24 MAN TRUE HARCORE SERVER

We are considering removing the 24 man true hardcore server. 

This server is having a detrimental effect on our other two servers.

 

we have found players we have recruited from the eu custom and us softcore servers are playing on the hardcore server but this severely  affects the other 2 servers.

player numbers are ok eu time. but as soon as the XI and FOXI members leave (Breakfast Club) the server empties and no recruiting. the population usa time is not very good .it only runs a few times a week and again there is no recruiting.

 

 

 At the moment we are looking at reducing the us softcore server player count to 48 . which we don't want to do but with the server population as it is we might have to.

we are also going to try and change the EU by removing the minimap.

 

Basically We need your support two keep our two primary servers running and populated.

This is where we do all our recruiting from .

You have only played 5.3 hours on the us hardcore server .maybe if you actually played any real time on it !!! You might find it mostly populated by the EU guys .

I've played 41.88 hours on it.  but yea i do find it populated by the EU guys. I just enjoy the low ping, and true hardcore no minimap. The only thing I don't like about hardcore actually is snipers. I like the no regenerative health or armor. actually makes being a medic and repairman way more useful... I am iffy about the damage model though. 

 

I think true hardcore is going to change soon. I rely on enemy callouts like "medic" or "ammo here" to locate enemies on true hardcore. I heard soon they are going to make it where you cant hear enemy callouts. only friendlies. i think that kinda sucks and is going to take a bit of the immersion and realism out of the game.

From what I see what happens now is the folks that used to only get on and populate the US Softcore servers started playing on the US hardcore server, but the difference is once they leave for the day that server fails to stay populated.So now you have two empty servers and the EU players are sleeping. if we get a few guys / admins every day on the US Softcore server I know we will have no issue getting it populated. I used to always help by logging on the US Softcore server before I left for work, it would not kick for idle until we had over a certain number. I would be more than willing to do this again if it meant that the US Softcore server could stick to 64 players and help out the community. 

 

What might be a good compromise for shutting down the US Hardcore server is take some of the features / rules that folks like from the US Hardcore server and implement them on the EU Hardcore server. Just a thought.

BULLSHIT the True Hardcore server is doing ok, if  the other servers are failing don't blame this server, you told me long ago Edd that the US  64 man server was getting less traffic BEFORE  the Hardcore server came into existance and it was you who asked me and Johnnydos to post and ask for more slots in this server only a few weeks ago, what's changed since, we have got a good regular group of players in here and now you want to close us down because of the failings of other servers, you have Admins sitting in the Euro server two hours yesterday to try and get it populated it just looked very sad, i say again it's BULLSHIT.

What might be a good compromise for shutting down the US Hardcore server is take some of the features / rules that folks like from the US Hardcore server and implement them on the EU Hardcore server. Just a thought.

Thats pretty much what has been done with the removal of the minimap, think that was the only difference except hit markers which is currently still on in the EU server.... when they work (Welcome to battlefield....)

 

I know there will be a few complaints about the minimap going, but from the games I played, a lot of people didn't even notice it was gone until someone got the cheese and WHINE out :-)

 

On a side note losiong the smaller proper HC server and having a larger 48/50 proper HC server (with spectator slots for my perving... I mean hack watching needs) in my mind is better, hell maybe we can increase the slots if it all works out.

Well part of the reason we wanted the Us hardcore server is the 64 server admins refuse to kick players who are cheaters, time and time again year after year people who have 20 30 more kills every round, better than the best XI players are allowed to stay around for the benefit of the doubt, and these players are killing our traffic. I would like to have XI members stacked up on servers, and getting rid of a server makes sense. Why can't we all get along and fix this, most of us are pretty fun to hang out online with, untill this subject is brought up.

Well, you seem to know so much about my past posts...  Shouldnt that mean you know I have never supported the USHC?  Its not a big secret.

 

FYI, the US server population doesn't have issues.  Has there been a week or two here and there where population is low?  Of course.  Summer just got over.  

But we are doing just fine.  Your admins wont stand for fine, they strive for the best.  Do you?

 

Ed gave you the explanation, Im not sure what you dont understand?  USHC took from those that populate our two servers that have been the bread and butter of our BF community over the last 3 years.  

No one said it was impossible to populate or that its completely dead.  I feel like that is what you are thinking.  

 

The point you are missing is the concept of respecting your fellow clan members.  Instead of first bitching, like you always do, and then asking, how about listening first and then discussing it like a man, not complaining like a child tosser.
