I downloaded a piece of software called Motioininjoy which installed the custom drivers on my system (although, they weren't signed drivers). I ran a virus scan on the downloads before I used them and they came up clean but after googling more about it, it said that some people thought there would be a trojan in the software or other malicious kinds of things. I uninstalled the drivers using the software it came with, uninstalled the program and completely wiped it from my system and checked my Device Manager which looked to be okay. Sure, it might sound A-OK but with me, I worry about EVERY little thing and the worst case scenario (due to anxiety disorder). Right now, I am running a virus scan in my main Windows folder. Nothing so far. How can I make sure that everything IS gone and that there is nothing bad lurking in my system? Should I do a system restore to yesterday? I am just worried that there is a bad file lurking about even AFTER the drivers have been uninstalled, the program deleted and anything I could find associated with it. As it is a Trojan, it can do all sorts of horrible crap to my computer. Such as key logging and things like that. The stuff I downloaded was here if anyone wants to check them out and help me put my mind at ease: http://motioninjoy.en.uptodown.com/ and here: http://betterds3.ciebiera.net/ Edited March 19, 2015 by DeathWaveUK Awards

Just go to the utility and choose a backup date that is prior to when you downloaded the drivers. You'll lose anything else that you downloaded since that point but if there is a virus that should get it. Awards

If it is a trogan then reinstalling the OS is the only sure way of getting rod of it. If you have AV running and the software had a trogan I would think it would have giving you a waring or red flag. The non signed driver is because the maker didn't want to pay Microsoft to certification. If the hardware didn't fuck up doubt a trogan was apart of the driver.

Most malware stays on one PC unless you start sharing documents between the two PC's And you can run security essentials but if you plan on running malware bytes thats pretty much unneccesary hxtr 1

I've done it about a dozen times for friends and family members with complete success. Unless you have a virus or malware that disables or deletes the restore points, there isn't any reason it shouldn't work. I've even used it twice on PC's with ransomware by running sys restore from the utility screen on start-up and was able to completely eliminate the ransomware. I know that people say that viruses infect restore points while leaving them in tact, but I haven't seen it happen yet. Awards
