An Irish priest was transferred to Texas . Father O'Malley rose from his bed one morning. It was a fine spring day in his new west Texas mission parish. He walked to the window of his bedroom to get a deep breath of the beautiful day outside. He then noticed there was a jackass lying dead in the middle of his front lawn. He promptly called the local police station. The conversation went like this: "Good morning. This is Sergeant Jones. How might I help you?" "And the best of the day te yerself. This is Father O'Malley at St. Ann's Catholic Church. There's a jackass lying dead in me front lawn and would ye be so kind as to send a couple o'yer lads to take care of the matter?" Sergeant Jones, considering himself to be quite a wit and recognizing the foreign accent, thought he would have a little fun with the good father, replied, "Well now Father, it was always my impression that you people took care of the last rites!" There was dead silence on the line for a long moment....... Father O'Malley then replied: "Aye, 'tis certainly true; but we are also obliged to notify the next of kin first, which is the reason for me call."7 points

I go to a SHIT LOAD of live gigs. 20 + a year normally. I love live music but I am very selective in what I like and where I see them. I like small venue shows, so I like little known bands, up and coming bands, I refuse to pay large money to see these big name bands (Only time I see them is when I win tickets on the radio, which is about 5-8 big shows a year) I love Canadian rock, there are a ton of amazing Canadian bands that cost average of $25 to see. And even less in some cases. The younger up and coming bands try harder, put on better live shows, and dammit, I love the new music! Take for instance this killer up and coming band from Australia.... The Lazys, heavy ACDC sound to them, very guitar riff oriented songs, AMAZING live show. I will be seeing them in Toronto in a few weeks... $16... then in Waterloo a few weeks after that I will see them again, $15. Just bought tickets for my favorite band Monster Truck in May.... $35 The Glorious Sons in May, $28 I go to high energy band shows live Keep it under 2000 people and I love it! And they still put out kick ass rock videos lol!! Lots of amazing live rock out there, screw the oldies, they done it, its nice to see as a nostalgic thing, but the price aint worth it with others putting out amazing shows at a fraction of the cost@3 points

Best shows I have seen were and are always in the 1500 or less capacity crowd venues ....Now I did get taken to my first concert by my older brother and that was in 77 tour for the Presence Tour of Led Zeppelin which by the way is still my favorite album by them even if Jimmy mainly used a Strat for that album......I2 points -

Thoughts On New PC/Gaming Rig Build?

In the same boat. Im running an AMD-8350 now, so its getting old. Going to build a rig in late April. I have always used AMD except on my last build (for my wife) which was an i7 2600k (few years back). Ive been comparing Ryzen and Intel offerings, especially these two. http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-8700K-vs-AMD-Ryzen-7-1800X/3937vs3916 The link is a great site for comparing different cpu's. Well comparing everything. Im leaning towards the Intel chip. As far as GPU, Im leaning towards the Nvidia 1070. I always use Gigabyte boards. I've built probably 50 pc's and through trial and error settled on Gigabyte as my only choice. Well, DFI was my main source in the day, but they abandoned the "consumer" market and make only commercial specific motherboards. DFI was the LanParty company, which some may know. Miss those boards !! Anyway, I definitely will go solid state for the OS (Windows 7), and I always use a separate sound card (Sound Blaster of course).1 point

Yeah Rob, Megadeth was excellent ! in the first of two shows at Bogarts for So far...So what... the sound went completely out during" The Conjuring " and Dave was looking at everyone in the band and they kept playing and him singing too ....seems like a minute and a half went by and the sound came back on and they didn't miss a beat....!! and I also saw Disturbed there for their first album....another great show !!1 point -
New Knife
WeednFeed reacted to TheLastColdBeer for a topic
Purchased this Case slimline trapper @ our local hardware store. Delrin handles (scales) and stainless blade. This sweetie is perfect for daily use, and I swap it back & forth with my bone handle toothpick. I'm going to order a bone handle Case w/nickel bolsters as a swap out for my red handle Bear. I really like this knife, and it's a pleasure to work with.1 point -

Attorneys should be registered and labeled as hazardous material. Extremely destructive to daily life, productive behavior, and a cancerous drain on existence. They also should be forced to carry paper copies of every law enacted, and msds sheets for every product ever produced. Oh, a ring a brass bell and shout "UNCLEAN!" as they pull their burden by.1 point -

I think you summed it up perfectly. As all these so-called "ill effects" happen over time, one gets to an age when it is futile to change ones ways as any "damage" has already been done! I'm not giving up my strong Americano!1 point -

WTF !! Not !! the shirts now are probably $50 If they fucking scaled back on the pyrotechnics and elaborate stage set ups and in so decreasing the crew maybe to bring the prices down, then maybe........I mean ,really what Normal Metallica fan ranging from 15 to 23 can afford those prices....1 point -

What side of the fence are you on?
Sammy reacted to Astronomer for a topic
Wait! There's always another perspective. You Might Be A Conservative... You might be a conservative if... You think "proletariat" is a type of cheese. You've named your kids "Deduction one" and "Deduction two." You've tried to argue that poverty could be abolished if people were just allowed to keep more of their minimum wage. You've ever referred to someone as "my (insert racial or ethnic minority here) friend" You've ever tried to prove Jesus was a capitalist and opposed to welfare. You're a pro-lifer, but support the death penalty. You think Huey Newton is a cookie. The only union you support is the Baseball Players, because heck, they're richer than you. You think you might remember laughing once as a kid. You once broke loose at a party and removed your neck tie. You call mall rent-a-cops "jack-booted thugs." You've ever referred to the moral fiber of something. You've ever uttered the phrase, "Why don't we just bomb the sons of bitches." You've ever said, "I can't wait to get into business school." You've ever called a secretary or waitress "Tootsie." You answer to "The Man." You don't think "The Simpsons" is all that funny, but you watch it because that Flanders fellow makes a lot of sense. You fax the FBI a list of "Commies in my Neighborhood." You don't let your kids watch Sesame Street because you suspect Bert and Ernie of "sexual deviance." You use any of these terms to describe your wife: Old ball and chain, little woman, old lady, tax credit... You scream "Dit-dit-ditto" while making love. You've argued that art has a "moral foundation set in Western values." When people say "Marx," you think "Groucho." You've ever yelled, "Hey hippie, get a haircut." You think Birkenstok was that radical rock concert in 1969. You argue that you need 300 handguns, in case a bear ever attacks your home. Vietnam makes a lot of sense to you. You point to Hootie and the Blowfish as evidence of the end of racism in America. You've ever said "civil liberties, schmivil schmiberties." You've ever said "Clean air? Looks clean to me." You've ever referred to Anita Hill as a "lying bitch" while attending a Bob Packwood fund-raiser. You spent MLK Day reading "The Bell Curve." You've ever called education a luxury. You look down through a glass ceiling and chuckle. You wonder if donations to the Pentagon are tax-deductable. You came of age in the '60s and don't remember Bob Dylan. You own a vehicle with an "Ollie North: American Hero" sticker. You're afraid of the "liberal media." You ever based an argument on the phrase, "Well, tradition dictates...." You've ever called the National Endowment for the Arts a bunch of pornographers. You think all artists are gay. You ever told a child that Oscar the Grouch "lives in a trash can because he is lazy and doesn't want to contribute to society." You've ever urged someone to pull themselves up by their bootstraps, when they don't even have shoes. You confuse Lenin with Lennon.1 point -
