what Covid lock downs have done for me.
TheLastColdBeer and 2 others reacted to BigPapaDean for a topic
My youngest son used to come see me almost everyday. When he had his daughter she would always come with him. My picture on my avatar is her back when se was about 7. We used to be inseparable but now I rarely see any of my family anymore. She was my little partner in crime. I want to explain this picture I am posting today because I hate this look. It makes me look 20 yrs older than I am. I have neurapathy in my hands and can't use any kind of a shaver so hence all my hair just keeps growing. My son used to keep my hair and beard cut for me but what with lock downs he isn't allowed in here. I can talk to them on line but its not easy but so much better than not being able to talk to them at all. You can see from my expression I don't feel very well but thats because I am getting old. My Papa died when he was my age and it appears I am going to beat that. I hope so anyway. I would love to see pix of you all to remember from days of yore!3 points -

Surprising to me considering truckers spend most of their time behind a wheel, seemingly unaffected by the mask requirement...only 1 restaurant has insisted I wear a mask, so I dropped the delivery & don't accept orders from there...so over the mask thing...2 years is long enough, for me.2 points -

It is estimated that $300 billion will be needed to build the minimum of 500.000 charging stations globally by 2030 with $50 billion of that just for the USA...The cost of fuel will need to help offset that expense so keep pumping as the cost rises so we can get there faster... $9 a gallon could be real soon...By the way this is old news because you were already told you just didn't listen1 point

I built that but 10 days ago....filter of this type become more efficient as they accumulate, anyway. I monitor the efficiency by observing the rate of accumulation on a secondary unit. Thx.1 point

Uncle Rob is forced once more into helping one of his old buddy's (oh yes I'll chuck in Timmah too), since I left there appears to be a lot of pain among the idiots? Let Uncle Rob psychoanalyse your obvious plea for help buddy, your cry from the heart. 1/. If you don't tidy up a bit the only pussy you'll see in that house will be the one in the first pic. 2/. Stop taking drugs 3/. Stop taking photographs and staring at mirrors in mens toilets, the ultimate result is a pain in the ass and 2 years detention. 4/. Keep eating all that food and you will become a rotund quadriped very quickly 5/. Love the shots in the car where you look like an out of work hitman, stick to the day job 6/. Wonderful job of 'sucking your gut in' on side photos, girls are jealous 7/. When bananas go black they are right for the bin not consumption Signed Butt Plug (collector of fishing vids)1 point

Doing gig economy 70 hrs./wk...I was over the mandates in my context about 5 months ago...if someone in there buying food for dine-in or carryout, they don't have standing to complain...& the employees mostly were wearing masks because their employers' requirement, management included. If you're in the service industry & it ain't killed you after 18+ months of continuous daily exposure, it's prolly not going to. And if you're a customer patronizing a luxury such as dine-in or carryout...well then, that's tacit acceptance of any risks...1 point

Mandates have been ending or have ended. We can resume a normal life minus any restriction requirements from one nation to the next. Carry on.1 point -
The US truckers began their convoy in support of the Canadian Trucker convoy who were protesting Vax Pass to work mandates and Vax Pass mandates to cross the border ... had nothing to do with masks for most of them. Here in Canada we also had the added threat of potentially requiring Vax Pass to cross Provincial borders which thank goodness did not get enacted by our Supreme Leader.1 point

Heartfelt thoughts for the people of the Ukraine
lazymarcky reacted to Timmah! for a topic
You just posting shit without taking even a cursory 5 minutes to vett it first. Used to have to ride my bike to the library. Look-up in the card catalog what I wanted to research...then walk back to the stacks to find it...then copy &/or write-down the information if it was a reference material...now people can literally Google results in less than 3 minutes....makes one wont to even stop to read a post or assertion if they don't bother to take 3 minutes before posting just anything that catches their fancy...2 or 3 independent sources for confirmation is minimum journalistic standard...here we again have 0 confirmation sources...1 point -
After further investigation, you are correct and sorry for the post. Again, I'm always up for proving me wrong. Everyone wonders why we're all such a shit-show right now. "Use your own discernment", as they say! But Obummer is still a scumbag, sorry! Have a nice day, shithead!1 point

If you're talking USB port: The USB 2.0 Connectors is colored white or black inside, while the USB 3.0 is colored blue inside. So if you want to find out whether the USB port on your computer or USB flash drive is 2.0 or 3.0, you can distinguish them by the USB port color inside1 point

@Timmah ok 'cookie boy' aka 'dumb waiter' just before your next crucial delivery and pizza, before you step up before the UN giving your opinions look at this, many more on Youtube but many many more from more reputable sources (or in your case sauces lol). The current Ukrainian President 'tolerates' this lot, currently between 8-10% of his troops, nice bloke, their only purpose in life is to hate and kill Russians, no other country on earth does that - oh hold on? Yes I'm pissed of not only at the war but what it's costing my country YET AGAIN. We drive on terrible roads, our health service is collapsing the £350 million promised last election never appeared, our basic infrastructure is crumbling. But a war in a foreign country?, hey already £400 million given in armaments, £200 million in cash and £500 million more promised, pissed off you bet I am. We already have 1000 refugees (illegal) flooding in every week, the thought of supporting another million gladdens our hearts. But I love irony and now on TV I watch spineless politicians on TV spouting about Ukraines right to sovereignty and defence of her borders. Exactly the same MP's who never accepted the Brexit vote which was for those very reasons. Stick to your guns @LtLaszlo he might name a pasta after you when this cools down, motherfucker1 point

GASOLINE PRICES in Russia after SANCTIONS 2022!
babyback reacted to PimpedOutPete for a topic
I am not sure where you got your degree in economics for it’s all about supply and demand. Federal, state or provincial taxes do play their roll but it’s doesn’t stop any one from driving to work every day. If it was all based on regulation and government then please explain why gas, oil prices increase during the summer driving months and typically drop in the winter. Explain why natural gas prices sky rocket during the high demand cold winter months and then drop in the warm summer months. Why during the first few months of the pandemic no one was traveling including air travel and the gas prices dropped to almost 25-30 year low? Of course geopolitics play a large part for it threatens a market that is typically volatile at any time. Hell, if there is some natural disaster prices jump. A war involving Russia of course prices will jump specially since they are a large market in the EU. We haven’t even got into the geographical aspect of oil costs. Canada is a small market, we roughly have the same population as California but are the second largest country in the world. Do you here in Alberta we just warp over fuel to pumps in Manitoba? There are costs to and yes you are correct, Canada has higher than average North American taxes. There are costs to universal healthcare. Try arguing taking that away from the majority of Canadians.1 point -
Never thought I could find common ground with Sammy on anything, but here it is. Analogy: We should put our own oxygen mask on 1st before helping the person sitting next to us.1 point

We don't have a free market in the energy sector. Gov's dabble with regulation, taxes and wars ... causing the market to respond downstream. In the long run people will either have to pay more for their goods and services or do without. The supply vs demand model which is called 'free market' no longer has the biggest influence on prices. Current increases in energy prices are not based on scarcity or abundance, but on regulation, governmental interference (sanctions,) and war.1 point

Yup ... and when the Supreme Leader's Carbon Tax is fully implemented by 2030, it will have raised the price per liter by about 37 cents. This does not include the rise in heating oil, electricity or any of the trickle down effects that occur when production costs of everything rises. However, these taxes will for sure stop global warming. So thank goodness for that.1 point
