An argument in support of there being a God is that cows exist. Because there's just no way something that tastes that good could have occurred naturally. Otherwise, I eat very little that comes from the sea. My approach there is that it took us billions of years to crawl out of the ocean where we had to eat everything else in it, and I'm in no hurry to return to that diet.

I grew up less than 15 miles from the Ocean (not hard to do in England, where I think the furthest you can be from the sea is less than 100 miles), yet I can't stand seafood in any shape or form. The "trouble and strife" loves it and will scarf down shrimp till the cow comes home (Freudian slip)

She also loves it when we go over to the UK and she can have Salmon for breakfast. But how can that compare to the traditional English breakfast, which is different everywhere you go, but should always be Fried Eggs, Fried Bacon, Fried tomatoes, sausages, beans (pork and beans to the yanks) and toast.

As for me, I just love a good Indian curry (lamb) or anything spicy, as long as there is nothing in it that swims in its own piss (kids at the pool excluded, of course as they swim in everyone else's urine - LOL).

Growing up in Atlantic Canada seafood is readily available.  I have lobster when ever the fancy strikes me, But im a carnivore at heart so, beef, pork, chicken, etc...  As far as wild meat, moose meat would be my top favorite, followed  by deer.  Bear is so so, depends on how its prepared, the ther is the bird stuff, partridge, duck, goose, all ok again depending on how prepared. Horse is good as well, as i have had that Its not really alot different than beef.  Buffalo is becoming very big around here too as its lower in Cholesteral and very lean.  But for the most part if it runs and sombody can catch it or shoot it.. Ill try it.

Moose, bear, deer? Nope. If it isn't stamped USDA inspected, I don't eat it.

Mrs. Weezer, on the other hand, was raised in a household where they ate whatever they could shoot or catch. They would trap muskrat and sell the fur - basement would be full of stretchers. But they'd freeze the meat and once a year, have a muskrat "feast." I would stay home for that one - the smell of it cooking nauseated me.

(Tastes just like chicken, she'd tell me.)

As others have said a bit of both is best.

I think you choose the seafood for the subtelty of delicate flavours, with the sort of sweet yet startchy flavour, whereas meat can give you a variety of textures and flavours, from game (wild birds, venison etc. for that starchy, earthy wood flavours, to cattle for its richness in steak, medium rare please.

Favourite at the moment is pork belly, bloody lovely.

Score fatty skin side with criss-cross pattern, rub salt into scores. rub salt and black petter to underside.

1/5hr at 220c, turn down to 180c for 1hr.

Lift then place prepared vegetables in tray used for cooking, stir around to coat veg, then place pork belly back on top of veg.

Cook for 1hr at 180c more.

Gives you a nice crackling surface with melt in the mouth meat, and the fat on the meat does wonders for the flavour.

WARNING! can help make you fat as part of a non-calorie controlled fat regime! LOL!

I was looking over the cooking forum. It is interesting how or what people eat. I guess you eat however you a brought up. Until some day down the road you expand your taste buds and try new things. I would never eat a Muskrat, I have had squirrel and like a lot of other foods in depends on a lot of factors.

Quality of the meat

Time of year

Where it is obtained

Quality of the cook

What part of the meat.

There are a lot of factors involved, you could have the freshest steak or lobster and somebody could ruin it when they cook it. And the next it could be fabulous. I love a great juicy steak. And my favorite fish is Sea Bass, people call about ten different fish Sea Bass. There really is no Sea Bass. I am talking about the Patagonian Tooth Fish from the southern waters of Patagonia (Southern South America) or close to it. It is a just a fabulous fish, nice fillets. I have cooked it several ways and it is always good.

This is the Sea Bass that you would normally get a a good restaurant. Since the fish is getting scarce, so 90% is illegal. I heard just don't buy it and they won't be catching it illegally. But it is just a great fish. A little pricey about $15 a pound.

I love you steak Olive, Lets eat it.
