Full Server

I tried to get into the COD5 DM server when it was full today but when I used the password all it did was try to redirect me to another server that apparently doesn't exist. It used to be that if a member typed in the password on a full server it bumped a non member out to make an available slot for you. Is the password the same as it has been for years or has there been a change that I am unaware of?

I've heard this before -  Being a member can someone send me a pm with the "how to"  get on a server that's full when you are a member.

 

If it makes a difference I play the Frz Tag Server #1 the most.

i have used the pw lately it dose not work you just get redirected to a server you don't want to go to...that redirect shit should be turned off if i want to go to that server i would have tryed that server not forced to go to  server.....

Should be an easy fix I would assume. That server was one of the ones that got migrated yes? Maybe it's redirect is on as default setup and needs to be reconfigured after the move. Just spit balling, hope it gets sorted for you.

i just used the pw om cod5 dm server it let me in a redirected me again lol it is broke..but please turn off the redirect i rather see the server is full.then be forced to go to a server i did not choose......it looks like a cheap tactic to get numbers in another server of ours just my opinion......

No luck with password either. Just redirected so I keep hitting the server refresh button until a slot opens up. But thought members get preference to non members. They do on the ft server.

I also think we should make MW server as close as possible to the DM server since it is so popular. Some things we wouldn't be able to do cause it is the Open Warfare Mod.

Yes, it's good to see the DM server full. And busy a lot of the day, too. Noticed some spec'ing long times so we do need PW system for members. The redirect has been going on for a while actually. My redirect loaded maps and I did get into a map, as I recall.

The way it used to work was that there were actually 22 slots on the '20-slot' server and members could

access the two extra places by using the password.  Now, as has been said, one doesn't get into the game

but is redirected away within seconds.

iim not sure the pw  thing works-but ts great server gets full.redirect is fine as long as people stay and play-I say make the mod a bit crazy in mw so peeps stay longer .crank up the weapons mess with the gravity-if ya dont thats ok .i still think its the best mod-for some reason the sound in mw mod is so much better for me -more distinctive where you can tell where people are moving all around you-

Loitering in spectate is a chronic issue with some players - SgtBarnes (with all his aliases) comes to mind.  Admins should remind those they see loitering in spectate that such behavior is unacceptable on servers as popular as XIs.

So you are saying that, when there are exactly 20 players in the server, and you try to connect as the 21st, you are redirected.  And then you try again with the password (you're still trying to be the 21st player) and it still redirects you.  Did I state that correctly as you see it?

 

 

I see that HLSW reports the slot compliment as "20(22)" but if you can confirm we never get past 20, then I will open a ticket - or you can (http://www.xtremeidiots.com/index.php?app=tickets) - and we'll see about getting @@Ruggerxi involved.  I can see the way the server is configured for the game by looking in its config file, but I don't have access to any admin dashboard on the actual server, so I cannot verify it has been set to 22 slots.

yes sir turn off the redirect it does not allow you just to quit you have to wait for your self to load in the other server which by that time a slot could have open up and someone else has taken it

Open console (I assume cod5 has it) type in /disconnect and it will halt the process and bring you back to your server list if you are stuck in a loading screen and don't want to wait

Ah, so the 22 slots are actually 21 unless they are 20?  That's much clearer, thanks.

 

It doesn't seem set up right from the player's perspective because it loads the map then places you in spec mode

until it kicks you back out into the ether.  It looks as if the rented slot is just being used to tell folks they cannot play

before kicking them out and that is odd.  I'd find it less irritating personally for the game itself to declare "Server is

full" as it does elsewhere/ did before here.

Ah so there's the problem its a 20 man server . I thought it was a 22 man server. Some head admin should ask for 2 slots. As far as the redirect we should turn it off because 2 people sorry my bad 2 members don't like it ? Ever stop to think about all the other people who get redirected to an XI server ?  We do need to populate those servers as well . And seeing as you guys don't want to go there let us try to send other people there. So here's the fix look at the DM server if it says 20 don't hit the button Even better if that servers rocking why not be an even better member and go to an empty server and try to get it rocking. Or hit the button and we can do that for you.

Forgot DJ the way it's suppose to work is if there's 20 slots and you want a members only entrance. You take one slot out and password it. So the server is now 19 slots and 1 pass-worded slot. I had it at a 22 man server with 2 slots for members only making it a 20 man server. I don't get to see how many slots the server really has thats done through a command line thats handled at a higher pay grade. So with all the moving the COD5 servers have had in the last little while I can see how this can get messed up.

 A side note here as well. When the server is full ( 20 ) and there is a pass-worded slot 1 or 2 the server will still have only 20 slots and the clan is paying for 22 so members can get in when its full.

I HATE being redirected! That's much more irritating than  the usual "Server is full." I know there are other mods we are trying and want those servers full, but...! *If you look in our history of mods and servers we have tried there are a slough of them that have been put to rest. Many of them are actually very good mods but... it's the same people that dominate them until it's no longer fun to play them. That is why I don't play them and love this server. It's a free for all and on any day anyone can win. I am not playing to win necessarily but I do want to feel that I at least have a chance. It's kind of interesting that with all the problems we've had with this server lately it's still the most popular of the COD5 servers. It feels like things are going in the right direction here now. After migrating twice we seem to have found a home where the lag is a minimal (thank God). I also have tried using the pw and it worked one time for me this week. After that it failed to work and I was redirected! Grrrrrrrrrrrr!
