Me and my wife went through a period where we had so much death and sickness around us that we had friends that were afraid to be near us thinking they would be next. We all go through hardships - my girlfriend is in a similar spot to you now, we're afraid her grandmother won't make it to christmas and to my girlfriends 21st birthday.
