This has come up time and time again and it will not provide any noticeable impact other than causing legitimate players to be unable to connect and play on our servers with no issues. These are the statistics that we used to make the decision to disable PunkBuster back in March 2017: Since we disabled PunkBuster a grand total of.. 6 bans have been added to the ban list. But I play the game as the developers intended i never change anything if trees and bushes were put into a map it means they put hundreds of hours of hard work and thought into the map to give us an amazing game. For Me this is a classic game that was so amazing when it first came out why would I spoil it now.... And to be honest for those that do they have no skill they are not world class players they are just CHEATS who can not stand to lose. And the excuse of WELL IF THEY DO I WILL TOO sorry does not wash with me....As i have told my kids numerous times IF YOUR FRIEND JUMPED INTO A FIRE WOULD YOU BE STUPID ENOUGH TO FOLLOW. Grow up stop being so competitive AND BLOODY HAVE FUN .. I used to love crawling around maps getting defrosts a few years ago from one end of a map to the other but now thats impossible because of people who feel the need to cheat and remove the foliage ..... Like I said no skill and no HONOUR

BUT, it will limit the FPS, config tweeks, correct? This is what i have heard the most complaints about for at least the past two years. As a former admin, I'd much rather hear people complain about the not connecting thing much more than the complaints about tweeking out the foliage etc by certain players IMO

We removed it because everyone was getting kicked from the game, not because of hacks, just because of other errors and communication issues

And that is exactly what i do not WANT?, i am at home in cod4 and in freezetag, i like the people there i like the game play ..... so i like the total package, we can have a laugh we can have a banter but in the end we know who we are and what we mean. Now that the gameplay is changed it feels like it is being done without consulting us, the regular players that populate the server. And with doing that, there is the risk that everybody ends up in Rust and start owning your ass, and we will have to hear your banter day in and day out ?

I have noticed some recent changes, and i have to ask something. Are we trying to fuck this server up so badly so nobody wants to play this game anymore? just a list of things that are just horrible changed - Duke is even weaker then the regular soldier, so what is the point of taking the duke anymore? - Nowhere there is ammo to be found, so empty gun... too bad just die to get new ammo? -Cars have 0 protection against being shot, so do not bother to defrost with them because they die instantly These are the common things i use, and I DON'T LIKE IT! Keep up the good work and i will move on as well, as did a lot of others.

ahhh i see...so cant we set everything to run default on server..so there is no console tweaking? i use console tweaks but its cuz everyone else does so i wanna even out..back in cod2 we jus used snaps and rate..thats it..jus wonderin if we can fix the whole console issue by makin everyone run default as max :cat:

I would FAR prefer Sammie's valuable time development time was spent in preventing "legal" hacks used by some sad fuckers (and we all know who you people are) on the >XI< MW2 server. For example seeing through foliage, reducing max packets so you cannot be hit by a bullet, fixing an FPS for everybody on the server at one level, anti stick commands typed into console during a game play for all to see, disabling binds for anything outer than text insults to one another, reducing the hit box, etc ,etc ,etc.. In summary leveling the playing field for EVERYBODY who plays... IF that cannot be achieved then publish the known "legal" hacks for ALL to use The most interesting one I have see recently was the player who started to lag as soon as I started to shoot at them! Now that must have taken some work! I think these things have cost >XI< many more players than messing with an already EXCELLENT Mod.. Thank you very much for that Sammy.. If it isn't broke why fix it?

I agree some polling should be done before a change is pushed. Less changes at a time to get accurate feedback and less of a bitch fest would help. I say only look for changes when there is a bug or the community is pushing for it. When changes are done announce them on the forums (if that isn't being done already) then wait for the feedback. The feedback will be taken and if it is an improvement great. If not some tweaks can made or revert to what worked before. There are countless and thankless hours being put in development I'm sure. Maybe thank the guy working on it then give the feedback instead of just ripping it. The process in which changes are happening can be improved and I'm sure it will. I also agree that I don't want the mod going soft core in any shape or form.

polls would be good things like top 3 thing out 5-10 thing people wants and out those 3 win what and how should be changed maybe? so not to much to do list keep it simple.

