So last year I upgraded the home/work computer with also ordered another pair of tridentz 16Gb ddr4 5dram. So thought I would ask you folks what you think about this video card i am looking at just a thought and yes i know my game skills do not improve with upgrades, jokers.

OMG! My wife is Italian! I just had dinner with her Grandmother who was born in Italy and I sneezed this afternoon. Add to that there is a man in Franklin (12 miles away) that has COVID-19. Of course he is 44 and says he has had worse colds and no one in his family has it but nevertheless I guess I am fucked. ?

Greetings friends, I would like to start this post by stating that my goal is not to instill panic, but to provide an analysis on this situation which I believe I am qualified to do and to perhaps prompt some of you to take this Covid-19 situation more seriously. I have an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, a Doctor of Medicine degree and completed my residency training at the Mayo Clinic. I practiced medicine for 10 years. I have co-authored several scientific papers and know how to interpret scientific data. I have spent dozens of hours over the last 6 weeks combing through the available data surrounding this virus outbreak. This is not “just another flu”. The main reason for serious concern is the fact that our medical system is not prepared or equipped to deal with the surge in demand we are likely to see as this situation unfolds. While our government did eventually cut off travel arrivals from China, it was too little too late. Hundreds of thousands of people from China arrived in America before this ban went into effect, many of them likely infected and asymptomatic. Additionally, our CDC and FDA were asleep at the wheel, and in typical government bureaucratic fashion fucked the management of this up due to their desire to maintain total control of the testing procedure. This is now a situation of containment. It’s a numbers game. Yes, if you are under 65 and healthy you are not likely to become seriously ill if infected with Covid-19. However, do you have family, friends or neighbors that are older, or have pre-existing health problems? Are you willing to be so cavalier about this outbreak and be the reason one of these people ends up hospitalized? We do not have the capacity here in America to deal with tens of thousands of people that need an ICU bed. We have about 100k ICU beds here in the USA. At this very moment, approximately 75-80k of those beds are occupied with people sick from all sorts of regular ailments (yes, including some with “regular flu”) Below are some recently updated numbers from Italy and Korea to hopefully wake you “it’s just the flu” bros the fuck up. Italy -Total cases +25% 3089—->3858 -Death Toll +38% 107—->148 -ICU +19% 295—>351 -Hospitalized +33% 1346—->1790 Horrific data points out of Lombardy, Italy 9-10% cases in ICU 10% of doctors and nurses can’t work because they tested positive South Korea -Total cases 5766—>6284 -Death toll 35—>42 Almost all of the data coming out of China has been complete bullshit. Including all of the latest data showing that they have almost no new cases and most people have recovered. At one point in China, 700 million people were locked down and forced to home quarantine. Do you honestly believe they would do that for “just another flu”? Here in America we have been behind the curve and have not been doing the appropriate amount of testing and social distancing needed to slow the spread enough to prevent eventually overwhelming our healthcare system. South Korea has done a much better job with this, and they still are dealing with a rapid increase in cases. If this doesn’t change soon, we are in big trouble here in America. We cannot build a hospital in 10 days like they did in China. We do not have excess ventilators and nursing staff. If you do not take this situation seriously, you are actually becoming part of the problem. I wish all of you the best. I consider all of you my friends, and I hope that none of you ultimately become sick, or have a family member who becomes sick. I’d recommend obvious common sense stuff such as frequent hand washing and using hand sanitizer, but I’d also suggest avoiding crowded situations if they are not necessary. It’s possible that if enough people change their behavior, and all of the large conferences and gatherings are canceled or postponed we can minimize the impact of this on our society. If not, we are going to have a similar situation to China and Italy very soon. It’s entirely possible it’s too late to stop that from occurring. Be prepared for school closures and travel disruptions. Ideally, be prepared to spend a minimum of two weeks (three-four better) without leaving your home. Have enough food, medicine, (alcohol) etc that you could hunker down and avoid contact with others and public places. Chances of needing to do this are not astronomical, but they are also not zero. Important lesson here. Never store folders on your desktop. Always keep them in a personal folder somewhere and use a shortcut. The desktop folder is a user folder of the OS so any major upgrade of an OS always has some risk. Although an upgrade should not affect them, it's always best to backup all personal files. Hunter, losing desktop files from a windows 10 update was an issue for some but not all. My curiosity got the better of me about the toilet paper so I spent some time studying it this morning, google I'm afraid, after using up what little I had drying my eyes at your rejection of my kebab. Anyway there are lots of theories, but it seems to be due to the herding instinct and a perception to keep clean. Apparently we perceive toilet paper as prevention against disease, a load of shite if you ask me ? This may date back to typhoid in the human psyche, and other transferable diseases through the ages. Using this logic I have invested all my savings in bathroom manufacturers, next will be a run on baths and toilets, you mark my words, I will soon be the richest idiot. I'm also working on an alternative to toilet paper, a couple of idiots have offered to lend a hand, hope they are warm.

