Glad to see you will be working with a counselor because these are difficult waters to navigate, and ones that really should be guided rather than just plowed through without care and thought given to the course you must follow. In the end, I hope that you will realize that all men are NOT created equal. Some at abject ASSHOLES! Looking beyond that, there are a vast majority of guys who would love you for who you are and want to have a genuine relationship with you, one without a single though given to hurting or taking advantage of you in any way. It may be hard, but coming through this ordeal with an un-jaded attitude toward men would be an optimal outcome. Probably unlikely, but at least you should know that what you have been through is the exception, not the rule. Keeping this extreme event separate from your regular life might give you the objectivity you need to dismiss it, even if you cannot forget it. Take care, be well. You will do much better with counselling specifically with someone who can empathise and see how you feel through your eyes. I am praying you are presented with such a counsellor so you can get on the road to recovery as much as is possible I am sending all the best toward you now. God bless you!
