  2. Info: The EMP radius on the new mod is much bigger than the old one. However, it is also distance based. How much it defrosts depends on how close it lands. Like flashbangs and how much it affects you depending on distance when it goes off. The old one, its all or nothing. Even if the difference between you and another player is just one unit, he might get fully defrosted and you get nothing. The newer way made it consistent with all other grenades and explosives. Up to you to decide which is better. Just information to understand why everyone is seeing a difference. edit: Forgot to add, at max distance it will defrost a minimum %50 of a fully frozen player. So linear 50-100%. Lower than 50 ended up being too weak in testing. All explosives work the same way with guaranteed minimum damage if within range, not including modifiers and obstructions (cars, walls, flakjacket). The minimum for frags is 75 points, or %25 of max damage.

  3. Thanks @Sammy I did realize the difference between the EMP’s per mod. I selfishly like the bigger radius because that’s how I gain my most points. I also really appreciate all the work you’ve done on the new mod! As a matter of fact I appreciate all the work all the mod and admin work everyone does for our enjoyment! It’s so easy for folks to criticize and whine, sadly a part of life!

  4. Player based rotation is now set to try out. Medium sized maps will play with up to 10 players and then will switch to large maps from 11 players and up. This is can be changed if we want to have more or less players. Additionally, if there are particular maps that people like, they can be added to both rotation sizes however, it would be possible for you to get that map twice depending on when you joined and the number of players at that time. Any comments about this change, please post here, comments about map selection, please post those in the map rotation post. TY. Note to our Admin team, maps can still be manually selected regardless of the number of players. After which, the rotation will revert back to the normal rotation set based on players.

  7. From my actual experience, I can give you a wise advice by doing like me: no more prostate (and no more bladder btw), no more finger into the ass... I preferred the old mod but had to adapt to the new mod, though. Oh sorry! I mixed the topics

  9. Well seeing I’m not real accurate at shooting, as my K/D ratio and accuracy % stats clearly reflect. I’m finding I’m less accurate on the older mod. My biggest gain for points in the newest mod came from the 3 EMP’s I carry. The OLDER MOD EMP’s for me just do not have a big enough radius. Yes a fellow should be more accurate with them but as an average player my accuracy is not that good. I’ve always said my highest scores come from my defrosting! So realizing the newer mod gave me higher scores I’m glad I voted for the new mod! I still will play either mod but would love the EMP radius in the older mod increased a bit, not necessarily as much the new mod. thanks Wayne

  10. Well I voted for the old Mod. And here is my reasons why...... Firstly I remember the hours and hours of fun I had before the new mod came out and to me it was a master piece every aspect was fair and fun ( yes we had whiners but we always will ) when the server is full its a laugh and fun. But not only that its more of a challenge for instance EMP' s in the old 146 mod you had to be accurate when you throw them to get the defrost, where as the new mod 147 it seems as long as you throw it within 20 feet it will defrost so just sprinting past and launching it gets the job done. Which to me is too easy, where is the challenge ?. Then there is the cars the old mod you could defrost multiple targets before it explodes and it can turn a game around if half your team is frozen if used correctly and the other team do not shoot or emp it LOL, Now the 147 mod.... the cars are only good for one thing getting a kill .... and some players save them up until the end then you are dodging them and to be honest they are a real pain and spoil the game for me. The kill streaks and perks in 146 are balanced and fun but 147 it makes the game too easy and kills the fun ,more whining and moaning. For me there is more skill and fun in the old 146 mod, sneaking around defrosting and actually using the weapons to get kills not the perks or kill streaks. Now I know people will not agree with my opinion and that is fine . But I personally play the game to have fun with my friends and have a fair challenge, by that i mean i am not the best player by a long shot and i know most games I will die more than most so kill streaks are not really a thing for me. I prefer to sneak around and get defrosts or try to run to the other side of the map to defrost a team mate that went too far ( nine time's out of ten gets me killed) but its a challenge and fun.. I would like to say though @Sammy thank you for all the work on both mods, Although the 146 to me was a true masterpiece fair and fun..

