I dont know if anything can, or should be done about it, but I will leave that to those in charge. I personally just feel that people are taking advantage of the game mechanics. Any other input from what others think about this would be great, and regardless of what does/does not happen, you wont hear any other complaints from me outside of this thread. People would complain that someone is using the scroll wheel to fire the G3. Maybe they have a mouse that can set a button to turbo fire. Like the options on the old http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Advantage controller for the SNES . Would this be considered wrong if they did? Either way I don't believe it is much of an advantage anyway. When I switched to the G3 it made me slow my rate of fire down and made me a more precise shooter. I don't believe anyone will dominate using an some kind of auto G3. It won't help you aim and may make it more difficult. The people who can aim with Accuracy AND Precision will win out. There will always be people trying to take advantage of 'game mechanics'. Similar to the people who turn their graphics down so much they don't see things they should (like bushes). Seen it done quite a bit and while not a hack or a cheat its kinda pointless. Yes the main reason why G3 is more accurate is because you cant go rock and roll with it. Most settings are no different than an M4. G3 has about %20 more view kick (same gun kick), takes almost another second to reload, and has a slightly slower fire rate even with the scroll wheel trick. So if you want full auto you are better off with an M4. The one benefit is that it can function as a fire rate selector of sorts. Press fire for single shot. Do the wheel for full auto. If a Switchable fire mode and bigger spread (cone) for auto was implemented into the G3 it would fix the problem. I remember when the G3 had full auto when the mod was still being tweaked and ballanced and it was a great gun but Way to accurate on full auto.But instead of widening the cone it was set to Semi Auto. The nature of the single shot weapon should remain there. Admins beware...there are many gamers with awesome reflexes that can make the weapon seem automatic. Head admins and Senior admins should seriously consider this. When I get complaints, in-game, it usually means they've been thinking it for a while. Implementation will be about a month long process. A well-cooked nade from nowhere is the best revenge!!! And I will hunt them down over and over again hitting them time and time again with a nade. Someone that scroll locks the fire button to the scroll wheel looses accuracy, not an advantage over someone that can fire rappidly. Index finger does not disrupt the mouse compared to the higher energy/ longer motion of the scroll wheel. The more effective users, like Badger, that use a programmed mouse button, can fire rappidly by performing a single mouse click. Is it fair, maybe not, but it will never bother me. I'm not picking on you Badger. In 2005 I wrote a mouse driver, that allowed you to do the following: It worked with all manufactured mice. Full auto, 2, 3 and 4 round bursts. Vary the delay between firing including the fix burst. It also allowed you randomize the delay between firing. switchable auto compensator for mussle burst. ( A big unfair advantage ) This piece of software was built as a device driver, specifically a filter driver to any already developed mouse driver. Is anyone using it, I bet, only on Windows XP though. Why did I build it? I built it to beat my pro playing son at pistols only. And I kicked his ass! I don't think he got me one time while using it. With this driver, you could autofire the g3 so quickly that the gun would empty in just under a second. Personally, I like my M16! You cannot stop someone from rappidly firing a single shot weapon. There are mice that you can buy that have this feature completely hardwired into the mouse itself. No software at all, nothing to detect. Then you have users that can fire incredibly fast, what about them, going to band them. The person that scroll locks the fire button isn't a meaningful threat. The people that are kicking our asses with auto clicking, do it with a mouse to keyboard macro of use a mouse driver/ hardware enbled mouse. If you're going to address such an issue, lets make sure we are really making policy that can be overseen in a fair manner and is managable by the admins. I have an idea, lets get into a game with Badger, have him play with g3 normally, then have him scroll lock and then another game with him playing the way he normally does. I bet the results will be as follows, his way on top, then standard method and then scroll wheel method. You up for it Badger! Scripts are often banned in most of the games, macros are basically too since it's similar to a script. But PB and other anti-cheats cannot pick this up due to macros being client-sided, leaving the servers console etc untouched. Scripts how-ever have to run through the game itself which makes it leaving commands that PB can pickup etc. There are usually Anti-cheats or mods that pickup scripts and auto-kicks the player or disables the script. Anyway, the G3 is epic. I myself auto-Single fire with the help of a bind. I kinda came across of this bind that lets you shoot 2 bullets instead of one (back in the days when cod4 launched). However If you use this bind and spam it.. it lets you shoot 4 bullets on 2 clicks. Basically spamming this button will make u auto-fire. Unbannable, Undetected and not a script. Simply a legit bind that was invented in the game engine. (this bind also lets you detonate your C4 insanely fast:D) Works on Cod4 (and older games). I can share the bind if anyone is interested.
