My wife was in a horrible car wreck in early January. A kid turned in front of her and she hit him doing about 50 mph. Multiple bone fractures including neck, back, ribs, sternum and foot. Today she was able to remove her neck and chest brace for good. Wearing that brace 24/7 for 4 months had to suck. Now 6 weeks of rehab. The good news is that shes well on her way to recovery.5 points

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2018/01/31/coffee-shops-might-display-cancer-warnings-california/1082274001/ The instant you are born, you are handed a death sentence. In between those events, it's up to you. Live, love, experience anything you wish. Life doesn't come with a script or any guarantees. I think I'll have another cup of Joe before heading to work. After all, gotta have something to ward off all that type wash, plate gum, and roller cleaner. Think I'll have a beer with everyone after all the printing is wrapped up.3 points -

I only drink, cook, and brew with RO water. The EPA reports our water as perfect. My testing shows it to be harder than a cinder block w/ph off the scale. I’ll keep drinking my pot of coffee daily, mostly because I enjoy it. I’m of the age I DGAF about studies and reports.3 points -

I talked with a homeless man this morning and asked him how he ended up this way. He said, "Up until last week, I still had it all. I had plenty to eat, my clothes were washed and pressed, I had a roof over my head, I had HDTV and Internet, and I went to the gym, the pool, and the library. "I was working on my MBA on-line. I had no bills and no debt. I even had full medical coverage." I felt sorry for him, so I asked, "What happened? Drugs? Alcohol? Divorce?" "Oh no, nothing like that," he said. "No, no.... I was paroled."3 points -

Well I find most bands live are not worth the price. Aerosmith was so drunk once they had a hard time standing up. Would of loved the eagles but again by the time I had a chance it was 400 a seat thats not going to happen. Then again I watched the Powder Blues Band at the Calgary airport and I was alone in the bar for most of there first set. And it was free so there you go. How can you guess if the band is going to be performing at there best.2 points

Stories like this appear in the media frequently - some saying it is good for you and others saying it is harmful. I pay little attention to them personally (especially if they are published by "news" papers!).2 points

Reading all the peoples comments on gigs they've been to leads me to an awful confession, I never really enjoyed many and the quality of the music in most cases was poor. Now let me explain, music is a very large part of my life, unlike most I kept my lp's (400+), and have about the same number of cd's played through an expensive sound system. Mainly rock, metal and electric blues ( I refuse to use the bloody fashionable word 'eclectic' oh f..k I did ) Some of the bands I have seen live (most before fame) are Jethro Tull (Houston and UK), Deep Purple (Montreal), Groundhogs (UK), Led Zeppelin, Free, Fleetwood Mac ( both versions), Saxon ( In a working mens club), and lots more including Ravi Shankar in Boston. Two years ago or so I went to see Killswitch Engage at a local university, boy did I get stared at, easily the oldest there. Now I appreciate the occasion etc. but considering the price of the tickets etc it is an expensive business, I always wanted to see Neil Young and had an opportunity recently but they wanted £150 for the privilege, no thanks for that I could buy most of his music. It was a turning point for me, I realised that for me music was a one to one thing, not part of a sweaty steaming mass, so no more gigs, just me and my hi fi. Does anyone else feel like me?, or do you think live bands are better? I went to one festival on the insistence of a friend and was completely unimpressed by the so called supergroups. Conversely I walked into a pub in Aberdeen and left 6 hours later after listening to the best electric blues guitar player I had ever heard, similar stories with folk music in Ireland. I think that paying huge prices to watch a group, probably with binoculars, in a venue with crap acoustics is very overrated and I won't do it anymore, but everyone to their own. Must have pressed this twice???1 point

Agree with Labob if they are drunk or stoned and unable to play you should get a refund, happened twice to me. I would love to have seen Chicago Deerejohn, the group I really regret not seeing live were Rammstein especially as I have no hair to singe lol.1 point

Hey, all! Did you know that you can now add a cover photo to your XI profile? To do so, just click on your name in the upper-right corner, choose "profile" in the drop-down box, and then click on "cover photo" over to the top-right of your page. Upload your pic, re-position it if necessary, and you're done! Have some fun and be creative1 point -
I had the privilege of growing up a few miles from a famous Rock venue in Passaic NJ- The Capital Theater http://www.moyssi.com/capitolshows.htm Also Madison Square Garden, Giants Stadium, The Beacon...tons of great venues but the Capital was walking distance for us 14 - 16 yr olds.. This thread has got me thinking about trying to compile a list.... You saw Led Zepplin...your list is complete!! I was a little young for them. Keep this going and lets try to look back through the fog and list your favorite shows....my first concert ever (14 yrs old) was Giants Stadium... Utopia, Poco, The Outlaws and (why I was there) Boston....the Boston set my son found on YouTube believe it or not.... Yeah, the ticket prices are freaking though the roof these days but here is a tip.... The old guys still rock and play....small venues...I go to Casinos and see some really great music these days....in the last year or so I have seen: Peter Frampton, Chicago, Eddie Money, Jefferson Starship, Grand Funk Railroad.....the tickets either all are comp'd or $20.00 Them old guys still rock hard and appreciate us still rockin with em.1 point

I saw something recently that said it also is good for you. Everything these days will kill you, so enjoy or the stress of worrying gets you a heart attack, so......live it up (within reason). I believe moderation is the key!1 point
