  1. A cowboy walks into a bar and takes a seat next to a very attractive woman. He gives her a quick glance then causally looks at his watch for a moment. The woman notices this and asks, "Is your date running late?" "No", he replies,"I just got this state-of the-art watch, and I was just testing it.." The intrigued woman says, "A state-of-the-art watch? What"s so special about it?" The cowboy explains, "It uses alpha waves to talk to me telepathically." The lady says, "What"s it telling you now?" Well, it says you're not wearing any panties." The woman giggles and replies "Well it must be broken because I am wearing panties!" The cowboy smiles, taps his watch and says, "Damn thing's an hour fast."

  10. Chiswick was the only place I could think of, and of course we all know the 'man' you're referring to, although surprisingly he now denies all knowledge, must have Alzheimers? god forbid he gets in, we'll definitely be in trouble then.

  11. I can assure you that my daily ambition was to return home! My misses was scared s***less by the unannounced arrival of PCs at her workplace one day when I was on duty. I dispute the assertion that US police officers have "more experience" - they have a different experience. The police police this country by consent. They are not employees of the state but warranted officers of The Crown. We all recognise(d) that there is/was a risk that police would pay the ultimate sacrifice whilst performing their duty. However, whilst one may be provided with personal protection equipment, risk cannot be entirely removed. I am pleased and relieved that the innocent member of the public wounded by police gunfire in London did not suffer serious injury (but I would not like to be the officer that pulled the trigger... IPCC investigation??). Let the default remain unarmed with the backup provided by specialists.

  12. Yep and what did we do, gave in and made them MP's and gave a pardon? some resolve we have, on our track record parliament will finally be blown up not by Guy Fawkes 2, but by the honourable member from Chiswick accidentally detonating their suicide vest lol!

  13. I'd guessed that me old son, but times do move on, the younger policemen have a different mindset now, they too are worried and not unnaturally want to come home to their families, these are not baddies as we knew them, these people are quite happy to commit suicide for their cause, and their favourite targets are police and servicemen - currently defenceless. I know we have a few ex USA police officers on our forum and would be interested to hear their comments, they have more experience than us, may I remind you of that poor policeman in Belgium, who was armed but was down, they casually walked up to him and finished him off. I too think it a sad day, and sincerely hope you are right, but I can think of no other way to confront armed baddies than better armed policemen, ultimately they need to keep themselves safe and secure to keep the rest of us secure, and that my friend is what it's all about at the end of the day.

  14. You didn't have Islamic terrorists running all over London killing people did you, if they asked the people of this country if they want our Police armed and the death penalty returned i am sure it would be a foregone conclusion.

  15. Hi Deejaykeg, You are correct but that was only introduced around 2005, after much reluctance and being dropped many times since mooted in 2001 as a hot potato, which makes anyone in their teens and over likely not to have done this test, their parents certainly may not speak English, especially the women, there are many articles on this subject by womens rights campaigners. On policemen being armed, I don't know where you get those figures from as they just ain't true mate, and believe me the ones I know, although reluctantly, carry guns on a regular basis, true they are not permanently armed but they are not far removed if necessary. I don't want to say more as you never know who reads this not that I know any more than the average Joe, but reading my local papers gives you enough info. Sorry about the melodrama, but it amazes me how many documentaries are on telly showing us the tricks , weapons and tactics of special forces and police, now is the time to stop these being made and the bad boy prepared for them., it certainly doesn't do much for their safety. If I remember correctly Manchester was the first city to have permanent armed patrols in a certain famous section about 10-15 years ago, it will come, reluctantly but through necessity, we will have to lose many good policemen until politicians can no longer ignore it, but it will come.

There is hardly a game out there now that you can play if it is not on a Steam,Origin or Uplay platform, as much as we might not like it, if you want to play new games you have to suck it up i'm afraid, the upshot of these platforms is that you don't have 1000's of game boxes and discs strewn all over the house, i don't mind Steam to be honest.

  19. Hi Joe, you're correct, and we all know what is wrong and what needs doing but this is where democracy fails, politicians need votes, a dictator would not have any problem, so nothing ever gets done, even the second world war with all the years of build up, our politicians thought nothing was wrong and they had a 'deal'. We do not even require these immigrants to speak our native tongue or give any form of allegiance, instead we provide (at our cost) translators, social workers etc etc etc, the signs are in 16 different languages in my doctors, in the home of 'English'. Put simply we are barking mad and have let this happen through our own laziness and inattention. Do not worry about your daughter, statistically London is a safe place, it could easily be Dalhousie/Toronto or Alberta, they targeted France, then Belgium, then Germany, then us, they will move on to the next easy country and this will not stop, terrorism is here to stay. I know nothing about politics over there, only what I learn through this forum, but Trump has it spot on where this is concerned, you listen to what he's saying or you will become like us. What I would say to you all thinking of holidays in Europe, is that there is more chance of getting killed by road accident than terrorists, see it in perspective, the USA gun wise is far more dangerous statistically. My son lived in Toronto and it wasn't squeaky clean, but tell her to look at what they target, they hate our freedoms, especially womens, and you will notice it is pop concerts and young peoples haunts they go for, easy targets, so stay away from those and reduce the odds, the superstars may lose money but hey ho!

