Website spamming users

Like many others, on collecting my morning emails, I found a load of notifications about images that @dadda2 had posted (of the UK XI meet).

Is it possible to set the default to OFF so people can opt in if they want to?  I can't find a setting on my profile that I can change.

i dont know but maybe it happens if you follow them perhaps.pls correct me if im wrong

or maybe its in where you manage your followed content-how your notified -*check that

I am neither following any user/member nor any forum.  Likewise the setting for images is empty and unused.

I think something needs tweaking on the server side?

Scroll down some more to find other options,you get here by clicking the cog wheel when you click on the notification Icon on the top left.Yesterday I clicked on those other boxes and so far only received my PM's this morning,I won't know about notifications until I get one.

I follow nobody, nor do i have anything checked to receive such E-mails yet as of about 5 days ago i am getting E-mails everytime someone posts images to the flipping Gallery.

I got 20 emails the other day (all the same message) and today there were 40 (all about a minute apart) telling me that Wild posted some images.    I changed my settings for no notifications until it's fixed.    Thanks

I tried to turn off the email notification and it ignored me. Now I have an email account filled with XI emails.

There is an issue with the gallery posting, for some reason its sending out an email every time someone uploads a pic @Sitting-Duc is gonna look into this and fix it

Can you ask  to remove the email address in my profile so I dont get a 100 emails  a day?  I kind of need my email account back. [email protected]

Mine is all good,only the PMs' show up in my e-mails and NO pics or notifications.That is since  Saturday,this is how I checked my option boxes:

It's happening again.  Once again, I am getting emails saying someone has posted a message in the Other Games Ban Appeals section that requires approval.

My notifications are off.

That's a different thing @DEEJAYKEG - you are getting that because you are an admin and therefore are a moderator of the COD5 and OTHER GAMES appeal sections.

I understand the connection to any messages about COD5 but not why I receive notification about Insurgency and Minecraft, neither of which I even play...

Looks like I need to write a mail rule at my end.

Well you didn't say that @DEEJAYKEG or perhaps I missed it? so you're telling me you are receiving notifications from the Minecraft section as well as the other games section?

Insurgency/ARMA/CW/Rising Storm etc. don't have their own section as they aren't established enough which is why they go into 'other games'... as such there isn't necessarily an admin team for them and usually existing admins can help - hence the notification. 

In that case could you forward me one of the emails you have received for Minecraft to [email protected] and I will see if I can trace where it came from so I can adjust the settings.

No, I am getting emails relating to appeals about Minecraft and Insurgency bans that are posted in the Other Games Bans section.

@DEEJAYKEG I just edited my post before you quoted. I guess if Minecraft appeals are accidentally put in there you will see them. As to your previous query.. it appears to be working as intended..
