Got my baby back!
Snow White and 3 others reacted to Icequeen for a topic
I wasn't going to talk about this because well I generally only keep things to myself. But due to some unforseen circumstances I was facing living out of my vehicle. So I had to give my 1 year old German Shepherd away. I balled liked a baby of course but the people who took him were amazing. And they said that if I ever get a place again to come get him. So these past couple of weeks have been crazy busy but I have been blessed with a beautiful place to live and my baby back. I was super happy and just wanted to share with my XI family.4 points -
My former beat partner ...
Dirk Diggler and 2 others reacted to EastCoast50 for a topic
I ask the XI community to give their thoughts and prayers to my former beat partner who is fighting for his life at this very moment here in Maryland. He and I have been through hell and back together, and we went home after every shift. Today is different. The outcome looks very bad, but he is still in the fight at the moment. He is one of the biggest, toughest, honest and righteous cops anyone could every know or work with ... especially on the midnight shift when all the goons come out to victimize the innocent. It's been a long month. Thank you all.3 points -

Thanks. I live several stories up; magnetic locks on building doors with cameras all throughout & on the perimeter... even a few police live in the building. Nice area, nice people. Wouldn't live in a crime-ridden area.2 points -

Timmah! reacted to TedsofBeverlyHills for a topic
Good news, glad to hear you don't live in one of those big cities with all the crimes and murders occur day after day or year after year ran by the one party for the last 50 years or so, not all but most.1 point -

People shooting your window people in cherry pickers looking in your window. Hmm I think this is how storys start.1 point -
The back end of the bullet that the building manager showed me seems to be from a hunting rifle caliber round. I'm thinking someone in the woods a mile or so away was being very stupid. You can actually see the hole it left in the screen, along with a smudge on the 2nd pane. People doing repair & maintenance work from a cherry picker actually noticed it.1 point

Think I caught COVID... again. Yay.
Hunter1948 reacted to Timmah! for a topic
When I caught it in Feb. of 2020, I went to bed with that prodrome feeling, knowing you're getting sick & tomorrow for the next week or two won't be fun. Fell asleep with a low-grade fever & woke up with muscle aches all over, chest feeling thick & wheezy. Shit fucked me up worse than any flu I've had as far as the double pneumonia that took 3 weeks of coughing to clear with another 4 or 5 weeks to convalesce & feel somewhat normal again. Shit's no joke & got the vaccine as soon as it was available. From 1st-hand experience, I'd rather take the chance on the vaccine than catch that shit again. I can see older & out of shape people dying from this; it hits hard, fast & deep.. & if you don't have the reserves, it's curtains. With over 6 BILLION doses given, it's a much safer bet than that Rona.1 point -

$450 for a fukkin' alternator is what floored me; just glad I'm not paying for it. The Wal Mart insurance adjuster contacted me within 2 or 3 days, informing me she was cutting a check & apologized for the mishap.1 point -

My $1,500 Wal Mart Oil Change
TedsofBeverlyHills reacted to lTplkey336 for a topic
Hmmm, the walmart tech must have a cousin working at delta sonic car wash in NY. My kid went for the oil change and customary check of all fluids. Left radiator overflow bottle cap loose and the car overheated so I had to service and bleed out all the air in system. Some times its just better to do it yourself so you know its done right I guess.1 point -

And then the Forrest critters who eat fish !!! Then possibly other humans !!! Your fishing could wipe out the entire eco-system in your area !!! Also your a RACIST !!! Why ? I dont know !!! But you are" !!! Was that a good impression or what !!!!1 point -

My department developed the layouts for the Fiberglass compsite, the rivet programs and the mill-cutting and drilling programs of the parts. Mostly we used Catia V4 and V5. By programing interfaces, we could load all models ()developed in France and the Netherlands) and set our points. Then, after finishing in Catia, we had a Mainframe in Bremen/Germany, which we used by remote, we compiled the output of Catia into maschine programs. From that mainframe, we were able to load those programs directly to different maschines in Hamburg / Germany, Nordenham / Germany, Toulouse / France or even to Eurocopter Donauwörth / Germany.1 point
