I sure would prefer my parents to out live me as I think a part of me will die. But will have to experience someday i guess to know and understand and hope to move on. My biggest fear of them all is my parents. Not even my daughter is as my parents were first and my daughter is going to outlive me. Or she better........ Hope you can find some peace with this.. seems a few are experiencing some serious life kind pain. Sounds so simple when said like that till it happens to you. She was 89 and had dementia ,so near the end she didn't talk or recognize anyone. It was really hard seeing her like this because she was always a fun person to be around . Dementia is so common these days and it robs families of the quality time they deserve with their loved ones in their final days. The same happened to my mom, so I understand your sadness on at least that level. Please take care of yourself in this time of grief. I know that's not easy, but you did all that could have been humanly asked of you. No shame in indulging yourself, even in the smallest of ways. Sorry for your loss.
