just thought i would post here...for those idiots who can actually read...yes...all 5 of em......DOH!!!

I am currently reading SHOGUN by james clavell....this will be my third read of this book it is soooo damn good.

If any of you who read books havent read it, i suggest you get a copy and pile up on the toilet a good bit and read this masterpiece. It is so compelling that one read isnt enough to grasp the enormity of the whole.

If any idiots have any other good suggestions, post here.....yeah, and comics and Dr Suess are always a good read too. There, i beat you to the joke...hahahahaha!!!

The last book came out a couple of weeks back from Robert Jordans series A wheel of Time so I'm just about to listen to the last one had to go back 2 books to review. After that its Terr Practhett Diskworld. Also  Vince Flynn released a new one that I'll be gettting to right after I finnish the Wheel of Time. Its been a great start to the year for books I'd say.

Just finished reading that saga a week ago all i can say is wow best fiction saga i have ever read.

I am currently reading 3 books right now, first one is Shock Troops By Tim Cook its part 2 of 1 about canadians fighting in the great war and looks more at the fighting skills of the canadians from 1916/17-1918.

The second book i am reading is called A Most Dangerous Book by Christopher B Krebs, this one is about the roman historian Tacitus and his writeing of Germania and how it relates to the nazis self image of themselves......(this one is a bit more dry compared to the other 2).

The third one is Legends of the Samurai by Hiroaki Sato, and talks  more about the orgins of the samurai and other specific details in terms of the way of the warrior.... (I have a hard time remembering the names of the people that are listed in this book because i dont know how to pronounce it properly, but at least i will have practice by the time i am done reading it).

I am book 9 of the Malazan series now - I also read Ian Esselmont's books which are set in the same world. If you like these and the Rothfuss books try Robin Hobb and Gregory Keyes out.

My teen girls like the Crank series, Hunger Games series, and the City of Blood series. If you have teens who read give them the books.

R.A. Salvatore is my favorite author. Reading the Hunters Blade series now. I have all his books in pdf format for use on my andriod phone and my kids tablets.

Also the Game of Thrones series is a good read. Miniseries was real good too.

About to read Mein Kampf.

Then there is the old standby..........The Hobbit.

The whole Ender's series (both the original three and the second three) are good, I agree.  I also like some military sci-fi stuff.  Anything by Jerry Pournelle, and the stuff he wrote with Larry Niven.  Plus, any other Card stuff - Hart's Hope is an awesome book.

I was arrested one time over a book.....handcuffed, belt removeds and shoelaces too....the whole damn thing.....

I was on a night service call years ago when I pulled into a dunkin doughnuts to get a coffee....so kid I went to school with and didnt get along well with was now a cop...in the dunkin doughnuts....he kinda knew me from high school and didnt like me to well so he started to harass me a bit...how the times had changed....anyhow....

he called in my license and there was an outstanding warrant for my arrest....I was like WTF?? Really? for what?? he said it doesnt say but its from 1989....I was like hmmm....could be anything really...I dont really remeber 1989 so well....anyhow....bam...arrested....

Fast forward to the next morning....I grab a local lawyer and proceed to court the next day...after getting bailed out at 3 am and such.....my lawyer goes upstairs to find out what the warrant is for....he comes back and loudly announces in the court room that he cant belive what he just heard about me and marches me outside....now everyone in court is looking at me like a serial killer and I am like oh shit....I wonder what the hell I did....

We get outside and he says...did you forget to return a library book in 1988??? Well...the judge didnt know what the hell to do and adjourned my case until I could make contact with the library...which I did after looking through my books and shit I had found the one in question....BTW this is all in 1996....like they couldnt find me before? ANyhow....the lady at the library didnt know what to do so she charged my $20.00 in fines and let me keep the book....I go back to court and the judge fined me $20 more and court costs....then the lawyer charged me $250.00....

So now there is a file on me somewhere regqarding my lawless ways....

I still own the book....ready for this??

"Practical Chess Endgames"

Good lord....

think im going to start this series after im done with A Song of Fire and Ice, on last book now and itll be a little bit til his next book.

One of my favorite books was Battlefield Earth-A Saga of the Year 3000. by  L. Ron Hubbard.(yes i know his a weird one) but this book was a great and epic science fiction novel.(ive read it 4 times in the past years at a 1000+ pages) and of course John Travolta made a movie about it (i cried when i saw it :cray:), one of the worst movies ever!!!  it could of been a great movie!

Battlefield Earth was a great book. The movie SUCKED and not being a Travolta fan made it SUCK THAT MUCH MORE!

I still have all three pieces of my well worn copy.

The rise and fall of the Third Reich, i have had that book now for about 30 years, had 3 goes at it and failed, i am really interested in all the Hitler stuff too, don't know why i couldn't get into it, maybe because it starts with Hitlers parents or Grandparents or something i believe....oh i dunno my head hurts now just thinking about it, i bought "Citizen Soldiers" a few years ago to take with me on holiday but then always change to something a bit lighter when the time comes.
