You've got take into consideration all the expense of even getting to port for cruise , Flights for some will be 4 or 500 then cruise on top of that.. Most people can do trip but only if they say split expenses.. GG and are open to any thing. Give example of expense for a trip average from states to this years fest, We spent over 1500 and had two nights free.. So something to think about as I'm sure all will..But for us next year will have to be in states and hopefully closer cause were going to Cabo next September also , Fl for Christmas this year ,and back in June to key west for family vaca..So have to pick and choose.... Can't do all of it.. Just my two cents worth.. Nashville is fun and lots of idiots already in area. Would be another big one in my opinion.... Just saying..2 points

Yeah Burt, since they went nuts with the licenses and passports it has been nuts,I've been stopped by one of your choppers over there on the Detroit River and lake St.Clair warning me to stay over on the Canadian side of the lake or river,as if I can see the boundary on the water.Next thing you know they'll want us to identify if the fish was a Canadian Walleye or was it a US Walleye.Haha.Good luck and keep on fishing.2 points

What is worth living for?
L!ckALotAPus and one other reacted to deerejon for a topic
Randall, Angus really said it best but I will add my 2 cents. I really think it IS a generational thing in that when I was your age and even younger I craved independence. Not saying you don't but to that end I left home at 18, struggled, worked, got fired, got evicted for late rent, ate mac and cheese and ramien noodles. I even donated blood for $7.00 and cookies and juice to get a meal. But through it all I had live friends to struggle with...what I mean is that we parents today shelter our children and get them phones and internet and that in turn gives them no motivation. When I was young and hungry I had to work through it....my son just comes up out of the basement and eats. They communicate online and rarely interact with living breathing people. They may have thousands of online friends but real life interaction becomes difficult. Get up everyday and go to work. Go out every weekend and find people. Disconnect from the internet and go fishing, swimming, hang gliding...whatever...you will meet like minded people to share your interests with and then you'll find life long friends and even a life long partner..... But its a scary journey and difficult to start....but once undertaken will change your outlook. It may take weeks months or even years to get there but honestly when I remember all my struggles what comes through loudest is the great times in between... Life seems daunting but really its a blast. No one....not me or anyone you see is happy all the time....life is a series of hard times broken up by fantastic times.... I hope this doesn't just sound like cheerleading rhetoric because it isn't,,,,,its how I really feel and live.....work all day and love my peeps and time in between. Good Luck and remember its a journey and it wont start unless you take steps.... Be well Buddy, we're all here for ya!!! (even if we are your online friends, which I just advocated against...lol...)2 points -

The happiness and joy in your life there you are responsible for. You only live once enjoy it. Enjoy the little things and do not look at what another has. Am open to others and give them the light in the eyes. Happiness and true love are not for sale. I too have a suicide attempt was declared incapacitated for work when I considered. Am through a deep valley gone but came back strong from there thanks to my loved ones. Am now at the service of society and do volunteer work that I still can do. Now the joy I get from there to life.2 points -

A cruise is a good idea and more affordable that you might think. They start at around $50 per person a day, so you and the spouse could do a 3-day Caribbean cruise for less than $400, which includes meals, port charges and some shipboard activities. The added expense would be getting to the ship. But I like New Orleans. We've been down three times and the Quarter is MADE for Idiots - bar after bar with some of the best music you've heard and food you've ever eaten. And even if it's not Mardi Gras, you'll likely see titties flopping along Royal Street. Coffee and beignets at Café du Monde should be on everyone's bucket list. And there's the voodoo museum, the cool cemeteries and a quick trip on the steamboat Natchez.1 point -
Hey Johnny; Im familiar with Colchester reef and other areas on the Canadian side for smallmouth fishing. We quit going over after the license and pass port issues became a pain. There's a lot of great bass fishing in both Ohio and Michigan so we stay there now. I also bass fish on Saginaw bay on Lake Huron. All of it's catch and release. Now walleye and perch, maybe not catch and release. We love them on the table. Last week, we perch fished near Monroe Michigan and got our limit of 100. The catch weighed 30 lb. They were nice sized perch.1 point

