As many of you know, I had serious issues with my ears recently, and i got falsely diagnosed with a tumour in my ear. So all is good there (phew!). However the pain and problems were still there and the specialist couldn't give me a reason for it. Anyway I went on vacation last month for a week, which meant no gaming, or use of my gaming headset (Sennheiser P350). By the end of the week my ears were back to normal. As soon as used them again for about a week, I was getting the same symptoms again!!! The headset is great, particularily the build quality. However it must be a mismatch between the shape of my head!!! and the pressure points this headset exerts on the Eustachian Tubes running from my ears down the side of my neck. The headset is one where your ears are totally enclosed, and the faux leather sits around the ears, causing excess pressure over long periods of gaming use. In short, I don't want to say goodbye to a fantastic headset, but the pain is too great... Please, please, please post replies with the best gaming headsets on the market, that will not cause me these issues. P.S. Money is no object. Thanks from a desperate fellow gamer

A tough call to answer your request as so many of the headsets are of similar design. I'm pleased with my Steelseries Siberia V2 and its USB soundcard but that resembles, superficially at least, what you are trying to get away from. Perhaps an improvised solution is the way to go. In-ear 'phones would not squeeze your ears and you could rig a mic anywhere. Are there any shops that don't have the gaming headsets sealed inside awful plastic bubble packaging so the customer can try them on before buying? Good luck with the quest, mate! I had a Steelseries 5H V2 before and it was a real nice headset...light and the sound was not this bad now I have a Logitech G35 and its a little heavier and it puts a little more pressure on the ears I would not suggest it to you....though the sound is much better like the Steelseries
 (did i say that right? the accent i meen? lol j/k) alot of my friends laugh and call me the operator when i got them on or they ask if i'm landing planes.....G/L

I am not sure what your law over there says about buying on internet. But here, I can order anything and try it out, but I have to report by their site that : "I don't like it" or "didn't meet my requirements" like that. By that I need to report and send it back within, I believe 8 days here. You must have a law that covers 'internet selling or buying' or 'buy online', or try some or visit a shop to test some headsets mate. /Edit: Just that we don't know your condition and we all love to help, like above. I have a set of JVC headphones that enclose my ear. The padding around the outside of the ear appears to be made of foam rubber and a faux leather cover. It appears that if you slice a section where it puts pressure on your ear tubes, even a small section removed should relieve the pressure placed on your ears. They may not look great but who cares about looks it is always about results and gameability.
 Awards