On a more serious note it's started here, I get my food delivered and have just done my weekly, normal, order. No toilet paper, no tinned items available nor dried foods such as rice, tell them not to panic and what do they do - panic, so predictable eh? The press are wholly to blame for this, it is the martians invading New York all over again, although wtf they are doing with all the toilet paper makes my imagination run wild. There was an article on the BBC website today typical of the snowflake society we live in, it was called 'Alternatives to toilet paper'. FFS, my grandparents, who had an outside toilet and used newspaper must be rolling around in heaven laughing. Most of the f....g world doesn't use paper, and we need to teach people alternatives ? we are truly sad. Hey if you havent already started you can use a program called copyzilla to transfer one hard drive to another if you are up for that it would only take about a hour or 2 versus stressing over transfering everything manually.

i tried the upgrate way, but wasnt lucky, mainly because i had several drives with a few different win installs. so for my system i forced to do a clean install. Now i did some upgrate from win 7 32 and 64 to win 10 64 with not a signle problem at all, but those system were pretty clean, up to date and all.

I updated to windows 10 64 bit no problem. The only thing that I wish I had done was remove some of my folders from the desktop as they got removed and and still haven't found them.

W10 64bit, I have no problems running any program old or new. There is really no reason to use 32bit anymore, in fact Nvidia does not supply 32bit drivers anymore.

This may be more than what you are asking for but you seem to have some concern and for good reason so I'll long wind this for you to help. From my personal experience, I've been running windows 10 since it first came out and have not had any problems since. There been noted bugs and issues for sure but for me, can't say why but never experienced those issues. Since then, I have successfully moved over from windows 7 to windows 10 on 2 other pcs and a laptop, one not too long ago. In all cases, I "upgraded" meaning it was not a clean install, but windows 10 installed over windows 7 leaving all personal files untouched (recommend backing up anyway but my personal files are on a physical separate drive from the OS) and leaving currently installed programs in working order with the exception of a couple I think like GPUZ sort of stuff. In some cases, you can use the "run in compatibility mode" of the program's executable. I have COD2 - COD5 and these never flinched. If you have concerns about specific software, you can always check their respective websites if they exist for compatibility or upgrades. To answer your specific question, when you use the Microsoft tool to upgrade, it should upgrade whatever version of Windows 7 you are using (ie. home, pro, etc) and architecture. For me, for all my 64bit systems, I've always ran a 64bit OS. You can run 32bit apps on a 64bit system. I ran Windows 7 64-bit and it ran 32-bit apps well. Then installed Windows 10 64-bit and have had no, nadda, zero issues running any app (so far) either 64-bit or 32-bit.

Vitamin C may not stop you getting infected BUT it will make it easier for you body to fight the virus as it boosts your immune system. That frees up hospital beds (of which here in the UK there is already a shortage in a lot of hospitals not due to COVID-19) for those who will really need them, so the elderly and immuno-compromised.

Hey Ron, if you and your wife are in good health you should be fine. I realize your living in a hot spot, my wife’s family are reasonably close as well. I do feel for you buddy. There is only one confirmed case in my province and I found out that person worked at a bank 100 steps from my medical centre. She worked at the bank for a week prior to being quarantined. Now that wouldn’t seem to bad but I work in healthcare and see numerous patients in that area, plus my wife who has leukemia is incredibly nervous of that situation and my proximity. Best to stay calm and make sure you do what we each can to reduce the spread of this.

I live less than 1 mile from the Life Care Center in Kirkland Wa. aka ground zero for it in the USA and let me tell you it is very real. Stores are out of lots of cleaning items, TP is gone, canned goods like soups and veggies and fruit are sold out and bottled water. Friday 3/6 Seattle and surrounding areas were like a ghost town, I drive and make deliveries for my company so I know what lite traffic is all about. The Hospital that patients are being taken to is the one I went to after my Heart Attack a few years ago. This situation is still in the early stages but already systems are starting to show signs of stress. Over 25 of my cities Fire Fighters have been quarantined because of calls to the Center before anyone communicated there was a outbreak centered there. This problem was made worse by people not believing what they were told in part because for the past few years all we have heard from some was complete bullshit however this could get much worse before it gets better.