Yes. Some advice if you dont already follow it. Stay away from facebook. Twitter. And all of the myraid open forums. Including visiting or reading it. They are full of dumbasses and downright mean sons of bitches that dont give what you think a second thought. If at all. The worst black holes of society that will eventually swallow you whole. I never had a facebook account and dont want one. Used twitter maybe once. Had it up to here with open forums trying to have adult conversations inundated with bullshit trolls everywhere flooding them. Back in the day it was the flamer. Fan the flames and watch. However the modern troll is much meaner and personal (hence the phrase 'dont feed the troll'). Social media and anonymity without consequences is a bad combo. So mostly ditched those as well. I feel much better for it.1 point

Angus put it very well. Your generation looks for the instant gratification in things. That leaves little room for truly enjoying or seeing what is around you. Sets expectations that are so hard to reach on a daily basis. Slow down and take the time to look around you and not judge but just look. There is so much around on a daily basis that slides by and is never scene are enjoyed as most look for that thrill. This constant assault from social media is so destructive. 99% of what you see from friends and others are there life's highlight reel. No one ever posts ( like you. That I think is great ) that there having a tough time or really talk about what's going on within them. We all have tough times. The last 6 years for me has been hell but I still find so many things to see and enjoy. Just open the eyes and the mind and look for it. Allow yourself to do things outside of your comfort zone. Doesn't have to be anything wild. Think of the biggest baddest 1% biker that would scare the living crap out of you. Give them a baby to play with and they generally will make a ass out of there self playing with the baby make baby noises and laughing and playing peek a boo with the baby. It's funny but a lot of people now will not do that to often in fear of what others might think. It's the simple things the odd things that bring happiness. Take the time to look deep within you and learn who you are and what triggers that happiness with in you. What do you really enjoy are think you would enjoy and go after it. If it doesn't work out so what you tried and find that next thing and go after it too.1 point

What is worth living for?
RANDALL reacted to TheLastColdBeer for a topic
Randall, this life is a gift. All yours, and no one can live it for you, or tell you how to live it. You are free to choose your path, for good or ill, as you see fit. I still wake up every day with wonder at this creation, and what each day holds. I guess what makes this life precious for me, is being useful and productive to others. Going to work, meeting challenges, and being as good as your word. Another friend is coming home under hospice care, and I'll spend time with Rich while his life passes. Ain't fun, but it's part of the cradle to grave saga. I'm still in awe of my wife for all she endured before dying, and can't let Lori down by forgetting what a magnificent prize life is.1 point -

Every generation has been like that. So no need to be concerned about that as though yours is somehow different. Mine says the same thing. There is no such thing as 'the good ol days'. The judgemental people? Fuck em. Tell them to mind their own business. To answer your question, what makes you happy? Doesnt have to be some grandiose thing. If you dont know the answer then that is the first step. As someone with an Avengers avatar, maybe you enjoy creative things. 'Randall.... smash!'1 point
-
Hey.. I'm not even going to pretend to know your situation and pretend I have all the answers. But Ill be the first to give you my thoughts without rambling.. First off, Screw the loans, Those will take care of themselves.. Second Your right this generation including my very own son which I love very much doesn't have a grip on what they should be concentrating on ( he's 19 so I get it , But I had a path at his age, I think more should at younger ages instead of floating for ever.).. Worry about your world and whats in front of you, Not things you can't control. If you want to control more then set yourself in that direction and make changes in the world the right way. With intelligence and compassion. I trust every one till I'm screwed over, Then I leave them behind, Do the same, life is easier that way and it pays off for you in the long run.. So now is it worth living for...? Yes ,But only if you make it.. No one else will. Crazy example, This weekend, XI fest. You could have come and meet wonder people from all over the world..You could make new friends , New contacts for work maybe or just meet someone that maybe when you needed that one person to talk to make the day right ... Start with yourself. Get a new hobby, Like me when i was younger. I did everything I could get my hands. Your a very bright young man,That evident from being a engineer. So do something that takes those skills, Build rc planes or boats or helicopters and join a club like a did in Orlando.. Join a indoor soccer league.. Anything you like.. Point is start with yourself.. Once you do the rest will come easy cause people will see a new you and want to know you.. The real Randall.. So is it worth it...? Yes cause young men like you will be the men of that help the next generation proceed and make it.. Make your self count and make a difference people see.. Yes lifes a bitch some times , More and more every day cause of the world we live in... But make a difference in yourself, Then make a difference in the world and it will count!! and yes... As you asked, Worth it.... Were here for you more ways then you might realize, I met a wonder group idiots this weekend that I know would move heaven and earth if asked of them.. And yes you can laugh at my spelling and grammar skills1 point
-
Randall! There is so much to live for. You have to find it. I know its easier said then done but the world holds so much beauty. Travel a little. Visit another country. Another culture. You never know you might find solace somewhere you never expected.1 point

