Resigned from my Coaching Position Tonight

I am unvaxxed.  I have chosen this position for me and my family for many reasons but mostly because I don't believe that the 'science' is as clear as the media and politicians want us to believe it is.

In Manitoba, people like me are banned from all restaurants and sporting facilities.  I had hoped this would change, but it looks like the marginalization and demonization is here to stay.

Tonight I had to resign from my Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coaching position at our local city High School after 8 years.  My last coaching season we finished 6th in the Provence and I had a well respected and successful program up and running.  That is over now.

I also resigned from my Level 2 FIBA Basketball Reffing position where I reffed many of the top HS and some University games in Winnipeg.  (About 60 games a year.)  I liked reffing and was good at it.  That is also over now.

I'm a little pissy about it all. 

Please excuse me if I play a little more angry than normal.  It's coming to grips with the 'new normal' which is complete BS that makes me so angry.  At some point, this all has to end ... right?

Hey Yoshi, I am sorry to hear you had to leave something you are passionate about. I may not agree with your beliefs on vaccination but I respect your thoughts.

This clan and motley group will always be a safe spot for yourself of everyone to play regardless where we stand on this subject.

May push my retirement plans forward over this. Pisses me off nobody cares about the folks that remained working during the whole event. Natural immunity? Not possible, and we don't count it as existing. You took the chance and kept things running before there were vaccines? Tough shit, Emperors orders, get vaxxed or be shut out of life. Joking aside, sucks to give up positions like that, specially under current conditions. Been a football coach for over 15 years now, trained many youth teams and always felt bad when I switched categories, so I kinda feel ya.

I'll withhold myself from giving you the finger this time  Let's hope those kiddo's got some valuable lessons along the years to help them in life and I'm sure they had.

Not an option here in Manitoba.  Banned from all sporting facilities including schools.  Banned from Reffing Association as well.  Must be vaxxed to enter these buildings and to train youth which is considered a vulnerable sector here.

Not interested in having that debate here.  I get to have it every single day in real life.  My post was not to build a case for remaining unvaxxed or to in some way belittle the vaxxed.  It was to point out the dual society we are building through segregation.  This will not end well .... for either side.

You know what I think is even more wrong that you having to give up your job ? People have there surgeries postponed because of people refusing to get vacinated and catching Covid. Filling up the hospitals. I agree its your body BUT your choice should not mean somebody else should suffer for it. Why do other people have to suffer through this another winter because other people do not want the jab ?  Your choice but remember we all have to live with our choices. Sometimes its not what we thought it would be. So suck it up butter cup. All those kids you thaught and reffed now do not get to benifit from your knowedge. So do you still think that desicion is the best one for you ??

Yes ... I still think I made the right choice as I'm sure you are with your choice.  There are pros and cons on both sides of the argument, and the time may come where the vax is right for me. Again, not the point of my post.

This is my issue with the whole debate...  Those who say they don't want it, don't give a shit if you get yours or not.  If it works, then it shouldn't matter if I have mine.  Those in favor of it seem to have the need to jam that decision down others throat.   I honestly feel this also boils down to politics as well.  Right don't give a shit what you do, but the left start forcing these choices on everyone, and that's where the problem lies...

i however choose to get the vax because i put on shoes as a layer of protection.

went through my old air force records and have had 27 different vac's and this one makes 30 in total and i am still fucking crazy but i  am not dead.

"Life saving" is relative. Are we talking about a 20 year old or an 80 year old? For an 80 year old the risk reward probably makes sense. For a healthy 20 year old, it probably doesn't. It is murkier in between.
 

As for mutations, vaccines can also drive mutation. I believe the chances are increased when you have high levels of vaccination and high virus prevalence, which is what we have at the moment.
