Since the end of BF1942 I have said they need to support modding.  They said "Its too difficult to implement with our new engine".  Yet here it is.  A mod for BF.  A texture pack.

Please don't buy in to this bullshit.  Bring games back to the way they were.

I will not be being this POS for the $69.99 they want.  I hope you all do the same.

Like I said, I'll probably buy it black friday when it is 20 dollars. I never pay full price for games.

And to be honest I had fun with it, but it was kind boring and gimmicky after awhile. I prefer BF4, and will probably play BF4 until BF5 or a new 2142 style comes out.

By the time this comes out, there'll be BF4 DLC with close-in warfare too. No point buying hardline there. And when BF4 gets old, DayZ will be in full swing and the mod scene there will be flying, so I'll just go stalk and murder people in that.

I will, I will, not buy this game. The only appeal to me is the new map, nothing more. If it grabs your fancy, then go for it!

I don't really care about mod support. It's great for DayZ and the simple stuff that CSGO/CSS have with the different steam workshop weapons.

I don't like where Hardline is right now because it's just eh. It's not hard to play, a bit easier than BF4. Character models look a bit shit, and some of the guns are meh.

Like Mouse said, if it drops to $30 like BF4 did at Thanksgiving time, I'll probably pick it up, but not for full retail.

but that guy's math is really off.

BF3 was $60 and $70, Premium was $50. Making it $90 for both before the bundle came out, other wise it was 15$x5 for the DLC (75). Very few people would buy the game, then buy it again for $70-80 as a Premium bundle.

BF4 was the same way. $60 for regular, $70 for Limited Edition, and $50 for Premium.

BF3: 60+50, 70+50, or 125 (w/ LE purchse)- 135(w/o LE Purchase).  Not to mention that as the game got closer to ending, Premium was discounted for however many Maps you'd already bought. I think mine was only $15-20.

BF4: 60+50, 70+50, or 125 (w/ LE purchse)- 135(w/o LE Purchase).

They're pushing the $70 version of Hardline with some 10 week online access thing. Idk what it's about and I don't care.

either way, ~270$ =/= $400. It's a common complaint that people have with EA, but they're mathematically incorrect, unless they're talking about someone who isn't going to buy premium and save themselves $25 each time they buy a new BF game.

69 bucks? When did prices go up from 59? Mod support is important however. Not because of the money. But because it allows us to enhance a game in the ways we like. Not in the ways they want. It is not possible for a game to be all things to all people unless it can be modded by others.

Kind of bold move to make after the fuck up with bf4, with that said people will still buy it and they will still make cash grabs, after all it's still a business. Cod is doing it as well, the gamers will have to step up and show them what they want, but that is only said but never happens as the rest just idle while you get screwed out of your hard worked money

Except they are also being hurt by the growing indie business. The games are not nearly as flashy or full of gimicks but can still be really fun. And they are much cheaper. Not to mention the continuing Steam sales. Why buy BF4 when not to long ago you could get BF3 for free? Or get the premium version for 30 bucks? Is it no wonder that the regular price of cod4 these days is still 20 bucks?

why buy it ....it will be an incomplete game that you will have to end up buying more map packs and perks...they are making a fortune by doing this...and morons keep paying for it....so they keep selling these incomplete games

I just laugh at all the people that say they will keep playing bf4, I mean seriously you paid money for an expansion on bf3 that is still not fixed.  Oh well whatever floats your boats.  I will just keep on playing cod4 or cod2 they at least are tried and true games that have there quirks but you get more bang for your buck with them.

So what a lot of us like it.The game works fine for me and a lot of others.I kind of get tired of playing 8 year old games. You want them to give you mod and map tools and get the game for free?I'm looking at all of our servers now and I see only 12 people and they are playing COD4 MW2FT and 1 on the COD 4 Ace and there are 35 players on 1 BF4 server and it's 6 am EST.So I'd say BF4 is hopin'.It's not as bad as some of you think and I can't wait till the next 2 DLC map pack come out.I'd say for most of you it's money and the type of machine you have. That's about it.

EA is literally the devil, they buy and sell companies to remove competition, they kill games in the sake of profits.

I had a whole copy-paste of their horrible history but I can't find it.

will not be buying

I won't be buying it either. I'm not impressed and I don't want to be playing cops and robbers either. I'm surprised they are making a game with this mindset especially with the increase in police brutality in the states on the rise.

So, at 6am EST/3am PST on a weekday, you only see 12 people on the FT server and think those are bad numbers for a game that was released 7 years ago?? I'm sorry, but there is no way you will win this argument. I get tired of people buying into the yearly release of the same game bullshit and are perfectly okay paying top dollar for it. You fail to realize the beauty of games like COD that are able to be modded and ran EXACTLY how we want on our own dedicated server and provide MANY years of entertainment for VERY little cost. In 7 years, do you think people will give two shits about BF4?? Thousands of maps for free, along with the free mods provide longevity to communities like ours. With so many games releasing the same bullshit every six months to a year, we will start to see players spread across a lot of games and clans like ours will suffer. It's not about the money; its the principal..

So, to answer your question; YES, I want mods and map tools included in all games. I'm happy to pay for the game itself.

Deemer you won't see it happening. The last few COD games I bought all had DLC's,Ghost,Black Ops,Titan Fall. The only one that I can think of that has map tools is RedOrchestra.Almost like buying a car and waiting for a mod to come out to make your own gas.LOL.They all want money. Before COD games you got mod and map making tools. Those days are gone.

This game is just more of the same. It might be a good game but so what? Why exactly buy it? Because other people buy into the system and get it? And if you want to play them you have to get the game also? This industry counts on it and for awhile now they have been winning. Money is certainly an issue and 'premium' makes it worse. Want to stay with the cool kids? Gotta pay up. Masses of people are generally stupid. Group think tends to get them to do things they wouldnt choose to do on their own.

For me Adam Sandler movies suck balls for example. But I know others love them. What if a friend, that loves his movies, refuses to see anything else? Pony up the bucks and go also? Or say no thanks? Except when I say no thanks then I am the bad guy.
