Some people were complaining about my ping and lag, and I thought why not just move to the States to fix it, so here I am! But yeah, I am here for work. I usually just say I work in education since I have a few different roles. I came to the U.S. as a visiting scholar last year, and I’ll be leaving soon. Back in Türkiye, I have two jobs. I work full-time at a university, and tutor K-12 students in reading and literature in the evenings. I’ve had more flexible work hours here, which gave me more time to travel. I’ve been to North Carolina, Chicago, Miami, Washington DC, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas so far. New York will probably be my next destination. I may visit some other cities as well, and I’m open to any suggestions you might have before I leave.

I've been seeing and hearing complaints about the maps on COD4 a lot lately, so I wanted to address a few things. Here are some things you may or may not know about maps and rotations: 1. The game is almost 20 years old, so there are not a ton of new maps coming out anymore. 2. Of the 2,000 ish maps in the COD4 downloader, only about 550 or so actively work on the mw2 freezetag mod. 3. Also, many of the maps are made for deathrun, zombie, sniper only, etc., and will not work with the freezetag mod. 4. Maps that haven't been tested - that requires time and effort. Need at least one admin and two other volunteers to test maps. The maps have to be uploaded, made sure they don't crash the server, test for killstreaks and make sure round changes don't crash. I've found that for every 30 or so maps that I've uploaded, about half crash the server, so that narrows the testing choices by 50% right there. 5. There are currently 75+ rotations that have been created by many admins, members, and non-members. We go through those rotations on a mostly weekly basis, and yes, some maps are repeated if they are in several rotations. If you've created a rotation and we've used it, it won't come back around for quite some time as we work through all the other rotations. If you submit more than one rotation, the subsequent rotations need to be different than the first one, or else it won't get used as a unique rotation. 6. If you want to help with map testing or creating a rotation, please let me know. We can set up some sort of schedule if enough people want to help test maps. I can also give you the guidelines for creating a rotation. 7. And finallly, it's not easy or likely to please everyone. Some complain it's the same old maps, others complain when there are new maps that they don't know. There are complaints from people who don't like sniper maps, or they don't like small maps, and so on. Map rotations are generally created to include small, medium, and large maps (usually 3-4), so that all playing styles can have fun in the server. A total of 25 maps is the ideal number for a rotation. If you have any questions or concerns, you can send me a pm. I hope that this has helped you gain a better understanding of what it takes to keep the COD4 freezetag servers running with map rotations that are changed more often than most other games that XI hosts.

I've unlocked this post so that people will see it again... Just to clarify - I do not create a new rotation myself each week. There are over 75 rotations that have been made over the last 3-4 years or so, and I circle through those once a week for the most part. Rotations have been made by admins, clan members, and non-clan members, and anyone is welcome to submit a rotation that works within the parameters of what a rotation should be. Hi there! Steam cd keys are not more longer active to multiplayer since endind 2020. This is because they got out of MP CdKeys in Activision. Some time ago, they added some more cdkeys for a short time, like 2021 October until 2022 December. Since then the ONLY way to activate a Steam CDKEY for MP is an old CDKEY that WAS ACTIVE BEFORE 2020 or an ACCOUNT STEAM ACTIVE BEFORE 2020. But...... The Thing and great news if you still want play MP is you can bought a CDKEY from retail version disk, no matter time was made, and get the CDKEY to activate it. Then you can add that game, because you will have to install it as cd install again (new install) as usual, then add the route to the .exe to your steam games library and you will have the game in your library steam to start it from there, or desktop icon for launch game. Also, there is a trick for the register windows, where you can change the cdkwy actually set up in your game and then copy the steam account game register adress and paste there the new cdKey wich will allow you to play with the original Steam game you had installed before. THe route for Windows Registry to change your ID and CDKEY is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Activision\Call of Duty WAW Note: On 32-bit systems, it may be HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Activision\Call of Duty WAW. Here a way to go guide to help: To change the CD Key for Call of Duty: World at War (CoD WaW) via the Windows Registry—often required to fix "key in use" or "invalid key" errors when playing online—you must modify the registry entry and restrict permissions to prevent Steam from reverting it. Registry Key Location The CD key is located in the Windows Registry at: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Activision\Call of Duty WAW Note: On 32-bit systems, it may be HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Activision\Call of Duty WAW. Steps to Change CD Key Open Registry Editor: Press Windows Key + R, type regedit, and hit Enter. Navigate: Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Activision\Call of Duty WAW. Modify Codkey: Find the key named codkey on the right side. Right-click it, select Modify, and paste your new working key. Important: Enter the key without hyphens (e.g., ABCD1234ABCD1234ABCD). Prevent Reversion (Permissions): Steam often resets this key. To prevent this, right-click the Call of Duty WAW folder on the left pane and select Permissions. Restrict Access: Click Advanced. Uncheck "Allow" for all users (or just for Steam/SYSTEM) and ensure only Read is permitted. Click Apply. Fixing "Profile Could Not Be Created" If the key change does not allow you to create an online profile, it may be due to improper key formatting or permission issues. Remove Hyphens: Ensure the codkey in the registry has no hyphens (-). Run as Admin: Run Registry Editor as an Administrator to ensure permission changes apply. I've been working at it. Found the hard limits pretty fast. I had to rebuild using much larger pieces. I think I could add 2 maybe 3 buildings in a realistic map.

Has anyone ever tried to make a full building like this? Thoughts on how it would play out?

Hi there. Maybe and just as a simple suggestion, you could link the destroyable builds to Bomb emplacements A and B (just 2 builds where the Bomb are located in SD) That will do most realistic and great for players some class of real destroy zones. Also, taking a close look to the point, create some expolosions with animated views of those destroyable builds, lets say is a bridge, like in the map mp_bridge_2011 from Icey, that will add some immersive plays to the game. I like to play on XI servers because of community. On other servers I often experience an obvious cheater spoiling game for 10 people. That rarely happens on XI servers.

Here are some specific about me - French canadian for those who heard me talk you probably know it - Physics teacher on break to take care of the kids - Love sport, my main sport is Ultimate Frisbee but I also bike and ski as much as I can My guilty pleasure on this forum has been to put a face on the people that I have been playing with for the last several years so I will return the favor. (most of you mispronounce my nickname, but I'm already used to it :D) I would say that I played with you for the first time about 7-8 years ago. I like that most of your members (at least that's my impression) are more mature. That's one of the reasons why I'm "stuck" with you :D. Socializing through the game on your server has a relaxing effect on me (mostly :D). I'm sure some of you have a different experience. I look forward to meeting you again on one of your servers.
