It depends on 3 things. Your video card, your cable, and your monitor. All 3 must support DP v2.1. Your link speed will fall to the lowest supported rate of those 3 items. From what I remember from previous posts you have a RTX5070, which does support DP/HDMI v2.1 Did you end up getting the Omen 27q or 27qs? or something else? Both of those only support up to DP v1.4/HDMI v2.0 (I have the Omen 27qs as my primary monitor)

Yeah with DP mine shows link speed but not with HDMI. My monitor says it's 2.1 but I have heard about some not being real 2.1 with not full speed support.

GPU-Z will show current link speed in the 'Advanced' tab Edit: Just noticed that it doesn't show my secondary monitor connected via HDMI in that section. So maybe it only displays info for DP connections....or the fact that my 2nd monitor is very old and uses a DVI to HDMI cable.... Edit2: Just to be clear, in my screenshot it shows 8.1gbps link speed...but also important to know that that's for each lane...since there are 4 lanes it's a total bandwidth of 32.4gbps or DP v1.4. So be sure to multiply your link speed by the number of lanes to get your total bandwidth.

I know the specs of cables but that doesn't mean it's what I am getting to the pc. I don't have amd GPU anymore and when I did it's software showed the speeds of cable I was getting. Don't see it on Nvidia control panel/app or GPUz.

Krunch was right, it is the spec of the cable. Plus need to know the spec of the monitor. If the cable is higher than the monitor can display, the display will throttle.

@BUDMAN don't make jealous with those speeds , nycz was talking hdmi speed for streaming i guess no stutter

need special equipment or a $70 hand held unit search your local area for those services

As the title says, how do i check what the bandwidth speed i am getting from my hdmi or display port cable so i know if its getting max performance from it?
