Buried my brother-in-law Saturday. Massive funeral, everyone knew Deano, and it was a huge send off. Again, Pat, Lisa, and I held Dean's hands while he passed away. This is getting a bit rough, losing my wife three weeks ago, and her brother just now. I'm back to work, don't know what else to do. Can't sleep, can't eat, and have no idea what direction to take for the rest of my life. There really isn't a manual that tells you how to cope with loss this large.

Sorry to hear about even more tragic news for you LCB, it's hard to know what to say when people are suffering like you obviously are, all the old adages come to mind, "take each day as it comes" "time is a great healer" you just gotta get through it m8 and wait for that little bit of light at the end of the dark tunnel.

This year we have lost too many folks it is so sad ...

 

 

Do what you do my friend keep on keeping on and honor them while doing it...Seems like we have to live there lives

for them along with ours now that they are gone...

Sorry buddy.Going through similar stuff myself.You need to find yourself a buddy to talk to and hang out with.Or a good hobby that will take your mind off of things for a while.I like to work on Small engines and a bit of construction from time to time but I need a buddy to.

 

Jump on TS and BS with people it helps alot.Mr @@AyaqGuyaq and me BS for hours on TS and it really really helps.BTW thank you Guyaq

 

Getting slobbering drunk doesn't help much.Tried that,felt worse And had a hellva hangover for 2 days.

Hey Beer, my condolences to you. I cannot fathom how hard the last few months have been.

 

Like others have said, find a passion. Work will suffice for now, but eventually look for something outside of work, a hobby, a sport, coaching, volunteering. And find a buddy, or a group, where you can talk things out.

@@TheLastColdBeer I am so sorry to hear of your losses but the best advice I can give from someone who has been in your shoes is to take it one day at a time. Anyone who tells you time heals all wounds lies  it just makes it easier to swallow not deal with. My goal has been to always be the best person they would want me to be in there honer. Thanks everyone. I know the cliches about time, keeping busy, and lean on your faith. Ain't no kid, it's just this has been a huge load all at once. Not to mention the paperwork clowns have insisted all my assets be turned into an "estate", with its own tax ID. Excuse me, we had everything in joint tenancy, no need to create an estate, thank you very much.

The sleep thing bothers me most, don't know how long you can function on two hours sleep a night. Feels like I've been awake since February. Someday, there will be a new normal, just don't know where or when.

I lost my wife to divorce, I sleep fine.

 

Lol.  My ex-wife was different; every time there was a strange knock on our door, she asked me to go hide.

 

My neighbor must have thought I was in the Coast Guard, 'cause there were always messages on the answering machine asking if "the coast was clear."

 

My ex-wife came home yelling excitedly, "Pack your bags, I just won the lottery."  I asked, "Where are we going?" 

 

"You're not going anywhere, get out!!!"

You need to see a Dr about depression or some kind of anxiety dysfunction and see if they can help you with the sleep!

Need Dean, really? I was kinda thinking about taking over an old shop teachers' 45' yacht project. Finish fitting her out, mast, rigging, sailplan & taking her down the Mississippi river to Port Arthur, Texas. That appeals a little more to my interest than sitting in a chair with a drool bucket in my lap chewing Zoloft. Damn, I just said things were a little rugged right now, didn't say I was ready to throw in the towel.

Sounds like ya got control of it so for a bit your going to have to suck it up buttercup and remember people are watching what you do to handle all that crap because they have no idea what to do when it happens to them. I guess if it don't kill us it makes us stronger some how. Personally I'd rather never have to deal with it at all not something I'd like to say I got good at but there it is .

My point was LCB and I know you are cognate but lack of sleep is a big sign of some sort of dysfunction and if not treated can become permanent such as what happened to me! I care about you man!
