Beautiful day for a drive yesterday. Stopped in Elgin to pick up this gem, and swung down to Oswego to pick up the Regulator reflected in the glass. Leveled the Waltham, and let it run all night. Played with the crutch, & shortened the pendulum. It's about a minute slow, but it's calming down. Love the metronome sound, and the chimes are soothing. This is what I meant when I suggested to Big Pappa Dean to find something worthwhile everyday to enjoy living.

Howdy folks, Got my first personal Apple Silicon 'computer' recently and have been happy with the results. Most pleasantly surprising was the performance of Windows 11 in VM under Parallels. Both Microsoft and Apple have emulation to run Intel software in their ARM environments. Unfortunately the macOS won't support 32-bit apps since about 4 versions back, so COD4 native for Mac hasn't been an option for me in years on any new hardware. Pleasantly surprised the Steam Windows (Intel) COD4 installed just fine and works very well with some tweaks. Runs at a decent FPS in 5120x2160 res full screen.

Interesting to know @PainKiller. I didn't know the specs played into auto balance. It seems like that would be an easy coding fix from the developers to keep the specs out of the auto balance headcount. Is that mod still being worked on actively at all? I haven't read up on it in ages. It seems like that feature request would have already been made.

I've found over the years changing server settings do not make grumpy whinning players any less grumpy and whiney. I have found that one rule does help. Respect our admins in game. Have a problem take it to our forums. Continued disrespect in game will get you kicked from the game. Servers are a place to have fun. Forums are a free for all. Harder then it sounds to do though

not sure if this was told but trailer weight is one thing but you have to add the weight of all the stuff you had in . propane tanks weight and also if your water tank if actually its filled with water. electric brakes on trailers is mandatory and also make sure you have the trailer package option on your truck.

COD4 crashes on Windows are 90% due to audio input issues. Check your mic input in windows make sure it's functioning.

Good afternoon all! This won't be too long but this has been coming for a little while now. I want to bring attention to an issue that has been getting to me lately on the TDM server. Accusations of team stacking and moving people around. I want to put this out there and tell you that any accusations are false. Why? Auto-assign. That's it. I do not have any control over the teams in game. The server automatically sorts players into teams when they join. They do not get a choice of what team they get to choose. The reason auto-assign was enabled in the first place was to STOP team stacking. We're all guilty of it because we all want to be with our friends on certain maps. I can understand that but on the other side, it made the teams very stacked. We had all the good players on one team, all the crap ones on another, etc. By enabling auto assign, we remove the team stacking. The reason people accuse me of team stacking is purely because of a lack of understanding on their part. When you join the server, you're given a number. For example, player A, B, C, D and E are numbered 0-4 respectively and the server uses these numbers to assign you a team as soon as the map starts. This gets shuffled around every map. The reason it may be 4v1 at the start of a map is because of the way the server has assigned numbers to teams. You just need to get out of spec and you'll be put where the server wants you. If we get three admins on one team, well we do. That's just how the server assigned us. It doesn't care about your name or your status. You're a number to the server. Which leads me on to my next point. Moving players around. I ONLY MOVE THE LAST PLAYER THAT JOINED TO EVEN OUT THE TEAMS If the teams are drastically outbalanced and auto-balance doesn't work then I will step in. Say someone joined the Axis team bringing them to 5 players, and the Allies were at 3. If auto-balance didn't work then I will MOVE that person to the Allied team to make them 4v4. If you were the last person in then I am sorry, that's just bad luck on your part. I find the accusations hurtful and disrespectful and I've had to write this to address those issues. I will not take that disrespect towards me, especially false accusations. I've worked my ass off for years, even before becoming an Admin, to keep this server the best it has been. This server is my baby and quite frankly I'm getting frustrated with all the shit getting flung because something doesn't work right. There are some things on the server that are out of my control and please understand what I am saying from an admins point of view. To keep the servers fair and fun for all players. I don't want to be putting my foot down, but I will if I need to.

This is so true! My COD4 crashes once a month because for some reason, likely an update my system changes my preferred sound settings. I use a Steele series headset & mic with the software . Once a month I have to reset it back.

I gave up on Realtek on board sound when playing COD. I got a ROCCAT Juke - Virtual 7.1 Plus USB and just plug it in when I use my headset. $20 and problems solved.

The first thing we need to know is why doesn't your system meet the Win11 requirements? Is UEFI, Secure Boot capable, the CPU or Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0? I guessing your memory and GPU are ok. If it's TPM that might be fixed if you can just activate it in your bios. Same with Secure Boot, but you need a Gpart formatted boot drive not one that is MBR if I remember right.

If you are using the same mic (3.5 jack) I would say go to device manager then sound and make sure you are running Realtek high definition audio...You can also check events on what ever device you find in there to give you a idea as to when the change was made verses problem...I would say temp disable all drivers but Realtek...Then restart and see...You can always re-enable them later if that don't solve your problem

Pulling and braking with the primary being braking...Look into brake assist for sure as it is one thing to pull it but stopping it coming down a grade could be very bad

One last thing . every truck can haul at his limit of weight even get a bit over . The real safety issue here is BRAKING , always keep in mind that your trailer gonna push your truck like crazy in emergency braking. Keep your distance and always be aware in avance.

I also have weight distribution bars and trailer hitch for them as well to take some of the weight off the truck. The hitch has to be set up for your truck so truck will be level and trailer runs level.

I am sure this can be sorted out It'll upset some people but it is what it is. No, all it does is try to autobalance faster. Yea, specs will always affect autobalance. That's why when the round starts there are the occassions of 3v1 because the other two players of team two are still in spec. It's all ballache

Plus consider what sorts of areas of this great country you plan to visit are and where you are most likely to spend the majority of your traveling time. If you plan to spend most of your time along the Coasts for example that is pretty level traveling but if you want to spend time in the Forests and Mountains of this great land that means more need for pulling power and stopping ability. Unless you are going to do this year round and plan to haul that trailer off road I don't see any need or benefit in 4X4 if you get a truck with some sort of traction control system/locking differential. You don't have to spend top dollar to get what will make your trips epic but don't skimp on the towing power even if you have to by a truck with a slightly bigger engine and different transmission. If your rating is say 12.000 lbs try as best as you can to not haul more than say 10,500 because you have not counted everything no one does and it's better safe than sorry and a big part of that rating is getting it stopped in a straight line. Good luck, my battleax wont do anything but a hotel or maybe a Bus RV she would make me park in some parking lot that calls itself a campground