Absolutely agree 100%, it's like the last Presidential elections asking the tourists to vote, I've said this many many times, Non member no vote on what goes on internally, become a member then fine, no problems with putting in their comments, but voting no. Conclusion, as far as the members go this vote means sweet fuck all

  16. First of all i am happy that the old mod is back ,love seeing it full again. I never liked the new one with people hiding behind their trophy system ,the stealing ,and nades that kill u through 2 walls ,throw an emp in a range of 100 yards and he wil defrost u ,and allot of more bs on the new server. Second why are people non XI voting here (like Bamm ,first time played freezetag march 2021 so he did never play the old one ,or Oster ,u didn't play the old mod now ,and played last 30 days 1 time and already posting) i would say let the members that are always there playing decide it . Like every change there is always something different to get used to ,but comparing the new with the old ,i have to say the old one runs smoother. Thanks for giving the old mod back for this weekend ,i hope it stays on this server.

  19. For those that play on the OWFT server, just want to throw this idea out there. What do you think of the idea of a player based rotation setup? Based on the number of players, the server would start off with medium sized maps, small maps are typically too small for FT, and after a set number of players joining, server switches to larger maps. For example, say, from 1-10 players, medium sized maps would play and from 11-26, the larger maps would play, so essentially 2 sets of rotations based on player count. With this, we would have say 15-20 maps per rotation size, currently we run approx 20-25 maps total. For your information to consider, you might ask, will this reduce the variety of maps? Well, what maps you personally see would just depend on when you join and the number of players currently so in essence, you might not see a particular map if it's classed as a medium sized map and you join when there are lots of players. However, rotations are at our discretion so if there is a particular map(s) that are favorites but is considered a medium sized map, this could be put into the large rotation as well. We do this for the DM servers, works relatively well there, but I don't think this has been tried here for a team game so please comment on whether or not this is something that you would like to try.   22. thats kinda weird that you know tweaking the old mod isent it people asked to put it back the way it was not for tweaking it. for the emp thing @WeednFeed learn to aim better not that it is a bad thing to increase the range but it takes away the people need to learn to AIM

  27. First, I didn't vote before, because I indeed never played the old mod. Yesterday I played 5 hours, if it wasn't even more and I think you can get a general feel about a mod in that time and if you would like to play it more or not. Other than that, yeah, I'm quite new, but in these past 4 months I've played way too many hours both during the day European time as during the night, as many can attest to I believe. If you think that's enough, I leave up to you. Second, as long as it is opened to non-members, I'm gonna voice my opinion. I don't wanna whine about a mod without letting my voice be heard officially if I can. If people care about my opinion is another matter entirely and I again, I leave that up to you. Maybe start a new topic or something to discuss if you want non-members to have influence on these kinds of decisions.

    Dear Freeztag gamers, Even though I am not an XI member, I would like to write something about it. I've been playing on your server for a few years (with a short break in between). And I must say I like both mods very much, but I think the old mod is a bit too slow for me (defrosting, shooting). Need a little action while playing! I would find a mix of both mods cool. But don't think you can do that Because both have its pros and cons sides! On the other hand, I find the old mod good that you can defrost with the RCXD and kill someone! *smile* On the other hand, it totally annoys me that you can steal the care package from the player directly in the new mod! But also only because that annoys me extremely! *smile* But everyone has his own taste! I just find it a pity that here is partly expressed that players who have been with you for years or even just for a short time should not or may not vote. Your server lives not only by members but also by your guests who like to spend time with you or on your server! I for my part like to play on your server and would/will continue to do so, no matter which mod is running now. Lady is at the start to hopefully continue to have fun on your servers! By the way respect to Sammy who created the new mod and developed it further. There is certainly a lot of time and work behind it! And the result can be seen! Keep it up! In this sense we will shoot or see each other on the server!! P.S.: I would have been wrote this to the other existing topic but its already closed or even not opened for everyone any longer! Lady.!

