A couple of years ago I obtained a Beretta 96D from an agency that I used to work for, however I wanted to tone it down a bit from the hot 40 S&W caliber. I found some new-old stock USGI Beretta M9 parts and turned it into an "M9". I later added an OEM G de-cocker kit (which was a pain in the ass). I so enjoy the time hen I am here. It’s an important, though brief, way I spend my time. I’ve met some real characters. I given crap and got it right back. If life moves you away, come back sometime. A friend of mine recently acquired a family-owned WWII GI bring-back P38. He took it to the range and it went full auto on him. Needless to say, it has issues. He turned to me for advice and handed me the pistol. I did LOTS of research. I determined that it's a July 1944 Spreewerk (aka Sprewerke) late-war production with matching serial numbers and German proof marks (CYQ and eagle/88). After disassembly, I found the following issues: Bent/deformed slide stop return spring, broken (sheared) safety catch/lever, and broken firing pin spring. The hardest replacement part to find was a WWII-era firing pin spring, but I found one in Russia. Waiting for it to arrive in a couple of weeks. All other parts I found on Numerich (gunpartscorp.com). According to Atarian’s Wartime and Post‐war Slide Part Compatibility Study, the post-war firing pin spring is compatible with this model, but I wanted to stay as close to original as possible. Pretty sure the grips are not original as I believe they should be brown in color for the manufacture timeframe. Anyway, here's a few photos and hope this info helps anyone having a similar issue with a P38.

Same issue here, State police are in charge of the "FOID" cards. Firearm Owners Identification Card. You have to pay a fee to exercise your rights. They're backlogged 6 months or so, but they assure your out of date card is still valid....yeah, ok.

Well after tonight I will not be playing cod4 for awhile it is impossible to enjoy the game when you die within 30 seconds of spawning. So I might re load cod 5 or just go back to SWTOR just to recharge and relax. I do not game to get angry. I want to only have a laugh but when that stops time to step back for awhile. I’ve written about this several time! Being an Admin can really be a THANKLESS job and yet our Admins soldier on. Just imagine trying to enjoy a few moments in the servers to unwind! Yes we all know at times questionable players do what questionable player do. I was an Admin many years ago in another clan, taking on those responsibilities really distracted from an enjoyable game play. The constant accusations, investigations, specking suspects really takes from one’s enjoyment. I also was a Supervisor in my real life working at an oil refinery. Not unlike an Admin a Supervisor has to wear many hats. People expect you to be a Parent, a clergyman a councillor a teacher a sympathetic ear, people expect you to be the answer guy/girl. People expect you to have all the answers, Lord knows the answers will never satisfy everyone but when one has taken on the responsibility of Admin or Supervisor you better have thick skin. Nothing in life or gaming is simple. There is always 3 sides to every conflict! It’s like a divorce, there’s her side, his side and the truth lies in the middle somewhere. Both parties will always think they were cheated, that’s why lawyers make so much money lol. Again I’d like to go on record saying our Admin’s have a very hard and sometimes thankless job but for the most part they get it done. I thank you all for the many hours you put into our clan. Im a mediocre player at best, I’m 64 and I really love Freeze Tag over all other gaming mods. WHAT I KNOW TO BE TRUE, THERE WILL ALWAYS BE PLAYERS WHO ARE YOUNGER FASTER AND JUST PLAIN BETTER THAN ME. Just because they are better doesn’t mean they are cheaters. Yeah I'm feeling it too, nothing against other players I just felt bored of the game sometimes. Grabbed some buddies and played Killing Floor 2 last night, playing Borderlands today. Both co-op games. Senseless violence without other people shooting you, much more relaxing imo

Part of why I stopped playing is that server had become why to abusive and most of it comes from non xi but yes we have some guys who will cuss me out and call me every name in the book all because I killed them. I'm a beech so I get a ton of shit for it but I also dont back down from a fight.

Lol!. It's pretty obvious when someone is being an asshole and serious vs just a bit of in game fun or heat of the moment. The patterns are completely different. It's funny people like me are supposed to just take endless abuse for years and if we speak up about it or try and get anything done, they will try and label you a cry baby, meanwhile they sit and record hours worth of footage and send it to the admins. It is something I doubt admins personally think about too much - players are less likely to abuse an admin directly for fear of reprisal, and if they do abuse them, it won't last long. Members calling other members hackers constantly is a bad look and it's frankly bizarre that this is accepted. These people should be dealt with, warning/warning/kick/1 day ban/7 day ban/remove (cumulative) or something along those lines. Usually it's just endless abuse > eventually defend yourself > both get told to knock it off. Rinse repeat.

Like you Rob I always stand on principle. Back in the day when I was a senior admin I left that position because of it and that's OK. The toughest thing about being an admin is sucking it up when you disagree but you know, we're all human and they're going to get it wrong sometimes. But most of the time they get it right and over the long term, it all works out. It always has. Your complaint has been well heard and thanks for doing that. I don't have the slightest idea who this character is and don't care but if he's a cheat I have no doubt that at some point, he'll be gone. Meantime, suck it up. Like me, you're a good clan member and a nice guy and there's not a lot of us left among these Idiots.

Thanks again for your opinion on things Rob, we do they best we can for the clan every day, but we never hear anything good when we do good things, but just like the media, when something goes bad boy it makes headlines and everyone tried to get everyone going about it. If people actually made headlines about the good things we do here then maybe there would be a better mood about the clan. If people keep dragging down the clan every chance they get well who would wanna play here, and people who keep bringing stuff up for years ago, let's try to move on and get in game and see how things are now instead of living in the past. Bring some joy to the servers and not drama Admins are doing our best to make this place a great place for our members.

In my state, it is considered a restricted firearm as well. It is a long process to purchase a handgun in Maryland. Once you have the mandated training certification, the MINIMUM is 7 days from date of purchase to bring it home, but it usually takes about two weeks. The state police handle it all. It's ridiculous.
