Any woodworkers out there?
ViPRZ and one other reacted to DrDysl3xia for a topic
Wood workers yes. We have routers and much other but no CNC machine. That would make some beautiful art. I'll take a picture of the shop when the Sun comes up. We had to shutdown our cutting board and other gift shop type wood art due to.... COVAD-1984 so we changed our focus to cabins. We are almost done with this unit. I'll show you our hand crafted boxes out of Juniper. The Redwood live edge on the Cabins look amazing.2 points -

Desert Loner in the mountains
Hunter1948 reacted to DrDysl3xia for a topic
Hi Everyone, I'm DrDysl3xia. I use to play Minecraft but can't due to my connection. Part of living in the desert and well worth it I must say. I live in Bisbee Arazona about 27 miles from Tombstone if in Town. 35 miles give or take from the mountain. I have few humans to interact with but I have plenty of Muel Deer, cows, snakes, lizards, rabbits, scopions, cetepeeds, spiders, mice, rats, Killer Bees, Qual, mocking birds and so many other types of birds and bugs to keep me company. Plus my dog. I would probably go nuts without my dog but I also don't miss humans at all. Im on a very large property 700 acers in total but live on a 80 acer lot next to another 40 acers about 100 yards from me on the other side of the arorra I call Mars. It looks like Mars. We are building off grid cabins on 10 acer lots for a living. My only bills is gas for a generator to run the well once every 3 monmths. Stupid cows ate the wires back to the battery room but soon it will be all solar again. I bought 20 very nice solar pannels so they will be put to good use. I have amazing well water and the animals I leave it out for seem to liike it as well. SInce we had no monsoon this year they need all the water they can get. Just wish the cows would not crap all over the place. They do it on purpose and if you seen what these cows will eat much like a goat, oil, diesal fuel, plastic, wire, you name it the cows will try and eat it. I am 6 miles from Mexio and I see them working on the boarderwall every evening for the past 6 months. They must have a Sun generator because the lights are annoyingly bright. Speaking of that Air Force on flew by a few times last month or Augest. You don't see many planes here so it was quite something to see 10 degrees above eye level. Being at 5000 feet I see Mexico, and the mountains behind Tuson some 90 miles away. I can go on for days about this place as you can tell and you probably noticed I can't spell for crap. No spell checker for some reason so please forgive. OK that's that. Take car, DrDysl3xia1 point -
What you have to understand is that the world needs a vaccine from @RobMc - unfortunately there will never be one1 point

COVID-19 SURVIVORS
Majbasil reacted to PimpedOutPete for a topic
Thank you Sharp, with respect those are estimates of potential spread and do not account for the solid data of known mortality rates. The US is going through a spike as we speak and hospital rates will begin to climb putting stress on the entire system. This then delays surgeries and life saving treatments. Please everyone, just do your part . Thank you https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality1 point -

DrDysl3xia reacted to Sharpe for a topic
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/planning-scenarios.html Halfway down the page under current best estimate we have an infection fatality rate of : 0-19 years: 0.003% 20-49 years: 0.02% 50-69 years: 0.5% 70+ years: 5.4% This puts the cdc best current infection fatality rate at 0.65%, although earlier in the year they had it the same as Ioannidis at 0.26%. https://reason.com/2020/07/23/there-is-more-than-one-covid-19-infection-fatality-rate/. I'll be travelling into the city here in an hour, I'm unconcerned.1 point -

COVID-19 SURVIVORS
DrDysl3xia reacted to lTplkey336 for a topic
In all fairness, in your other post you said you live in the middle of nowhere , away from people, so why would you need to be concerned with flu or covid. It would be a different story if you lived in a big city , or a highly populated area.1 point -

I was sick with an upper repository infection in Feb, absolutely miserable for a bit. Had a test recently and it showed no covid antibodies, so it's at least 55% not covid. Uncle and aunt had certified covid in NY, they are recovered thankfully. Their kids had symptoms but not certified covid. It is a real thing, be careful, don't say you had it unless you have been tested that you did. Go on and live your life, as my grandfather used to say: Thought thought he had glass ass and died standing.1 point
