Today Dad celebrated his 90th Birthday. We are so blessed to have him make this milestone. Over the last 2 years he has really been through a lot of health issues. Many times we thought we were going to loose him. He is a real fighter. He is stable and after congestive heart failure and receiving a pace maker/defibrillator, Kidney failure/Dialysis, breaking his hip and breaking it again. All my siblings are here to celebrate. He was moved to tears and while trying to express how much he loves us all. I won't admit that most of us had tears as well. When you are raised by a such a GREAT man it is impossible not to be emotional. Many of his grandchildren and several of his Great Grandchildren were here to shower him with hugs and kisses. The Love of Family gives him the strength to continue his journey. We had some great Lebanese meals over the last 3 days! It is with great pride I call him Dad. He looks absolutely amazing for a 90 year old. My grandpaw was 82 and looked really rough. He was in 2 wars and worked for the railroad for 30 some years before retiring. Cancer caused by many years of close contact with Asbestos insulated pipes and ducts is what we think made him sick. By the time he started feeling sick enough to see a doctor, it was to late to do anything about. He was like me. He just keeps on fighting a good fight. The nurses in dialysis are always telling him he’s too young looking to be 90 lol, they keep tormenting and teasing him, he loves the attention. He had a new fancy shirt on the other day and one of those fiery nurses told he looked like a PIMP, he laughed his head off. He told everyone at the party.
