UltraStats or Current Stats Program

I wanted to get everyones honest opinion.  Do you like the new stats system we have been using or do you like the UltraStats we used in the past?  Below our my observations on both programs (U can click on UltraStats or Current Stats System for examples.  Please Vote Above.

 

UltraStats:

Pros:

1-Stable program

2-Easy to administrate

3-Search Features

Cons:

1-Initial Setup

 

Current Stats System:

1-Good looking layout

2-Simple To Run

Cons:

1-Unstable during end of the month log flushing

2-No Search Features

3-Random Crashes

the old one ..but we need one that will work all month and let  the admins not have to f with it all the time ...the one we have now was nice but it has had nothing but problems ...people like to know how they are doing .i know i do .thanks rick for all your hard work

I think you had a lot more time to play when we ran ultrastats. I'm not a big stats guy, so it doesn't matter too much to me, but I think life was easier on you and other site admins when we ran ultrastats.  I like some of the stuff associated with this new one, but it's just too much of a pain in the ass to administer IMO.

And the search function is nice to have too... so, Ultra.

Far be it from me to be the fly in the ointment, but the FT2 server stats currently show what looks like the ace server stats.  Just letting you know.  As far as my vote, man, you guys have enough on your plate recently.  So pick the one that is easier to take care of.

I really don't care what stats  we use, But if we do have one take the one with the least amount maintenance

I think the Ultra stats layout was nicer to look at. And looking at your pros and cons it looks better from that aspect as well.

I agree with everybody else. Take the one that needs the less maintenance, so as to give you a break from having to fuck with it.

I check it once in awhile, but it never seems to change. I will have the same numbers for 10 days or more. So the current stats seem to cause more headaches for you and aren't very good.

I tried my ass off to get the flamethrower medal, I got it after I got first place on the stats. Now I have been trying to get a rifle grenade medal and I was told the stats don't matter towards getting a medal. (By an admin). I should be close to first place but the stats haven't changed on it for about 10 days. So I don't know where I stand or even if that matters.

Thanks Rick for all of your hard work. You must be busy as shit trying to do a normal job and then having to do all that you do for the clan. I hope you like your hobby. We all appreciate everything that you do.

WELL ONE BIG PRO FOR ULTRASTATS IS IT TRACKS ALL NAMES USED BY AN IP ADDRESS AND PUTS THEM UNDER THE ALIAS TAB WITH THE NAME USED MOST OFTEN I BELIEVE BEING THE ONE IT LISTS UNDER, THIS MEANS EVERY GAME IS COUNTED BUT THE LIST WON'T SHOW EVERY NAME USED IN A GIVEN PERIOD. SO WHEN LOOKING THROUGH A LIST FOR SOMEONE IS A SMALLER LIST BUT THE INFORMATION IS THERE TO FIND. TAKE RANGER FOR EXAMPLE I HAD TO SCOUR LOGS FOR 2 DAYS TO FIND THE 8 NAMES I KNOW WERE HIM BASED ON CHATS LOGS. WITH ULTRA STATS  THEY WOULD HAVE ALL SHOWN WHEN I WENT TO LOOK AT THE SUSPECTED PLAYER. IF I HAD SEEN ALL THOSE NAMES IN 1 MONTH IT WOULD HAVE FIRED OFF HUGE RED FLAGS. I KNOW IT WON'T COUNT UN-FREEZES WHICH HAS BEEN AN ISSUE BUT I DON'T SEE ANYONE SAYING ANYTHING NOW THAT THEY HAD UNSTABLE INFO SOURCE FOR A BIT..

I remember when I ran Ultra Stats, you could have the website autoretrieve the logs from the server if I remember correctly

      UltraStats it is then.  Give me a few days to get this all changed over.  As like I stated the only con I see with ultastats is the initial setup.  Don't worry your stats are still being tracked since the beginning of the month as we speak via log files so nothing is getting lost.  It may take a few days to get her all up and running.

I rarely ever even look at stats let alone know how they work.

 

In my time here I may have looked twice.

 

There are bigger and more important things for admins to administer.

 

But it seems to me the programs run should be an admin decision since they do the work.

If your talking about Gametracker or similar services then they work a little differently, Gametracker uses the player name to identify the player whereas most other stats recorders use the players GUID,

 

Sad really in situations like this where a simple name change will stop the stats from logging on the old name, you'd think a site the size of Gametracker would see this as a problem,

For the time being the stats program is being shut down. This is only temporary. I will let you know when the new Ultra Stats will be back up.

 

This will be down for about 2 weeks. We are in the process of getting a couple other things going and the stats are not #1 priority at this time.
