Even if she was starting the fight.. she won't do much damage hitting him.. he will do a lot of damage hitting her. He should have thought or if he was really scared for his safety (which i don't think he was looked much like a punch out of anger than defense) he could have just restrained her. I've had to do it when a woman has tried to attack me, and i had no problems with it and im an out of shape fatass. I'm sure an in shape NFL star wouldnt had had any issues. What did he think would happen to her? This country tends to frown upon striking a woman for any reason barring an actual fear of serious injury. In any case the criminal charges he is facing are light. Possibly eventually removed from his record entirely. The NFL is a private organization and can do what they see fit. Same with whether or not the NBA can force an owner to sell his team for being caught on tape making some racist comments to a girlfriend.... which isnt even enough for a minor charge. They should face the exact same consequences for their actions as men do, and the idea that they should get a 'free pass' from being hit when a man in the exact same situation would be, simply because of their gender, is pathetic and sexist. Back when I was young and newly married my wife who come to find out had lots of mental and health problems, decided she was angry enough at me to accost me personally. I remained calm and grabbed her by her wrist and restrained her . I also told her very calmly, " I reserve the right to protect myself from anyone including you!" She seemed to realize if she kept going that she would be the ultimate looser and stopped and calmed down immediately!"
