People can say " i knew you were there blah blah blah"...but i think thats bullshit. Anyone who is able to see through thick fresh smoke is cheating....you have an unfair advantage that is not along with the game design.....i dont know how it is...but i would swear on anything itts happening.....does it stop me from playing????? or complaining???? Hide in the shadows and you are near invisible. So its a trade off. Is seeing through smoke worth having a hard time seeing people in dark areas? In darker maps without much ambient light it is probably near impossible to play. I suppose in this server maybe have a better mix of normal and darker maps. Such people would likely leave. We also have an option to turn most of the smoke off in the game settings. Not sure how it works on COD4 but smoke doesn't offer a lot of protection on our server. The same way you can't see the screen cues of someone using a hack by spectating them. But...Alot of people spam smoke looking for a lucky hit, after all if you see smoke you can almost guarantee someone is behind it or running through it. On another note Alot of people have they're graphics cranked Down the whole way and Several dozen Console commands set to get every advantage that they can possibly get.Which isn't really fair either.Those said Console commands can be locked Server side just like the Max FPS. There are 1,336 COD4 Console Commands.Alot of ways to Cheat just by setting up your Config.Several of them can remove objects or thin them out such as lodscalerigid. As far as hiding in shadows most folks is run and gun and anyone who is good enough always checks familiar and good hiding spots...so thats never an issue. im not one to accuse folks...im a bit of a complainer......but im not alone in this....something is definitely going on with the smoke thing...alot of us suffer for it in game and it sure dont feel quite right. Most folks usually can tell whats up after their initial whining...we've all played long enough to know the difference. i would video someone but my time is always limited and i hate spending anytime whatsoever not playing as opposed to speccing I AM DA GAMECHANGER AND I LOVE WHINING IN THE FORUM INSTEAD OF SPECCING!!!!!!!!!!!! They will likely tell you that they turn it off because they get much higher FPS, which is true. Still, it doesn't change the fact that some folks abuse it. This is much different than the first few seconds or last seconds of smoke being thrown....lots of times I'll shoot someone that is running through the tail end of smoke or right after smoke has been thrown. They are still visible and don't' realize it. Key to smoke, wait a few seconds before you go through it....but don't wait too long...haha Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options... In EU Leagues it has been marked as a cheat, but still, there's no way anyone can tell if it is on or off...