You used to be able to use Punkbuster to ensure that CVARs were within defined parameters and if not kick for it. However it is now an unsupported application and as users can no longer install it without manual steps and as the Punkbuster servers are now disabled it cannot be used. We have only ever had CVAR checks enabled at one point in time for a few months and it didn't do much. I will not be a part of putting the last nail in the coffin of COD4 and this community. Duc

Depends which node you end up on. Website has a couple of nodes and for some annoying reason it only works on one at a time (something to do with a local cache). There is a website update that I need to get applied so that may fix it. Duc

I also collect knives, although not a seriously as others. As a kid I had many "gas station specials", nothing worth keeping besides a Buck folder that as the only decent one. But recently, I started getting interested in blade steel and stuff. Of course I stumbled on some Cold Steel videos and reviews. I love the large folders. Here are the three knives I recently bought: Top: Cold Steel Voyage XL with 5.5 inches Tanto blade in AUS 10a Japanese steel ($79 CDN) Mid: Cold Steel Voyager 'Large" with 4 inches Clip point blade in AUS 10a. ($65 CDN) Bottom: Ontario Knife Company (OKC) Rat II in D2 Tool steel. ($60 CDN) Not very expensive knives when bough on sale, but not cheap either. The OKC is an EDC blade. The big Tanto is a bragging right-type knife...I wonder if those may increase in value over a long period. The CS Voyager Large is very comfortable and grippy. I recommend that size. For people that can go beyond the Cold Steel crazy videos and appreciate the stuff for what it is, the TRI-AD lock is definitively a winner... the XL can stand over 450 pounds of weight on the handle without coming undone...so its fairly strong!

Quite the heated discussion. No matter the tweaks made for fairness, some will like it some will not. Goes with the territory. Just to clarify, no changes as of yet have been made to Duke. Keep in mind that while Duke has lots of armor you must watch out for an enemy having the AP perk. No different than how that perk makes it easier to take down helis. That said, the ratio of extra health to extra armor is being rebalanced. No changes made to the RC in a long while. And... while I always try to be cordial and receptive but frank, I dont appease nobody. Nadda. Never. Good luck trying. Sometimes a vocal minority is right, sometimes it is wrong. The majority isnt always right either. Case by case.

Since the server is just getting started, we limit teams to two players... until the server has more regular players... there's 250 slots... so there's plenty of room for growth. I didn't set a team limit back in November when the server first went online... people were grouping up in raid parties of up to 5, discouraging solo players from staying.. so the team limit has been set at a max of 2 to encourage solo players to stay & even the playing field...it has resulted in more pvp & an overall increase in happiness to the players that are on the server. As the population increases, the rules can be changed accordingly.

Couldn't there be some kind of polling on changes? As with most things it seems like the vocal minority will make their voices heard and changes made to appease them, possibly against what the quieter majority may prefer. Not saying that is the case here, but just wary of it. Here is one : Pretty much everyone I have asked wishes you could turn into killstreaks faster, as that half second or so while you are switching and can't use your gun is problematic when an enemy appears and you can't shoot them. In reality I've probably asked fewer than 5-10% of people that actually play the server, however it does point towards something that people would potentially prefer. At the same time I haven't ever made a post about it as if everyone made a post on every little thing they wanted tweaked it would be a complete mess.

We love to hear the community opinions, but we don't need to make threats about leaving. The more feedback we get from the community the better we can make the server. We will continue to tweak things as we get more feedback. We started to make minor tweaks because of community feedback about the server. Just need to find a happy medium, its a work in progress and we will find the happy place, just will take a few tweaks to get it right. Thanks Pink for your thoughts.
