I work at a juvenile detention center.  Basically a jail for young people (boys and girls) aged 10-18 yrs old.  No one is in their for weed or stealing candy bars.  We mostly have repeated car thieves, residential burglaries, armed robbers, sex offenders, murderers, and the occasional goof that can't follow probation rules repeatedly enough to get locked up  over it.  Some stay for a day or two.  Some for a year or more.  Most are decent sized and some have major attitude problems.  Everyday is different though.  Not too bad.  I've been there for 16 years now and I'm a supervisor.  We just make sure they are ok and take them to the gymnasium and class (stuff like that).

Damn.. now Im depressed. Sad kids young as 10 are locked up. Crazy.

Having a Dad Uncle and grandmother that had dementia and Alzheimer's. I just want to check. Your not one of the patients thinking your a lead CNA/med tech

 

Have to say though the only good I saw in that horrible disease is at least they got to wake up each day and meet new people, even at home when they never go out.

Seriously it's a horrible disease. It's so hard to watch them come in and transform into something entirely different and then just the ending is hard. I hate having to see and watch something you can't cure. But I get to love them and hold their hands and care for them and keep them safe. It's a hard job but I love it. :-D

I worked for short period as a regional engineer for a assisted living company. On a few of the properties we had garden sections as they were called for the Alzhiemer patients. It was alway hard to go to there for inspections and see all of them in different states of the disease.

 

The day my Father passed from it I had stopped by his house for a quick visit. He was asleep so I didn't want to wake him but my mom insisted that I do wake him. So I woke him up and he was very incoherent in his speech. Stayed there for a few minute then said I needed to go. In that instance he had total clarity and thanked me for stopping by and seeing him. He passed 8 hours later. Horrible disease

I am just an old fart that can be very annoying specifically when I write things and stir up lots of trouble. I been on disability for about 4 yrs now and my stress level is almost nonexistant. I was forced to retire from a steel company where I worked on the sales desk for about 20yrs. I was promoted to branch manager twice then I had a nervous breakdawn and can no longer handle stress of any kind! This is where I have too much time on my hands so I became an old annoying IDIOT! I develop software for SNF's (Skilled Nursing Facilities) that does form submission to CMS nationally and Texas locally, analytics, etc. Also get to come up with new ways to help the SNF's when every year the government makes some new requirement or change that makes it even harder to collect the money they are supposed to get paid for taking care of people.

 

I sit in a dark cubbyhole in the office, so I consider myself a cave troll.

I have had many jobs,  I built roads and underground utilities and ran heavy equipment in college days. After meeting GG went into management at a large auto parts chain in Florida, Loving cars and knowing my way around It felt good and was a nice fit, But like life, moved on when I came back  to Kentucky. For the most part I have been in warehousing and logistics for 25 plus years now. for the last 20 i have been at a  family owned business that has about 200000 square feet of space. We warehouse for any type of company, Right now a local dairy is one of our biggest user. they keep all their dry goods and packaging in our building and three times a week we supply their production. Also doing about 30000sgr for a company out of Brampton called Zochem. They are major supplier for zinc oxide in the south and east US. I ship and receive over 2.5 million pounds a month... I like it very much, Never a dull moment, Not stuck in a office all day and still can watch @@PigDog  do his porn when I want to.......