  20. I agree, maybe not with the SS thing, but it might definitely be time to change the law. I would for example not grant British Citizenship automatically to people born in the UK whose parents come from some specific countries. Im aware this will sould terrible but they should be required to get their parents nationality and be on "probation" for 20-25 years before being recognized as UK Citizens. This will not solve the "problem" by itself but would give the authorities the tools to expel the scum out of Europe and deport them somewhere. I would make the immediate family members and relatives liable for these crimes as well. Im really worried about the whole situation because my 22 year old daugher is going to London to do her masters degree in Economics at the LSE... we made an effort to save up and pay for her education. ..but never imagined terrorism would be an issue. Though and payers go to you my British bros.

  33. I had to bury a friend last week... Ryan was a man's man. He was a decorated Marine Veteran of the Gulf War. He became a United States Capitol Police Officer after getting out of the Marine Corp. He was a K9 Officer, specializing in explosives. In short, Ryan was a stud. But he could not defeat his biggest enemy, depression and PTSD...which took him away from us, oh so young. And he will be sorely missed. Photographing his funeral is one of the hardest things I have done in a long time. I am sitting here editing photos from the ceremony and it's really hard. Thank good ness my 'Idiot' family is always there to make me smile. So thank you. Oh, and remember to always support our men in uniform (i.e. Veterans, police and firefighters)....

  37. We tend to forget as civilized societies, what those many before us fought and died for...The Political Correctness of helping others from foreign lands seems in all nature, to be the right thing to do in an advance of these unique times. Thinking the evolution of man and the bloody wars from past have taught us to all get along. We should ALL be able and willing to help each other in times of need. But, the sad reality is that we are seeing more and more of the Crusades type war coming back. I personally believe that Jihad has been waged and the plan is to infiltrate the infidels (you and I, or any non Muslim believers) and then take over those regions slowly implementing Shariah law into our lands. The use of terrorism is just that, to terrorize the people, to take away basic liberties, such as going to a concert, or the market, or out to dinner. The disruption of democracy period. We have been blinded by our open, good hearts, and now the enemy is gaining the other hand. This is not going to end well and there will be more bloodshed until we end this migration/infiltration. Just my thoughts as I am numb watching the UK be torn apart.

    golf story

A group of guys lived and died for their Saturday morning round of golf.... One got transferred to another city. It wasn't the same without him. A new woman joined their Club. She overheard the guys talking about their golf round.. She said, "You know, I used to play on my golf team in college and I was pretty good. Would you mind if I joined you next week?" The three guys looked at each other. Not one of them wanted to say 'yes',but she had them on the spot. Finally, one man... said it would be okay, but they would be starting early -- at 6:30 a.m. He figured the early tee- time would discourage her. The woman said this may be a problem, and asked if she could be up to 15 minutes late. They rolled their eyes, but said okay. She smiled and said,"Good, I'll be there at 6:30 or 6:45." She showed up at 6:30 sharp, and, playing right-handed, beat all three of them with an eye-opening two-under-par round. She was fun and a pleasant person, and the guys were impressed. Back at the clubhouse, they congratulated her and invited her back the next week. She smiled, and said, "I'll be there at 6:30 or 6:45." The next week she again showed up at 6:30 sharp. Only this time, she played left-handed. The three guys were incredulous as she still beat them with an even par round, despite playing with her off-hand. They were totally amazed. They couldn't figure her out. She was again very pleasant and didn't seem to be purposely showing them up. They invited her back again, but each man harbored a burning desire to beat her. The third week, the guys had their game faces on. But this time, she was 15 minutes late, which made the guys irritable. This week the lady again played right-handed, and narrowly beat all three of them. The men mused that her late arrival was due to petty gamesmanship on her part. However, she was so gracious and so complimentary of their strong play, they couldn't hold a grudge. Back in the clubhouse, all three guys were shaking their heads. This woman was a riddle no one could figure out. They had a couple of beers, and finally, one of the men asked her point blank, "How do you decide if you're going to golf right-handed or left-handed?" The lady blushed, and grinned. "That's easy," she said. "When my Dad taught me to play golf, I learned I was ambidextrous. I like to switch back and forth. When I got married after college, I discovered my husband always sleeps in the nude. From then on, I developed a silly habit. Right before I left in the morning for golf practice, I would pull the covers off him. If his you-know-what was pointing to the right, I golfed right-handed; if it was pointed to the left, I golfed left-handed." The guys thought this was hysterical. Astonished at this bizarre information, one of the guys shot back, "But what if it's pointing straight up?" She said, "Then, I'm fifteen minutes late."

  40. Whoa, whoah, whoah!!! "The fourth incident in Quebec was done by white supremacist. They kill anyone who isn't white so I do not consider that an act of terrorism." Say what? The intent was to kill as many of an identifiable group as possible, and instill terror within that group. Of course that white supremacist was a terrorist! More murders were committed by white supremacists in the USA than jihadists since 9/11. Where's the politicians decrying those acts of terror? Terrorists off all colours and stripes must be dealt with swiftly and in the same fashion. Terrorism is terrorism.

My daughter has been bugging me to take her to the beach for the last few days so today we have beautiful 75 degree weather with no fog at the coast and we drove down to Fort Cronkhite which is just around the corner from the Golden Gate Bridge. I've been going to this beach since I was her age and we spent a couple hours sitting in the sun and rock hounding. The beach is made up of tumbled agate gravel rather than sand, and you can find all different colors. She filled her backpack with about 20 pounds for her aquarium. I forgot to grab my Nikon so these are just a couple cell phone pics. Close-up of the gravel.