Hi and welcome to our Ark Survival Evolved page. more info on the steam page. https://store.steampowered.com/app/346110/ARK_Survival_Evolved/ As a man or woman stranded naked, freezing and starving on the shores of a mysterious island called ARK, you must hunt, harvest resources, craft items, grow crops, research technologies, and build shelters to withstand the elements. Use your cunning and resources to kill or tame & breed the leviathan dinosaurs and other primeval creatures roaming the land, and team up with or prey on hundreds of other players to survive, dominate... and escape!Dinosaurs, Creatures, & Breeding! -- over 100+ creatures can be tamed using a challenging capture-&-affinity process, involving weakening a feral creature to knock it unconscious, and then nursing it back to health with appropriate food. Once tamed, you can issue commands to your tames, which it may follow depending on how well you’ve tamed and trained it. Tames, which can continue to level-up and consume food, can also carry Inventory and Equipment such as Armor, carry prey back to your settlement depending on their strength, and larger tames can be ridden and directly controlled! Fly a Pterodactyl over the snow-capped mountains, lift allies over enemy walls, race through the jungle with a pack of Raptors, tromp through an enemy base along a gigantic brontosaurus, or chase down prey on the back of a raging T-Rex! Take part in a dynamic ecosystem life-cycle with its own predator & prey hierarchies, where you are just one creature among many species struggling for dominance and survival. Tames can also be mated with the opposite gender, to selectively breed successive generations using a trait system based on recombinant genetic inheritance. This process includes both egg-based incubation and mammalian gestation lifecycles! Or put more simply, raise babies! You must eat and drink to survive, with different kinds of plants & meat having different nutritional properties, including human meat. Ensuring a supply of fresh water to your home and inventory is a pressing concern. All physical actions come at a cost of food and water, long-distance travel is fraught with subsistence peril! Inventory weight makes you move slower, and the day/night cycle along with randomized weather patterns add another layer of challenge by altering the temperature of the environment, causing you to hunger or thirst more quickly. Build a fire or shelter, and craft a large variety of customizable clothing & armours, to help protect yourself against locational damage & extreme temperatures using the dynamic indoor/outdoor insulation calculation system!By chopping down forests full of trees and mining metal and other precious resources, you can craft the parts to build massive multi-leveled structures composed of complex snap-linked parts, including ramps, beams, pillars, windows, doors, gates, remote gates, trapdoors, water pipes, faucets, generators, wires and all manner of electrical devices, and ladders among many other types. Structures have a load system to fall apart if enough support has been destroyed, so reinforcing your buildings is important. All structures and items can be painted to customize the look of your home, as well as placing dynamically per-pixel paintable signs, textual billboards, and other decorative objects. Shelter reduces the extremes of weather and provides security for yourself and your stash! Weapons, clothing & armour gear can also be painted to express your own visual style.Pick seeds from the wild vegetation around you, plant them in plots that you lay down, water them and nurture them with fertilizer (everything poops after consuming calories, which can then be composted, and some fertilizer is better than others). Tend to your crops and they will grow to produce delicious and rare fruits, which can also be used to cook a plethora of logical recipes and make useful tonics! Explore to find the rarest of plant seeds that have the most powerful properties! Vegetarians & vegans can flourish, and it will be possible to master and conquer the ARK in a non-violent manner!By bringing sufficient rare sacrificial items to special Summon locations, you can capture the attention of one of the ARK’s god-like mythical creatures, who will arrive for battle. These gargantuan monstrosities provide an end-game goal for the most experienced groups of