If you've rebooted, try swapping out the ethernet cables (if you're wired).  If wireless, try going wired and test.

You can open a cmd prompt also and ping to a dns server and see if you're dropping packets.

Ping 8.8.8.8 -t

...and reach out to your isp if so.

Also, shoot the kangaroo gnawing at your house lines...

stop downloading midget porn?

oi @AusiGirl ya you and @MistyShell can move in with me and have a 30 ping lol. You might freeze your damn nuts off though. Fucking cold out and not very warm upstairs. I do have 2 spare bedrooms though lol.

Don't think anything changed with the server but I noticed that it does tend to get a little bit laggy in the winter months. I notice it even with my 30 ping.

Put this in console if you haven't done so. /cl_maxpackets 100  It helps with ping a bit. If you recently played on another server it might have been forced back to Default. ESCs server will force it back to default because they recently went back to the older freezetag mod and they had it set to force Default Configs until a couple days ago.

try a tracert to the server. Sometimes it will point out a bad hop to the server. If it is in your control router etc you can do something or it can also point out if there is a bad card etc on your ISP equipment.

This is a tracert from the Vietnam server. On my end it looks perfect.

I CAN NOT GET A GOOD tracert from the COD4 146 server. My tracert keeps timing out. For the last 3 weeks my ping on this server has jumped about 12. I used to have the same ping as MEEK. We live within 5 miles but obviously he has a different routing now.

Here are a few more examples. you can see where I was getting a timed out returned. the last tracert is from the 146 server 10 min ago the tracert wouldn't complete and drove my ping up to the mid 50's

Every IP you see is a different piece of equipment. If you see a particular IP with a spike in the ping value it could be caused by equipment issues or traffic on that particular piece of equipment. I'm not a real computer guy so I hope others would critique my explanation as I may be full of POOP!

I just ran a tracert on 162.248.95.178 which is the server ip. Mine USED to go out to New Jersey then up to New York.

what the fuck is this shit?  I ran it 5 times and I don't recognize alot of these jumps. 2 of them completely pinged out and 1 is just strange.

Untitled.jpg.bda4524421e221bd134cbe449ef7931e.jpg

The jumps are completely different than they were last time I ran tracert which was probibly 2-3 years ago? Why the hell does it go clear down to Virginia and then to some random IP out in Arkansas?

23.30.206.138 ip is in Little Rock Arkansas? https://www.speedguide.net/ip/23.30.206.138

I know Comcast is corrupt as shit and but the Damn government is spying on connections to game servers now?  Wouldn't put anything past those boneheads.