  30. Yeah these two points are the main reason I can't get on with the old mod tbh. As someone who does wayyyyy more defrosting than killing, it's a pain in the arse. Even with snatch and grab on it still isn't as quick, kinda lame

  31. The point I was trying to make has nothing to do with the ACR, my point was the constant changes and people (members) not liking it, speaking up and getting ignored . I would say be happy with people that stand up and tell u in your face that we do not like something, instead of just leaving as well, like so many before us did. Anyways I feel your bitterness, and like i said nothing personal. I have made my good share (+5100 hours)of time in that server in your mods, all out of respect of the good work u delivered over years. And with this mod I can not get myself to like it or get used to it.

  32. Why can't you just say your prefer the guns a certain away instead of being a condescending asshole? I had a conversation with another member on this recently. We agreed we could fully accept if there was a majority that wanted less accurate guns and there was a minority that didn't. Nothing I have seen suggests to me this is the case. People clearly liked the acr/saritch/smr. In my opinion as I've said countless times before we could have tried to improve some of the other guns to give people more of a choice and bring balance that way. That doesn't mean I want "zero-skill noob guns". ESC recently did this, good group of players. Your own bias has so badly clouded your vision on this you can't seem to see it any other way. Why are you right and the large percentage of us who like these so called "noob guns" wrong. Just because you say so? What makes a gun a "noob gun" or "unbalanced". Who gets to decide?

  33. I love freezetag, always have and always will, but sorry @Sammythis mod is the worst of them all. I know we always had an opinion about new mods over the years. The worst grief you got was about the ACR that you took away. But in the end we coped with it, dealt with, lost some players with each newer version, but the true players stayed gave it a chance and accepted it. Is it such a bad thing to for once agree and face it that this mod lost the most true ft players (XI members) then all previous mods and that it is not in the liking????? You can say that they moved on to newer games, and maybe they have. But why now???? Why not 2…3…4 years ago?It seems only a few of us (caring about cod4ft and trying to keep it alive) are not wearing blindfolds. About transparancy yes i voted for the old mod, i like that mod! Whatever is going to be decided. If the new mod stays, i won’ t show up any more till another/better version comes in place. Thanks for ur time and effort Sammy, nothing personal. It is just this mod.

  37. @Dessy 'Double Dutch' is a saying in the UK where you can't understand it, i.e. 'he was speaking Double Dutch to me'. As you have probably noticed people from the UK are not the greatest at languages, and Dutch is one of the hardest to speak. Hence double Dutch is twice as hard to understand as even normal Dutch. We also have a less complimentary saying of 'Going Dutch' i.e. if you went for a meal each individual pays their share of the bill, no good when courting.

    Rex can try compatibility mode by first collect all game updates then load files on PC without installing and place in a folder then right the install.exe select as run by admin for game and all updates once all done then select compatibility mode by right click game.exe properties then select compatibility mode

Just a thought Merlin, if you or the rotation manager could put the list of maps that are beeing used here in the forum so people can comment ( like/dislike ) on the maps names, ( i know you guys put the maps rotations separately in the forums )then it might be easier for you ( or the map manager ) to filter out the unwanted maps. ( i and i know others too are more then happy to tell the people in the game to place their likes/ dislikes in here )

  46. I don't have a problem being transparent about it......I voted old. The new mod combined with the release of Modern Warfare is the reason I stopped playing on the server. There is just something about the newer mod that I don't like. Actually a few things about it. I've been one that has been vocal about it to some of the admins, not here on the forums, but on other platforms (WhattsApp). I was and still am willing to give it a try, I just think the older mod runs more smoothly and isn't congested with all the "extra crap" in this mod. One of the things that made the older games nice (in my opinion), is the fact that there weren't a buttload of options, perks, settings, whatever. you just played. Didn't need to bind extra keys to steal killstreaks, drop trophy systems, etc... The movement on the newer mod is just clunky. The old mod ran smoothly, and definitely felt quicker and more responsive. Sammy, You do great work. I just am not a fan of the newer mod. BUT, that is only my opinion. Being a past server admin of my old clan's server and helping tweak and run mods, I fully understand that you just can't please everyone. Thank you for all your hard work trying to do just that.
