WHERE: Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, Tennessee

WHEN: Arrive Thursday, Oct. 20; depart Sunday, Oct. 23 (or other arrangements as you prefer)

AIRPORT: McGhee Tyson Airport, Knoxville, TN: It's about 40 miles from the airport to Gatlinburg and a taxi is $65 and up. If you're flying in, best to rent a car at the airport.

MOTEL: Quality Inn Creekside, 125 Leconte Creek Road, Gatlinburg, 37738. Rates: night of Oct. 20 is $74.99; next two nights are $89.99 for a total of $287.48 including tax for Oct. 20-24. If you wish to arrive earlier that week, it will be $74.99 for each night before Thursday, and the same rate should you choose to stay an extra night on Sunday and not leave until Monday. To reserve, call the motel at 865-436-4865, and tell them you're reserving at the XI rate for that weekend.

PARKING: Pigeon Ford and Gatlinburg are both crammed with tourist attractions. They are about seven miles apart and shuttles run between them several times per hour. You will not need a car to drive to any events and it's suggested that you park at the motel and leave your vehicle there because the roads are very heavily congested every hour of the day.

DINNER/DRINKS: Saturday, Oct. 22, 5 p.m. (or whenever you arrive) Smoky Mountain Brewery, adjacent to the motel (see map below)

OFFICIAL XI EVENTS:
- Friday dayside: (Open)
- Friday PM: (Open)
- Saturday dayside: (Open)
- Saturday PM: Smoky Mountain Brewery, 5 p.m. on.

WHY ARE FRIDAY AND SATURDAY EVENTS OPEN?
Because this year's XI Fest is in a huge tourist area with literally hundreds of activities to choose from, we are relying on those of you who plan to attend to suggest, and ultimately decide, what official clan activities will take place Friday morning and afternoon, and, Saturday morning.
Please use the following links as well as Google to find events you are interested in and which you think others may be interested in. For instance, Mule is exploring GoCart activities and will be suggesting locations and prices.

Please use this thread to suggest activities.

i say we go through every brewery they have in the area lol :sofa:

I thought that was Thursday's event? And since it was a given that is why they left that night off the list

That said, most people will come in Thursday so we need to maybe add something to that list for Thursday night when the bars close early and boot us out.

Also, who's going to start collecting the bail money?

Hands down the BEST carts is the Nascar Speedpark. I've spent all day there wreckin the carts havin a blast. They have arcade games, mini golf, and a pay one price for unlimited everything deal available.  https://nascarspeedpark.com/tickets/      It's a good distance from Gburg though. Maybe a 30 min car ride depending on traffic.     https://nascarspeedpark.com/

Whatever you do DON"T bother with Cooters indoor carts. It truly sucks. More like bumper cars than go-carts. OK for small kids if you need to entertain them and get them a kart fix but no fun for adults. Every time I went there Cooter was really hanging out signing autographs. It's also the only place in the country left to purchase a confederate flag if you so desire. Amazon even banned them!

Hope this helps.

Ohhh yea almost forgot about Hillbilly Golf! Go there. Pay the money and go. You will pass it on the left coming into Gburg on the main drag. It's a unknown national treasure.

Okay gang, I have booked a room for the 19th thru  the 22nd! Love the area and looking forward to partying with you idiots....some of you again!! I'll be driving, as we do about every year. Not sure if it's with the wife and/or son and junior member, Travis/Midgetnator>XI< (who joined me last fest). Too soon to tell, maybe both!

Picked this up last trip this past April!

I would really like to go. Been with y'all almost 6 years and have yet to meet any of you IRL. I'm gonna save up what I can, but y'all know I've been poor for the last few years. (need a better job, may go back to teaching.)

Is anyone from the south driving? Maybe I could catch a ride with you. I know greyhound goes to Memphis.

If I can get there, would anyone be willing to share a room with me? PM me, please.

BTW: my birthday is Oct 1st so meeting y'all would be my gift to myself.

Hey guys . Where is everyone that is going to the fest at. Meaning hotel condo or cabin . We just want to know where everyone is staying at.

For European members :

If anyone is interested to go to the fest but think the flight ticket is too expensive just let me know,i'll see what i can do whith my staff tickets. It would not be free but less expensive than any "normal" ticket.Flight would be from Paris to Atlanta then about 4 hours drive ( rental car is on me )

I'm not sharing my room whith any snoring/farting/pissing on bed(  :harhar: Geforce) idiot so you'll still have to pay for your hotel room  :excl:

Think about it and if you are interested just let me know and we will work on the details .
