The view new content button defaults to selecting new content of whatever you are viewing.. so as the home page is NOT part of the forums it will show you new page content rather than forum content. If you want a quick way of seeing the new forum content create a bookmark to something like: http://www.xtremeidiots.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=viewNewContent&search_app=forums .
