We're heading to 13th century Hever Castle, tomorrow morning, for our nephew's wedding to his New York State-based fiancée.

After the ceremony and evening celebrations we'll be staying in the luxury bed and breakfast accommodation there.

It'll be the first (and probably only) time we'll be sleeping at a castle!

Here's a short video of what the place looks like:

We shan't be able to take pictures inside the actual castle - lots of old and fine artwork etc.

If it's not too freezing cold, I may be able to snap a few on Sunday morning outside.

This castle was the home of Anne Boleyn - the executed second wife of King Henry VIII.

Oooohhhhhhh!!!!

Yes yes I know all about that. I've actually read many Tudor books and the history behind Anne Boleyn and her sister Mary. And their love triangle with the King. Now I really am jealous of you. :P. Have a blast.

Some of our castles in England are just beautiful. My nearest is Dover. It's a beautiful place but sadly some of it isn't open to the public. You are very limited in what you can do there. BUT, have fun tomorrow and try to get some pictures of the outside of Hever! It's a spectacular building. I THINK I went there once as a kid, I might not be sure but either way, all the best!

Wow really amazing place and what impressive history there, when I was watching the video could stop thinking about how much history and secrets that walls can hold inside. Enjoy it and share your experience when you can back!!!

Well, that was an experience!  The venue was stupendous and the accommodation very comfortable.

There was a blanket ban on all photography inside the castle but one of the bride's relatives who did the

floral displays was allowed to photograph her work before we sat down to the wedding breakfast.  She's

allowed me to share the view...

It was so cold outside, the following morning (the car was encased in ice and the air was -4 degrees C), that I didn't

fancy a stroll in the grounds!
