In case you folks forgot, the tube( at its current setting) came as a standard perk from the original game you bought at the store. If you were to play on another clan server, chances are they dont have the technical end like xi to modify damage, or get rid of it...some do, i know, but most dont. Thirdly, if you think, other than ping or lawless, that the tubers are outscoring the diehard run and gun folks, stay around long enough to check the scores at the end of the round. Most times the r &g guys are still dominating to the point you might wanna spec them, just in case. I like using a toob, i like spamming if i killed someone with it..and yes, for those who know me i have little skill, sometimes i do better than other times, but i suck pretty bad.. I'm there for the fun of talking smack to people i am familiar with, not to try and WIN,PLACE OR SHOW on every map. Believe me when i tell you my penis is large enough (and that aint saying much, and i know its a joke Zoe...from you its always funny) that i am not even the least bit concerned about my score, who toobed me over and over, who keeps snipin me, who keeps spammin the wall on my position with an rpd or other countless complaints. It's a video game. If i was good enough to become competitive, its promod all the way for money. As it is my favorite method of killing if i can is the stun/frag combo...DA STUNNA!....if i can pull it off. Probably the reason i always am at the bottom. Toobs are hareder to use effectively than some folks are giving credit for. Its funny, my skill is so bad i still cant do well when i'm tubing...maybe you need to up the damage a touch chief???? I prefer my option.. cause.. omg.. if we lower the damage there will be a thread saying "raise he damage of the tubes, i keep leaving the server cause its no fun anymore!!!" I agree with Brotrinde on this. And since the tube has been affectionately now known as the skill cannon, why not make it so in a way that it takes more skill to use it? With regards to sniping, one of the primary reasons why I did not migrate to MW2 even though most of my long time friends did so was that sniping is way tooooooooooo easy there. Sniping in ftag 1 really does require skill, patience and accuracy, but its a fun challenge (BTW, I'm one of the crappiest snipers around). You better time yourself well before you even decide to take the shot. Miss your shot? Then good luck to you. And that is precisely how the sniper class should be and what a potential sniper should consider before even choosing it. But with static scoped sniping, you will find a server full of "snipers". My post wasn't meant to offend anyone, its just my personal opinion. If it did, my apologies. **EDIT my post came too slow. To me, the point of XI..... is having fun and gaming with friends - not getting angry that someone "less skilled" than you, gets a kill or two on you. I have enough drama & strife in my everyday life... XI is my ESCAPE from pressure, stress, & drama - NOT the source of it. Lighten up, drink a beer, smoke a bowl, or whatever you do to relax.... just chill out and enjoy each other's company. If an un-skilled noobie (like me) gets a knife-slice or "noob tube" kill on you - just take it like a man and say "good one, now I keel you". It's not like we are professionals that get paid based on kill ratios.... it's supposed to be for FUN. Seems like I've eaten a lot of spawn nades & spawn-kills from the same guys that bitch about "noobs with tubes" - what's the real difference? A cheap kill is a cheap kill, whether by noobs or by pro's. Just depends how much you really care about such trivial things. Don't get mad about it... GET EVEN. If your skills are really that much better, it WILL show in the end. But ultimately, as long as you have fun with friends... who cares what the hell the scores are or who finishes first? Yes, fun. People play against each other with guns & both generally have fun in the interaction, win or lose. When a person uses a tube, there's no fun interaction on both parts. The person with the tube ploops their tube in the general vicinity & the other person(s) immediately die. There was no chance for fun for the other person. One or two people doing this changes the whole flow of a server. And it isn't just one or two kills because there are those who will suicide & refill on tubes to do it again... all map. If you had a server with nothing but tubers, there would be no action, because they would all be sitting waiting for someone else to come by to ploop on. The people who want to have tubes in EVERY server are saying 'don't take my fun away from me which consists of taking the fun away from other people.' People get in fights with guns in a server, & from time to time think 'that was a good fight'.. 'that was fun', win or lose..I do. People get tubed don't think, man that was a good fight, man that was fun. The only person had fun was the person spamming the tube. A sniper takes me down on the run, I usually think 'good shot', because he actually had to hit me with that bullet... a tube in my general vicinity takes me down on the run...I'm not thinking good shot. It doesn't require making a server without any explosives or kill streaks It doesn't require taking tubes away from everyone in every or any other server. Just make ONE server without tubes, or tubes toned down. It's a relatively simple, quick & easy fix. Don't know why all the controversy. It will just provide a fair opportunity for a sizeable portion of people that would like to play in a server like that. Don't know why people who like to tube complain about that request.
