Call of Duty: WWII Announced

After previous leaks of marketing material, Activision have officially unveiled Call of Duty: WWII. There will be a 'worldwide Reveal' live stream on April 26th to show off what they have planned. The game is rumored to launch on Nov 3rd.

Personally, I'm glad they went back to WWII. There are so many modern shooters out there and all the great WWII FPSs are showing in age. Still great games, but I think with a graphics refresh, it can be even better. It will be interesting to see the various new WWII shooters compete against each other such as Battalion 1944 and now CoD:WWII. Obviously CoD has name recognition, but I think we'll see a great selection of games from this genre this year and probably next.

Give is dedicated servers and the chance to mod and I will be happy. If they allow the use of custom maps, I want to see some of the old CoD maps remade such as Toujane, Rostov, Stalingrad, Carentan etc.

If they claim to be going back to their roots, I want the same fun of the first 2 games; mods, custom maps, dedicated servers and none of the perk bullshit. We use skill, everyone is equal. Not some shitty player using steady aim because they can't shoot properly or juggernaut because they run in the open a lot.

Hell, I'm freaking happy they are going back to their roots but please PLEASE don't fuck up. You have a lot riding on your shoulders. Please. Make us lovers of the older games happy for once. Cater to the needs of the players, not the needs of your wallet.

British, German, American and Russian soldiers will still be running at super speeds and bunny hopping all over Europe just as they did in real life i suppose? and don't hold your breath for dedicated servers or mod tools, it won't happen.

Reddit user braderz_12 posted the attached screenshot which were supposedly on the CoD profiles login page before they were taken down. Appears to be the first screens of the game....can't see much, but it's something.

I doub't we'll end up going back to dedicated servers unfortunately, but we'll have to see if going back to their roots is just at the superficial level of game era instead of overall gameplay.

nahh they not going to step away from IW net matchmaking pay to play new maps lobby servers  and if dedicated probably  the same deal as in  blackops 1   only hosted servers  by one company.

what we want is 32 player suport (bunked up too 64 if  your dedicated box can handle that)  a good working PB +PB Bans  anti cheat   a working rcontool for admins from day 1   full server control for game settings  out of the box more gametypes  not only ff tdm domination ctf.  but those days are gone my friends that died with cod4./5  and  i havent talked about modtools or any  mapmaking tools that will provide the cod comunity with unlimited FREE  maps .

 

going back to their roots  bla bla bla  will see time will tell not preordering anything.  but if all of the above does happen a 64slot  XI  CTF server  at launch  sounds like music in my ears

Another leak regarding a GameSpot exclusive Property Edition version of the game (attached). 

 

Also will feature season pass for DOC as well.

 

In addition for storyline, the game will indeed focus on Normandy invasion to start but will also include locations such as Gibralter's Signal Hill Battery.

I played with Deathwave today on the COD2 server and really really enjoyed it, I'll be back, it's the gameplay not the graphics/gimmicks  that make the game, I'm new to XI and loving it, but some of the guys on the servers are too serious for me, I'm in it for the fun, I played one game today where not a word was muttered except by me, ffs lighten up some of you, luckily your life doesn't depend on it, chat, joke, tease others but not speaking and worse putting other players down - get a life!

Sadly, I don't think it will be dedicated. They are having this massive 'community hub' thing where you can hang out with friends and shit. It's going to be very console catered to expect a shitty PC version.

Alright after watching this trailer   it  looks  nice  maybe i concider buying it this time. will have to wait after E3 12/13 june 

i hear about a game mode called WAR  but after they explaned what it is.  it sounds a awfull lot like OPERATIONS /QONQUEST  in the battlefield series. this can be a good thing maybe this will mean  bigger player suport then what we had before 6v6 9v9.

classes  they talk about health and ammo that u rely on your team mates classes to heal you provide u from ammo  i know  thats like the engineer in BF1 .

 

After world at war  i had a  good time with MW2  BO1 and MW3  really fun too play so mutch potentional those 3 games had on PC if only  they had given us the same tools  we had for cod1/2/uo/4/5 

 The downpart of those games  was that they only  have a lifespan of a year  and all to COD WW2  is comming nov 3 2017 but  there will be another game in 2018. and  being this  a steam colide game  i relies on  the VAC system that does not work for  non steam games after a year  the lobby,s where full of hackers/aimbotters .

The first minute i started this trailer i believed i was looking to a modern version of medal of honor, has anyone seen this also that the start of the game looks like a 1on1 copy with allied assaulth? 

MOHAA has been a very populair game for years and years, even cod players know them maps like southern france, the brigde, hunt and v2 rocket. 

If the new cod is going to be a sort of the same kinda game like that, i think we will get a beautifull new cod game. but i am still affraid about the servers, i realy hope they listen to the people this time and give us some more rights on what ever it is. 

I will not pre-order or buy anything from cod / battlefield untill i am 100% sure about all of that, the new bf1 is a nice game, but they totaly fucked it up with the server settings for clans etc. I think if they do this also with cod the game will be dead also in less then a month. 

 

Anyhow, lets hope for the best.
