Ok, many if not all by now know of my obsession with the Canadian rock band Monster Truck. I have seen them play live 30 times now, I have played ONSTAGE with them for a song once. I am in one of their music videos. Backstage with them all the time, hang out usually once a week with the lead singer. I am the ultimate fanboy when it comes to this band! I have multiple signed albums, posters, jackets, shirts and all that. Well, yesterday I acquired the holy grail!!! I caught wind that the lead guitarist was thinking on selling one of his guitars, a 1972 Gibson SG Deluxe that he never uses any more , it is red and he since has changed to only Yellow guitars (yes I have 2 yellow guitars same as his as well LOL)  he used it for over 90% of the recordings on their best selling album Furiosity. Shot him a text and we got to talking it all over, he gave me an AMAZING deal on it as I am pretty much the 5th member of the band LOL, he sold it to me with 2 stipulations, 1.... I don't sell it.... 2.... IF the band gets huge in the next few years he buys it back from me, at over 3 times what I paid him for it AND he will give me a different guitar... SOLD!!!! So now I am the proud owner of some of the bands history!!!!!! He even signed the back of the headstock for me. The guitar is beat up, used, well played, has traveled the world, and is now mine!!!!! 770154657_72SG.thumb.jpg.05a1d713050015aa6e655b77ab5fa022.jpg

Outstanding! Particularly of late, we all need something to focus on. I'm sure this helps give you strength to deal with all the crap we all face.

Dont know if you have owned an SG before, but....   Be careful handling the guitar by the neck.  SG's are prone to cracking in the nut/head-stock area.  So avoid excess pressure or picking it up from that area.

I have an old electric Guitar that was given to my Dad by 1 of the Oak Ridge Boys back in the 1960s when they were touring churches and singing Gospel music. Not sure what brand it is or what it's worth. It's a funky looking thing with slide switches instead of knobs. I'll have to dig it out and take a couple pics of it. It's in pretty darn rough condition but it might be worth something.

Dig it out !!!   Sliding switches.  Fender Mustang, or many Teisco, Guyotone, and Ibanez guitars from that era utilized sliding switches.

Will do. It's been up in the attic for the last 30? years. Could be an Italian built Eko 500/3V. Very similar switches. It's a funky looking thing eh?

It's missing a few parts and is beat up pretty bad from my little brother messing with it when he was younger.

Sorry I posted pics in your thread @StormCrow but I didn't want to make another thread just to post a couple pics.

Definitely looks like an Eko model too.  The body is a match for some Eko models.  But pickups and fret inlays dont match Eko's with same shape.  But I bet this was a popular shape with many manufacturers.
