yield? Auxins & their response to photoperiod? The dual nature of light, slit experiments... Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle? Do you have a passion or hobby that draws you to learn something & becoming proficient?

  17. Some photos I took in Yellowstone National Park and Grand Tetons National Park a couple of weeks ago. The majority were taken with my new Canon EOS R body with Canon RF24-105 f/4L USM IS and Canon EF 500 f/4L USM IS (and 1.4x III teleconverter). I believe the only one that was not taken with the EOS R was the Prong Horn Antelope which was taken with my Canon 5D Mark IV and Canon EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L USM IS. Bison (at about 25 yards) taken near Old Faithful with EOS R and EF 500 f/4L USM IS Chapel Of The Transconfiguration in Grand Teton National Park. Taken with Canon EOS R and Canon RF 24-105 f/4L USM IS Barn on Mormon Lane, Grand Teton National Park. Taken with Canon EOS R and Canon RF 24-105 f/4L USM IS Grand Prismatic Spring overlook. Taken with Canon EOS R and Canon RF 24-105 f/4L USM IS Large Grizzly. Taken in Lamar Valley using Taken with Canon EOS R and Canon EF 500 f/4L USM IS with Canon EF 1.4x III teleconverter.....at about 150 yards. Pronghorn Antelope taken in Lamar Valley. Taken with Canon 5D Mark IV and Canon EF 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 L USM IS Bull Elk and his harem during the rut. Taken near Fairy Falls trailhead with Canon EOS R and Canon EF 500 f/4L USM IS with Canon EF 1.4x III teleconverter from about 100 yards. 23. FFS, those pizzas must be the Italian version of 'fortune cookies' But unfortunately true, most people associate certain jobs and nice clothes with intelligence, complete bollocks, they also confuse the ability to learn what others have written or done with intelligence. Who is the cleverest human, someone that can use tools, diagnose complicated problems (such as medicine), programme computers, write in good grammar (for understanding) etc etc, or who has a Phd in Star Trek studies?, beam me up Scotty I've a job awaiting me.

  39. The first post as far as I can tell is accurate, apart from his own comment that the vaccine will not be safe. That may or may not be true, I certainly won't be lining up to be a guinea pig for this new rna technology. Maybe if this was the @blk_plague (sorry couldn't help myself ) and had a 50% mortality rate. Here is an article from nature I found discussing close to what the first post was about : https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-020-2814-7 The second post he made is pretty close to what those at http://gbdeclaration.org say, led by world leading epidemiologists Dr. Gupta from Oxford, Dr. Kulldorff from Harvard, and Dr. Bhattacharya from Stanford, and signed by over 33, 000 medical practicioners. This leads me to believe it must have been the 3rd post which caused the problem? I only had a brief skim to be honest, the site does look conspiratorial, but there is some truth to the first one which was posted in March when there was a huge problem with testing. I don't have the time to sit and go through them though, I'd be surprised if many of you did. His Jew comment was a big leap but I guess he felt backed into a corner. Being a big believer in freedom of speech though which some seem confused about, why not just do that mute thing people always go on about or move the thread to politics and at least give him some kind of a platform - fair enough not everyone wants to see this stuff. Anyway I'll take myself out, I must be that fun guy at parties.