players and their armies of tames and will yield extremely valuable progression items if they are defeated.Create a Tribe and add your friends to it, and all your tames can be commanded by and allied to anyone in your Tribe. Your Tribe will also be able to respawn at any of your home spawn points. Promote members to Tribe Admins to reduce the burden of management. Distribute key items and pass-codes to provide access to your shared village! All items are crafted from Blueprints that have variable statistics and qualities and require corresponding resources. More remote and harsh locales across the ARK tend to have better resources, including the tallest mountains, darkest caves, and depths of the ocean! Level-Up your player character by gaining experience through performance actions, Level-Up your tames, and learn new "Engrams" to be able to craft Items from memory without the use of blueprints, even if you die! Customize the underlying physical look of your character with hair, eye, and skin tones, along with an array of body proportion modifiers. As you explore the vast ARK, you'll find clues left by other Survivors who have made the ARK their home in ages past, in the form of collectable detailed 3D "Explorer Notes". By uncovering all of these, you can begin to piece together the true nature of the ARK, and discover its purpose!Everything you craft has durability and will wear-out from extended use if not repaired, and when you leave the game, your character remains sleeping in the persistent world. Your inventory physically exists in boxes or on your character in the world. Everything can be looted & stolen, so to achieve security you must build-up, team-up, or have tames to guard your stash. Death is permanent, and you can even knock out capture, and force-feed other players to use them for your own purposes, such as extracting their blood to for transfusions, harvesting their faecal matter to use as fertilizer, or using them as food for your carnivorous tames! The mysterious ARK is a formidable and imposing environment, composed of many natural and unnatural structures, above-ground, below-ground, and underwater. By fully exploring its secrets, you’ll find the most exotic procedurally randomized creatures and rare blueprints. Also to be found are Explorer Notes that are dynamically updated into the game, written by previous human denizens of the ARK from across the millennia, creatively detailing the creatures and backstory of the ARK and its creatures. Fully develop your in-game ARK-map through exploration, write custom points of interest onto it, and craft a Compass or GPS coordinates to aid exploring with other players, whom you can communicate with via proximity text & voice chat, or long-distance radio. Construct & draw in-game signs for other players to help them or lead them astray... And yet.. how do you ultimately challenge the Creators and Conquer the ARK? A definitive end-game is planned. On the 100+ player servers, your character, everything you built, and your tames, stay in-game even when you leave. You can even physically travel your character and items between the network of ARK's by accessing the Obelisks and uploading (or downloading) your data from the Steam Economy! A galaxy of ARKs, each slightly different than the previous, to leave your mark on and conquer, one at a time -- special official ARKs will be unveiled on the World-map for limited times in singular themed events with corresponding limited-run items! Furthermore, you can now design or randomize your own unique 'Procedurally Generated ARKs', for infinite replayability and endless surprises. You can play single-player local games, and bring your character and items between unofficial player-hosted servers, back and forth from singleplayer to multiplayer. Mod the game, with full Steam Workshop support and customized Unreal Engine 4 editor. See how we built our ARK using our maps and assets as an example. Host your own server and configure your ARK precisely to your liking. We want to see what you create! The over-the-top hyper real imagery of the ARK its creatures is brought to expressive life using a highly-customized Unreal Engine 4, with fully dynamic lighting & global illumination, weather systems (rain, fog, snow, etc) & true-to-life volumetric cloud simulation, and the latest in advanced DirectX11 and DirectX12 rendering techniques.
