Reminds me of the Chronicles of Don Juan by Carlos Castaneda.  I remember one of them, where he's hanging out with the Yaqui Bruho, being taught the Way of The (Spiritual) Warrior with Mescaline buttons being a facilitator of visions, guidance & spiritual growth/perspective.    Anyway, he reported back to his mentor, Don Juan what he had experienced & what insights he achieved through his visions & altered/expanded reality.  After commenting on it's meaning for him, & after further inquiry by Carlos about what was going on during this- for him- spiritual encounter from Don Juan's perspective, he shares that he was naked,  chasing the dog around the house, pissing on it... and that the dog later ended up pissing on him.  I know this shit, over the course of several books, was more than likely embellished; but it's fun reading.

Oh it depends on the Sansui item itself.  Some of their speakers got a bad rap because of lack of bass.   But their Amps and Receivers have that "Smooth Analog Sansui Sound" !!  I have a pair of Japan only Sansui SP5000 speakers which are crazy efficient (weigh 100lbs each).  Im talking "Who" level db with ZERO distortion.  And the sound is crazy good.   And some of the SP series speakers where made in collaboration with JBL.   Have a pair of SP3500's which are a JBL/Sansui design.  Those do lack some in the bass.  But when paired with a sub, well they shine.  But you have fan boys of all makes.  I love all my Akai R2R decks, have several Pioneer TT's but my main TT is a Kenwood KP1100.  But I have several higher end Pioneer Receiver's which just dont reach my Sansui 9090db's level of performance.  They are nice, but not quite there.  But overall sound is relevant to each listener.  A simple test..  Listen to any song through speakers (not headphones).  Dial in the "bass, mid, and treble to your liking.  Now for the fun part.   Grab the back of your ear and push it forward just a little.   What happened ???  The overall bass, mid and treble changed !!!  As the shape of ones ear is manipulated the overall eq of the song changes.  So what I find pleasing, may not be pleasing to you, because of the shape of our ears.  I do favor the new Yamaha AV Receiver's, but for music..  Its all vintage for me.

You get my drift.  Two people listening to the same system will hear it differently.  Depends if you have little ears or big ass Dumbo ears !!!  🤣  Akai R2R's just sound good to me.  Those glass heads last forever !!

The Z series receiver you have is a nice receiver.  Around late 70's ?  Those have the spectrum analyzer and the motorized volume, correct ?

I spent mine on a plumber being at my house Monday night because we had no hot water in the master bathroom shower. So for a failed $50.00 part that I can't seem to find for a 15 year old Kohler control knob he had to cut a huge hole in our laundry room wall and rebuild the plumbing in the wall with a new control valve. All this went from $400.00 to $1,400.00 just like that and I still have a huge dry wall jigsaw puzzle to repair. Then he left and the cover for the tube that fills the tub slipped off the pipe and so after 4 horrible reviews on Yelp, Google, BBB, and their Facebook page I have a different plumber coming out tomorrow afternoon to fix what they screwed up on Monday and wanted to charge me $90.00 just to show up. The Plumber was a nice guy don't get me wrong but he screwed up and didn't finish the job right. Plus in a perfect world he would have offered to find the right part that broke and scheduled a time to fix it without ripping my wall open and putting in new pipes and housing for the valve he had on his truck. I would have waited and paid a fair price but $1,400.00 is a lot of money for anyone because since the car wreck at work in Oct. I am still on light duty and working 70% of my hours so we are living on about 1/3 less money each month. So this money came at just the right time. Mike did you hear that Tax Day is now May 17th?
