My download is decent, upload is basic. 

What are you pushing?!? I hear far too often in CoD4 .. Lagger! Lets see what yours actually is!

** Obviously other countries can effect internet speeds in game. But, speed tests are localized according to your region.

**Personally I think people put too much on ping and speeds. When this game came out 20-50 Mbps was new with fiber optic internet.. 5 Mbps DL and 5 Mbps upload was avg. And computers have came a long way sense then.

I have an average ping of around 110 on our servers, my provider (I just upgraded) now gives 24 mbps and 6 (until Dec last year was 10 & 5), I have a ball mouse, a GTX 660, 8mb ram, keyboard that is 20 years old, processor is quad core AMD running at 3.5 and a 20" monitor, I still sometimes beat you f....rs!

So to all of you with super computers and gear, a ping of 2 seriously ask yourselves why you don't wipe the board with the likes of me everygame lol.

You are absolutely right Rob.  A great machine and and low ping don't do any good if you can't shoot straight eh.

Sometimes lag isnt always attributed to internet speeds. You may have malware that can cause issues, i use Malwarebytes and Spybot both to keep things clean.  Make sure you dont have wires plugged in to the router that arent plugged into anything. Cable providers not using fiber may be more vulnerable to upstream and downstream noise issues, usually youll see very erratic speed tests when that occurs.

My speeds are usually a bit higher. Last time I checked it was between 350/15  350/18. Might have something to do with the large amount of ice hanging on the lines around here.

@Sikon  Your upload speed ouch!  Are you using WiFi? Decent download speeds and lower than average upload speed usually indicates some sort of jitter or packet loss.

 

Could be someone using your WiFi?   Had that happen a while ago.  I looked in my router for connected devices and seen that 1 of my neighbors had his TV connected to my WiFi. That's what I get for using the default login and password lol. I changed the password and deleted the bastards TV from the connected devices.  Problem solved.

@J3st3r Yes I was on WiFi. No.. No one is stealing wifi.  Some times I use wired, sometimes wifi. Just depends on if I've used the printer that day. Sometimes i forget to switch it back. My printer is wireless and sits on the other side of the room. So I can only print when my computer is on wifi.

But, I do have 3 boys that are consistently using something though. From HULU, youtube, ps4, Nintendo switch.. however they wasnt when I ran this test. But i have a phone app that let's me see all connected devices. And I can disconnect each individual device from my phone. Comes in handy when they dont want to listen. I just pause the devices connection..lol 

Yeah, my upload speeds suck. I've talked to xfinity about it. They said they cannot change it. Only download speeds. It's been like that for years. 

And yes, your computer can make you lag. Rather it be hardware or a software issue.

@RobMc I normally have an in game ping of 100-110 too.. @Timmah! Saying the server is based I NY makes sense of a 100 ping.. being that I'm on the other side of the country. 

I'll run a test speed later to New York and see what it looks like. I'll post it when I'm at my computer.

OK Mine suck ass,,,,,,,, But my service is only 18mb up an down. Oh an that is with 3 kids on phones wife on ipad and phone an one kid on Xbox.

Everyone's ping will be small and upload/download speeds will show the max that they pay for when they ping their own city.

Try pinging the server that you play in.

Upload dropped 1 mbps, then download dropped a bit as well. 

Then my ping went way up, lol.
