Ten years of good times on the cod4 freezetag 1 server are coming to an end for me. I'll be moving to Japan in a few weeks, roni allowing, and will not be able to play with you guys anymore. I would like to thank each and every one of you for all the fun I have had over the long years gaming with everybody. The fact that the server is still going strong over 10 years later really speaks for how great an environment you all have created. I hope that if I come back in a few years the server is still alive and kicking. So soon it will be goodbye for me, but keep on being awesome guys. Unless you advocated that everyone start living in a bubble two months ago this is the case. There are several explicit posts in this thread of people saying things that will lead to greater infection, and if hospitals are overrun, potentially more deaths. This isn't a black or white issue though, it's a continuum. Here is a quote from @RobMc (nothing personal fucker) : "I personally cannot understand, especially in the modern world trying to isolate all populations, it is obvious to a blind man that this is not and never will work, let nature get on with it, we'll survive." I know several direct family members that share this sentiment. I can see where it is coming from. I don't believe we should do nothing however, but at the same time think things are going too far. Like @Timmah! said earlier in this thread, "Meanwhile, 25,000 people die EVERY DAY from starvation... every day. Where's the media coverage? Not so much, eh?" While we should try to ease the burden on the hospitals as best we can, putting everyone on lockdown, making millions unemployed, and massively disrupting supply chains in the end may make things worse in the long run.

What I see, in Europe at the moment, is a death rate of around 4%, 3.7- 3.9 UK and others, 4.6% Italy, we'll see how it pans out over the next week, no pun intended. @7Toes My Dad had cancer twice before passing in his sleep one night. Both times, hope was low. The second time around, he relapsed and caught it at stage 4. He almost died and had to receive blood and platelet transfusions everyday, but the medicine has come so much further than when he had it the first time (12 years later). After completing his six chemotherapy treatments, he went from the brink of death to 97% cured, only needing to take a pill each day to maintain the remaining 3%. Two weeks before he passed away in his sleep, he told me he felt better than he had in a long time. I will pray for you, and I beg you not to lose hope. Edited: The cancer did not kill my Dad. The doctor confirmed that.

I went to the doctor today because I have been sick this week. I was in Japan back in February for work. They did not have a coronavirus kit to test me with, so they tested me for the flu to rule that out first. In the meantime, I got a doctor's note to not go to work. I was ordered to self-quarantine myself in my apartment. I can't go anywhere. It seems kind of ridiculous, since it just feels like a sinus infection. I am hoping for the best.

Wow, this is really turning into a panic, not a pandemic, thank you scientists, doctors and politicians for completely fucking up everyones lives. Reality check, we have so far had 35 deaths in UK, our food shops are stripped bare with queues waiting for them to open. You cannot buy medicines, freezers, fridges, bread makers etc all gone in a frenzy of panic. The irony is that those most affected, the frail and elderly are the ones unable to get the things they need. Mankind is showing his true colours. It is going to get worse but the death toll so far is nothing to write home about, there is no hope at all for humanity, we are still basic animals. A great demonstration of just how powerful the media is.

Tron you are a nice bloke, intelligent, and in your own way are trying to help us, but in fact are having the opposite effect. The average person is not stupid and can figure out there is an epidemic or pandemic occurring, but neither they, nor their governments, nor the medical profession can as yet do anything about it. Yes some people will die, as they do with every virus/disease/ailment, but fact is many more will die of cancer, heart disease etc etc.in the same period, do we make a fuss ?, no. We will all die sometime mate, we have idiots who have been shot at, stabbed, involved in crashes, have serious ailments etc do they wail about it, do they fuck. So you are well meaning, but the medical profession do have some self interest and the press love a story. We can do as little about this as we can being struck by an asteroid,, and I for one would not thank you for telling me it was coming, give it a rest mate, play with us and kill us there.
