Some of you have probably seen the reports of the tragedy that not only happened in my neighborhood (5 houses down!) but also struck my firefighter family last night. Many of you may (or may not) know that I have been volunteering at the Sterling Volunteer Fire Company for the past 15 years. Last night my wife and I were finishing our dinner when I noticed a dispatch on my cell phone for an outside gas leak just up the street from my house. These are generally routine calls, however, last night was anything but normal. Our crews arrived on scene to find an underground 500 gallon propane tank leaking. As they normally do, they request a hazardous materials response to assist with these types of calls. Within seconds the home literally exploded. Our house shook like a plane crashed on it. I bolted out front and saw the huge plume of smoke and a fireball that was taller than the trees. I immediately knew what happened. As a company photographer I grabbed my boots and my camera and bolted. I was there in less than 3 minutes after the blast. It was literally like a war zone. We lost a brother last night. And 7 others from my fire company were severely injured. A few were released this morning, but others remain in the hospital. Please say a prayer for them all..... I want to thank those of you that reached out to me this morning. You have no idea how much that means to me. My wife and I, and our house are fine. We are devastated at the loss of our beloved friend firefighter Trevor Brown. And we are anxious to get the rest of our firefighters out of the hospital. Please keep them all in your prayers.... My Wife developed atrial fibrillation this past summer and has been trying several ways to get her life back to normal. Lifestyle and diet changes and medications galore but she is still struggling from the serious fatigue that can come from this. Very early this morning I took her to the Hospital for her Ablation procedure. I can't stay with her during this since it is a out-patient procedure they will do today. She will be put under and have a "minor" invasive procedure while she is out on her Heart to laser the area that is short circuiting and kill those cells. This allows the Heart to rewire itself and get back to normal rhythm/beating and normal blood flow. But I am hoping for some XI love towards her because anytime they put you under it is Major and she is my much better half and my ride or die partner in crime. Thanks in advance for everyone's good vibrations for her quick recovery.

Condolences to you and your department on your loss. As a former 15 year fire-rescue/EMS volunteer I can understand the difficult time his family -- and your department -- is in now. As the incident was happening, I texted a friend who is a Loudoun County firefighter just to make sure he and his father (also Loudoun County FD) were ok. Yep nice to support the dealers but I've taken it up the ass so many times from our local dealers I just gave up. once the warranty is gone so am I. I bought my last vehicle 60 miles away in a different city. Saved almost $4000 but since Covid that excuse has stopped all price comparisons. Dealers have a pay or screw off attitude.

@SGTSmeg Our Prayers go out to your family including your firefighting brothers and sisters. Seems like these types of things are making the news more often as infrastructure is falling apart all over the country. I hope those guys all make a full recovery and can return to their loved ones. I am so grateful knowing our local fire dept has a station just 10 blocks from our house. @SGTSmeg Omg Just reading this now. So sorry to hear this sad news. Every day our essential service providers and our first responders are out there dedicating themselves for our benefit. Too often we the general public go through our daily lives without a worry in the world we sometimes take our safety for granted.. It is events like these where we see, understand, and appreciate the true value of those who have the calling to serve in harms way. My sincere condolences to all those affected by this tragedy and loss. Wayne

As I lived in Ashburn for years, I know the area extremely well. Been following this (as well as the plane landing on Ashburn (Loudoun County) Parkway last month) and it is so so so very tragic this happened! OMG! Not sure if folks realize that Loudoun County, VA has an all VOLUNTEER Fire Dept. These are heros all of them. That one of yours died, and so many others were burned and wounded by debris is heartbreaking. I am so sorry for you, for Sterling, for all the firemen/women of Loudoun County, apparently even a Fairfax fireman was hurt (Sterling is not far from the Fairfax County border.) Was doing researching and I ran across this. Nitric Oxide is responsible for many things like males ability to get it up, @TBB is a good example... and for woman's agility to get off @Icequeen is a good example. One thing that kills the ability is when you lack Nitric Oxide. Your mouth produces Nitric Oxide and if you use mouthwash it kills the needed bacteria that produces it. Talk about a fun fact..... we all want our Nitric Oxide even if you cut your junk off, because it does much more for the body. Lacking it will mess you up and clearly is responsible for many ailments. This doctor proves Doctors and Dentist are messing your up from old stupid medical practices. This is why I tell my doctor NO half the time. NO I am not taking a Flu shot, no I am not taking a modRNA shot, No I am not taking a phenomena shot. That is stupidity to take them.
