Need some help

So I tried getting into my cod 4 the other day and every time i try to get into server I get awaiting connection and awaiting key code authorization....???? Anyone know what this could be?

I have reconnected several times. It's been happening for 3 days now.

Try to verify ur files in Steam ... click rightmousebutton on COD Modern Warfare -> Properties ->  Local Files -> Verify Integriety Of Game Files

just for fun try this:  open the game in multiplayer then start a server, like if you were going to use your computer to be the server for others to connect to.  start a match then exit out and try to join a game.  O and make sure you are clicking on multiplayer when you open the game, not just the " play" line

Try turning your PC off and on again, that used to fix that error for me.

Hi Icequeen,  sorry you are having problems.  After trying all of the above, you might have to reinstall the game?   Possible some files corrupted?

I've tried all this. Uninstalled everything. I even went to regedit and deleted my key and re did it. I've done all this. Rawr.

Maybe the server itself needs to be restarted?

The default is set  to 10 times try to connect, then the connection times out, you can set it in console to 30 or even higher

go to your configmp.cfg and change the connectionattempts from 10 to 30

this might fix it.

and btw, can you see your favourite servers? Or do you see just the ip,s? In the list

2 things I can think of are Mic and Sound related.  Make sure your Microphone is enabled and Check your sound setting on your PC and disable all of the outputs but the one you use. Which for me is the Realtek High Definition Audio.

 

When you get AMD driver updates it resets the default to HDMI or Digital output. Not sure if Nvidia driver updates do the same thing but both had updates within the last week. My TV PC that I have Kodi Streaming media player on has a Nvidia gts 450 in it and it updated a couple days ago.

mine does that sometimes but then loads the game after a few seconds. wonder if your connection is lagging?

Steam? wow.... I run this only as a stand alone game. no reason to add a performance hit running Steam too.
