JohnnyQuest Posted July 14, 2013 Member ID: 1965 Group: Fallen Members Followers: 0 Topic Count: 43 Topics Per Day: 0.01 Content Count: 1176 Content Per Day: 0.24 Reputation: 1082 Achievement Points: 8599 Solved Content: 0 Days Won: 0 Joined: 11/12/10 Status: Offline Last Seen: June 15, 2016 Birthday: 02/11/1969 Share Posted July 14, 2013 he was rushed to the hospital yesterday Sat. with trouble breathing and a pain in his chest....turns out two of his valves were blocked...he is still in intensive care and had stints put in...so they are monitoring him and maybe end up giving him a bypass....never take anything for granted my good people...God can take it away without warning,,,,i was real worried and still am...he doesn't take well to hospitals either...kind of a crusty old fella at times but he is my Dad and i love him...I only hope i can talk again with him after all this crap...i feel like i haven't learned enough from him yet,,,and want him around for as many years as possible...he's 78 now and a heavy smoker that developed c.o.p.d years ago and wouldn't quit cigs...hence the prompting for me to start vaping....i see my Dad in his condition and want to beat the shit out of all the tobacco companies...but it was his choice and now he's suffering....,,,,as i say i can only hope he gets well enough to get out of the hospital...the last thing the doctor said is...if he is strong enough ....which seemed a little on the best case senario list...so hopefully he will be getting out next week sometime if possible..if not its a bypass..... My late father had an operation to sort out an aneurysm in his aorta - high risk but he broke records by walking out of the hospital ten days later. Thanks for asking Belle....just got back from Kingston..cardiac unit....his hip is bruised to his knees where they put in the stints....across his main artery in his leg.....but he looked really groggy and was in and out of sleep...he hasn't been eating much and not sleeping hardly at all..so hopefully he will start to eat and sleep better .....i don't think he will be coming out of there any time soon by the looks of him today....but it has just been since Sat. ..so maybe if he starts to eat and get up his strength....i feel bad for him in there and he told us don't come see me every day...its too far of a trip...only 1 hour ...i told him never mind ...i'll be there tommorrow too..i take my mother with me as she doesnt' like to drive on the major roads....i spent about an hour with him today and he fell asleep as i was leaving so i timed it perfect....thanks to all for prayers and well wishes ...i hope to see him back at his house soon.... Having received a bypass and several stents myself it takes a while to get back on an even keel. Don't worry about the bruising it will disappear over time. Don't be surprised if he gets a bit cranky from time to time. Its par for the course. Keep up you visiting because even though it can be tiring to him its reassuring to come out of a doze to find someone from your family there.
