Hello everyone, most of you know me by now, my in game name is Realestufa and I've been playing primarily on your Custom Map Server. Beers and Blackcat mentioned I should make a forum post saying hi, ironically, I was instantly kicked and banned this morning while trying to log on. As I wait for an appeal to get this resolved I think it's a good time to get to know everyone here. Love MOST of the community and figured I'd begin the process of being an active member on the forums as well as in game. I say 'most' because, as many of you who play with me know, there has been much debate on my gaming ability due to how well I perform. I have always invited anyone who has suspicions to spectate me to relieve any doubts.

That being said, a little info about me:

Age: 26

Background:
Born and raised in the mountains of
Northern California near the small town of Guerneville. Currently back from traveling and saving money while working at our family restaurant before my next trip.

Gaming experience
Many first person shooters and competitive play in COD 1 and counter strike. Won my first CAD north tourney in cod 1 at the age of 16. Played on sub teams and professional scrim teams in COD 1, 4, Black ops, Counter Strike, and BF 2&4. I also have experience in RTS games, MMO's, and MOBA such as League of legends.

Why XtremeIdiots:
I have hopes of joining your clan sometime in the future! I know the rule of being invited by an admin and BlackCat has made it clear that to even be considered, one must play on the servers for a substantial amount of time. I enjoy the community, though I know I am a "youngin", I think I would be a solid addition and great representative of player skill for the server.

Current Appeal:
All I ask for, is a fair "trail" as I am not, and never will be (nor have I ever needed to be) a hacker of any kind. This server actually means a great deal to me as I have become familiar with the regulars and enjoy my time spent here. I implore the powers that be for a chance to prove my innocence by allowing the admins to spectate me as I play a few rounds. I will prove my innocence by producing the same high level of consistency that has  aroused suspicion in the first place. I thank you all for your time reading my post.

Sincerly, RealEstufa

Thanks guys! I hope to see you in game too, unfortunately I've been banned and I am waiting for an appeal. I gotta say it feels pretty awful being banned for something I'm not guilty of. I can, and will gladly demonstrate, if given the chance, to prove that I'm innocent. This can easily be cleared up (once and FOR ALL!) by filming myself play on my end while being spectated.

Welcome to the forums Real! Hopefully the ban gets worked out. As annoyingly difficult as it is to kill you, we don't typically ban due to ability, unless it is accompanied by also being an ass. You 've been pleasant and part of the suspicions might lax given your gaming experience (and likely a good PC and connection!). There are a few people in the dm server that seem invisible (like Monsterkill), so these suspicions, which I said included myself will always happen. Hang un there and see what is decided.

Bans are cached in certain places, what servers are you still banned from? (check before posting).

So what were those packets and fps settings?

I'm not so bad in COD5, but a little boost never hurt.  I only wish I could say the same for BF4 - I suck over there for some unknown reason, and the game isn't cutting me any slack at all!

Also - I thought it was a cool idea to come up with a COD5 Tips and Tweaks Guide.  That might help a lot of folks.

You've mentioned recording yourself playing just to prove to the naysayers that you really are just that good.  Which I believe, btw.  But if you do, I think it's gotta be an over-the-shoulder video, not a screen capture.  Might be fun to see.

Hey DJ, until I get around to my own guide, here is a maxpacket calculator that will give you the optimal packets to set in your config. It requires internet explorer and VBScript (which ie 11 doesn't use). I will post a quick response explaining how to turn VBScript on using comparability mode in explorer!

VBScript -

Only IE 10 and older supports VBScript. However you can easy change compatibility mode on IE 11 to IE 10 and it works perfectly fine. I had same issue - old web site developed in 2004 using ASP and VBScript and it was the solution for me. In order to change compatibility mode in IE 11 1. Press F12 to open developer tools 2. In left toolbar scrool down until you see "Emulation" settings page 3. Change Document Mode from default ("Edge") to 10 4. Enjoy your VBScript

**This must be done while on the page you are trying to convert to IE10

No thanks.  I don't believe in Internet Explorer.  It's only value is in downloading Firefox.  Beyond that, I don't touch it, much less try to make scripting languages work in compatibility mode on it. *yikes*

250 FPS has 84, and 125 has 63, 333 raises ur jump height and gives you a few other advantages so we banned it in COD4. I am wondering if WAW is uses the same Quake enginge, probably does.

Yeah mine is set at 250 but on alot of the larger maps my fps drops to around 150-175 so I'm starting to debate switching my max or at least having different keybinds for different maps so I can switch to max 125 on the fly. You ever do anything like that boom?

Well, as I recall, it's now set to the monitor's refresh rate, so 60. But it might be at 120, so might as well give me both of those. Thx.

My monitor is a 32" 2560x1440p run on a AMD 270x and I get 250 stable on all kinds of maps. Only in the event of extreme smoke and other animation like fire does it flinch and float around 190+. I had to customize the hell out of my config. I have keybinds to change the FPS:

/toggle com_maxfps 125 250

I also disable /toggle r_specular, this is the property that gives objects its shiny-ness. Like reflection on the hood of a car or granular shine on a tree, I only enable it on dark maps. By default its on but it eats away at your GPU power.

FPS and monitor refresh rates are two different things. Your in-game FPS effects how smooth your game runs, to sum it all up. Your screen refresh rate speaks to the number of times the crystals/LEDs update the image provided by your GFX card over the digital interface.

If only  computer monitors could work the way our eyes do, everything is a stream of live data, completely analogous.
