Or Nissan Frontier SL 4x4: $35,485 sticker. About the same price and features, except that the Toyota is a 4x2 while the Frontier is a 4x4. Toyota comes with tri-fold tonneau cover. In large part this is going to come down to what they give me for a 2009 Town & Country LTD that has every bit of tech available at that time, with just 60,000 miles and in exceptional condition. I sold it after 13 years 2002 Frontier crew cab long box 6 cylinder great truck I love it. I drive it everyday. It has 269,000 Km burns no oil runs perfect. 2015 Frontier crew cab SV Premium package 6 cylinder bought this June 2015 only have 3800 KM on it, I won't drive it on the salted roads. Very nice truck I find the Nissan trucks just as reliable as the Toyota's but a few thousand dollars cheaper. I live in Canada on the coast and we have lots of snow and rain. The roads have lots of salt put on them when winter comes. I make sure I undercoat my vehicles every year. I always do proper maintenance. For me the smaller truck is ideal. I have a 2011 Tacoma and I think the new ones need a couple of recalls. The new engine makes a little more horsepower and about the same torque as the older ones. The problem is that the transmission and the engine don't seem to be working together in the new Tacoma's. The new 3.5's horsepower comes in at a higher rpm range than the older 4.0 and the transmissions shift points don't seem to ever let it get there. Because of this the engine seems to labor just to do the speed limit. I look for them to do a software update in the future. I also talked to a friend who has a 2016 Tacoma and he said he is on his third windshield in 3200 miles. Apparently Toyota switched to a "laminated" windshield to cut down on cabin noise. This leaves a thinner layer of glass on the outside which as you can imagine will crack easily from anything that hits it. He is hoping for a recall soon. I have, however, owned 9 Toyota vehicles through the years and I have nothing but great things to say about them. My wife and I are currently both driving Rav4's. Mine is an old 2006 4x4, and hers is a 2011 4x4. I've had trucks, vans, SUV's, and compacts and they all ran great and last forever. They also hold resale value better than anything I've seen. I honestly don't think you could go wrong with either choice, but since you asked opinions, mines with Toyota every time. But if I did, it would be a 150 for sure. Was leaning toward the Nissan because I get more truck for the money but we'll see. I'll be test driving both today and see what they give me for my trade. Nissan has been building vehicles/trucks in the USA since 1958. In 2008 when 2 of the big 3 auto manufacturers went to the American and Canadian governments and asked for bail outs Nissan did not. Further more Nissan did not lay off one worker. As a middle class tax payer I feel I am the one footing some of my hard earned dollars that paid bail out money to people who mismanaged the auto industry. I'm not saying the folks on the floor, I'm talking about corporate greed. If you want to buy made in America you need to look at the whole picture. What percent of the vehicle is truly made in America. Ford is partnered with Mazda, GM with Toyota etc. this is always a hard question, in the end you have to make Harry happy. Every manufacture and models have good and bad points. Foreign automakers may indeed make their vehicles in America to save on import fees, but where do the profits ultimately go? Incidentally, I'm proud to say that Ford Motor Co. was the only "Big 3" American automaker that didn't take "bail out" money from the U.S. Government. People that ride in my 1997 F-150 can't believe that the truck is 19 years old--no rust or squeaks, and runs excellent (good maintenance, including using only Mobil 1 synthetic oil (in my case), is key). Granted, a few of their other models are made in Japan, but the majority are either the US or Canada. The simple fact is.. there are no 100% American made vehicles anymore.. unless you are referring to North and South America (which covers Canada, US, and Mexico). Vehicles are made from parts all over the world and assembled/partially assembled in places all over the world mostly based on what market they are going to and costs. Hell, in 2014 the Toyota Tundra, the Honda Ridgeline, and the Ford F-150 were all tied for first place in the 'Most American Truck' evaluation ( http://www.cheatsheet.com/automobiles/the-8-most-american-trucks-for-2014.html/?a=viewall ) Based on part origin and assembly locations. I get buying American, I'm patriotic too. Fact is, its near impossible to buy anything 100% US unless you are buying from Mom and Pop's country store. So, I buy smart. BTW..... for the record Ayaq... I was damn proud of FORD, and say so every chance I get to folks I talk to, that they did not ask for a hand out in tough times and held their company together. If I were to stray away from Toyota.. well.. I've ALWAYS wanted a lifted F-250 Lariat Limited 4x4 Diesel. I have no practical use for it, but it is a sexy beast. Jeeps are shit unless it is the inline 6. Dont believe these American truck guys, its only the Ceo's who profit by selling poorly made vehicles. The tacoma has great years, and not so great.. 2005 not so good, but still more reliable than a ford chevy or dodge. 2015 has some minor problems. If ya wanna know what to buy watch craiglist ads.. the tacomas are always listed for sale with over 300,000 miles on them. Only buy vehicles that are proven 300,000 plus mile vehicles, otherwise your always buying parts. The Nissan are Ok also, but the Tacoma has the resale.. Any american made vehicle since 1975 is worth 75% less than a Toyota with the same miles.. It's the top-of-line SL and it's just so much more truck for the money. And at that, it was more than two grand cheaper than the Toyota. I got the best price from both; They were within $200 of each other at $27,200 (that's after $11,000 off for my Town & Country trade-in.) But with the Frontier that included tax and tags; with the Toyota Sport, that was before taxes and tags. And still, I called the Toyota salesman back and he wouldn't budge. So I called the Nissan salesman back and said that Toyota took $1,000 off their quote (they didn't) and if Nissan matched it, I'd buy today. They did, and so I did. The Nissan just felt better for me. There was something about the Sport where I had to hop a bit to get into it but I slid right into the Frontier. And I saw what Tw33dle Dee was talking about re. the transmission. It jerked a bit, while the Frontier was smooth. I pick it up Monday. Thanks for all your help!!! Flat out, Toyota make a superior truck. I would put my first born son on that. Nissan makes good sport cars,when they are not having electronic problems. GM products are rugged and hefty but just don't last as long. Dodge is a quality product yet still....not a good Idea for a comparable size truck to the choices you were looking at. Dodge uses Mitsubishi transmissions on that series of truck and that's NOT a good thing. TOYOTA ALL THAT WAY for a quarter ton or half ton truck. Toyota is known for producing motors that run for high 200-300 thousand mile motors. The resale is better on them too. TOYOTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.s.
